A couple weeks after graduation and Emma was still deciding if adulthood was all it was cracked up to be. She definitely loved the lack of schoolwork. And she got to spend pretty much all her time helping in the engineering workshop or trailing people around watching repairs. But it also left her fewer opportunities to see her best friend. A fact Emma had decided to remedy. Well, that and she had hit a wall on her latest project, but that was entirely beside the point. She wasn’t totally sure if she was allowed in the agriculture department. Probably not. When had that ever stopped Emma though? Besides, it wasn’t a harvest cycle, so most of the staff had probably gone home for the day. She would bet just about anything that Isaiah was still around though. He was like Emma that way. Always caught up in his work. And if he wasn’t here, well, she could still poke around his new workplace. Isaiah’s head finally appeared among the maze of plants. It helped that he was tall. Emma headed his direction, swinging her arms so the fist of one hand collided with the palm of the other as her eyes roamed idly over the various flora. There really were a lot of plants down here. No wonder Isaiah loved it. Speaking of which. “Hey there, Farmer Riggs,” Emma called when she was close enough. “ How goes the work?” Despite the cheery smile, part of her couldn’t help hoping she’d given him a mini heart attack. Iah was cute when he got flustered. Isaiah Riggs(Apparently I had all the Emma muse today. Sorry if I drowned you.)

@emma Sorrryyy for the horribly slow reply. Work continues to kill muse but I'm fighting back! In nothing out of the ordinary, Isaiah was still in agriculture long after he could have left. The smell of flowering plants and the greens that surrounded him, contrasted against the white planters and metal walls, gave him no reason to leave. It wasn't a rare occurrence for Isaiah to even find himself staying so late that he fell asleep and woke early in a panic, needing to eat and shower so he could begin work for a new day. It wasn't anywhere near that late yet, though, and Isaiah was planning on looking for Emma at some stage. It had only been weeks since her graduation and Isaiah had felt a need to check in on her, make sure she was adjusting well. She would do the same for him, and while he knew she held just as much passion as him for her line of work, he still worried a bit.
As much as she managed to get into a lot of trouble, she was a genius. The amount of times that thought had ran through his mind was uncountable because her projects and creations and plans never failed to surprise and impress him. Also scare him, he couldn't forget that. She also never failed to push him way too far out of his comfort zone. All he could hope was that work didn't do anything to break that spark that she held. He wanted to continue to see all her projects coming to life and all the trouble she got into.
Even though Isaiah had been thinking of her, that only really made him more surprised to hear her voice. Isaiah's head shot up, his feet barely managing to stay on the ground as the rest of his body jolted. He could feel the warmth of a blush in his cheeks growing even before his body had settled. Emma's voice was easy to recognise and Isaiah knew for certain that she would find a little too much humour from the way he had been scared by her sudden appearance. "Hi Em," he said, as he turned to face her. He hoped the moment had given himself allowed the blush to quickly fade but he doubted he was that lucky. "Pretty normal. No miracle foods and nothing wrong either." There was some fungi growing on a couple of the lettuce plants, but Emma didn't need to know that. "Was about to come find you, actually. How was work?" |

Iah jumped at the sound of Emma’s voice. Score. She was laughing as she finally reached his side. It really was too easy. “Getting a little carried away with your work there?” She probably shouldn’t give Isaiah grief about getting sucked into project seeing as Emma was exactly the same with her own projects. But it was just too much fun to resist. No miracle food and nothing wrong. “Well, that’s no fun.” Maybe the place could use some livening up. Emma swept her eyes across the visible patches of plants, tilting her head a bit as she thought. Unfortunately, inspiration wasn’t striking. The sprinkles over there were connected to the irrigation system. If she could get to its source, maybe she could find some dye and make the vegetables turn all the wrong colors. A mildly amusing thought, but honestly rather amateurish. “You do remember what fun is, right? Because honestly, this place seems pretty dull. Colorful and full of nice smells. But dull.” She smiled innocently up at Isaiah. Not that she really had any bright ideas at the moment (apparently she was having a bit of an off day here), but he didn’t know that. She shrugged at the question of her own work. “Alright, I guess. Bit of a slow day.” Nothing interesting had been in need of fixing, and while that was probably better for Mount Weather was a whole, it was rather boring for a certain engineer in training. “I found this old drone thing in storage though. I think I can fix it up. Make it fly again. Not sure what I’ll do with it then, but I’m sure I’ll think of something.” Maybe she could mount a camera on it and get Uncle Carl to carry it out for her next time he went above ground. Get herself some solid footage of the outside world. Assuming the signal reached that far. Or she could just use it to drive Mount Weather security crazy in the restricted areas. The possibilities were endless, really. With great power came great entertainment. Isaiah Riggs(No worries. Work is horrible for muse. Keep fighting it!)
