The sun shone. Clarke had not expected that from the descriptions of winter she had on the Ark. It spoke of something cold and harsh, of sort days and frozen limbs. So far Clarke managed to avoid that. She had managed to hunt. The fur she got was enough to keep her warm night and day, but now with the sun shining like this, it was almost beautiful. Clarke was close to the mountains. She had just found a wonderful place, a free area overlooking a part of the woods, that allowed her to really take in the way the snow glittered in the sun. The sun actually warmed her, so she took off one layer of fur and leaned against a tree.
Soon enough she heard something just as she was soaking in the beauty of the glittering snow around her. Her people were safe, she knew that – she saw that in the soft smoke that rose over where Camp Jaha was. Something or someone was approaching but Clarke just couldn’t care to do much about it. She turned to look in the direction, ready to draw a weapon, but maybe they would be fooled by her now red hair. Maybe it was just an animal, too. The girl looked in the direction and waited, ready to either run or attack, depending on who it was.

The weather was cold, and while that was making Emerson's clothes less and less useful, it was also telling him that he was travelling in the right direction. The bright and glaring snow around him was almost a trademark of the Ice Nation's territory and Emerson felt his hopes continuing to grow. It shouldn't be too difficult at all to get them on his side and once they were, revenge could be served to those who deserved it. Like Clarke. Speaking of Clarke, as Emerson moved past a tree, that exact girl came into his view. At first, Emerson didn't quite recognise her. The red in her hair put him off, knowing that her hair was actually blonde. But once he got a look at her face, there was no doubting who the woman was. No doubting it was her.
Emerson stopped suddenly, boots sunk into the snow. Now that he had passed into the clearing, there was nothing to hide him from her. Not unless he moved back behind the tree line. But, well, Emerson didn't see much point in hiding. Why should he hide from her? She didn't have a lever to pull that could kill him, whereas Emerson had many means of killing her right there and then. Not that he intended on doing anything like that. His mind, in the many days that had passed since the irradiation of Mount Weather, had come up with many plans that would get him the best satifaction from his revenge. Instead of speaking or doing anything at al, really, Emerson just stood there and smiled bitterly at Clarke. His hand raised for a moment in a wave before it dropped down again, resting at the handle of a knife he had crafted from stone. CARL EMERSON ------------ |
