Now her cheeks are rather hollow with pronounced cheekbones and a long face. Her eyes are a dark hazel and her hair is dark brown and falls past her shoulders. She's tall, but not outrageously so. She has lost a lot of weight since the birth of her children due to food shortages and splitting rations. Her style is quite plain and she wears mostly greys and blues, always under a jacket which she of course made. She always has a cloth tape measure around her neck, resting on her shoulders.

.:Personality:. Aurora Blake tries. She tries to be the best she can be; the best mother, the best seamstress, the best daughter... She tries so hard to do everything right-- but nobody ever taught her how to handle the things that she's had to endure. Everything she does is for her family and in some ways, this makes her selfish while in others makes her selfless. She's willing to make sacrifices, but is afraid of making the wrong decisions. Aurora tried to bring her children up well; with strong values and a respect for responsibility, but in doing so has become a rather emotionally manipulative person. Unintentionally, she has pressured her own sons childhood away and she knows that... she sees it, yet even knowing the pressure she places on him and the decisions she makes for him-- she can't change. Her love for her children has given her a pack mentality where everyone needs to pitch in to make sacrifices. Bellamy sacrifices his freedom and future for Octavia, Octavia sacrifices her independence and identity for Aurora, while Aurora sacrifices her dignity to keep her children safe. .:Family:. Aurora Blake has a son named Bellamy who was her first born and a daughter named Octavia. Octavia was an illegal child and broke the law of only having one child per family, but Aurora hid her for may years. Her relationship with her own parents was rocky at best and they died before Bellamy was old enough to know them. As for the father of her children, well... he isn't in the picture.

.:History:. Aurora was born to a single mother in sector B-17 and has never really left. Her life outside of school was rather boring and as a child, she made few friends. Her mother was a closed off woman who frequently trafficked illegal goods from station to station. It was from her she learned just how to manipulate the guard enough so that little things can be slipped by. Officially, her mother was a seamstress who taught Aurora as she grew. Her mother didn't have much faith in her to be much more than she was, and Aurora never challenged it. Truth be told she was a little unsettled by the woman who raised her. She was hot tempered and always put herself first. She was different from the other parents on The Ark who let their children play with others and even go to their apartments. Instead, Aurora was kept busy with her mothers work while she moved goods from station to station. As she grew older she learned that this was for the sake of secrecy.
When Aurora was old enough to have her own home, she moved in with a man who she later married. He was charming; a member of the guard. She'd set up a good life for herself and planned to have children with him, but she had an affair with another. When her husband found out, they divorced and Aurora had Bellamy alone. He was the light of her life though... She loved him with every ounce of affection she had. She'd read stories to him of old gods and legends and she would always look after him in a way that her own mother did not. Her mother passed away soon after Bellamy was born, and though it was painful, Aurora saw it as a new start. She'd be better than her mom. She would be a much better mother than she was a daughter and Bell would be raised to be whatever he wanted. Or at least, that was the intention.
Seven years later, Aurora's IUD malfunctioned and she became pregnant. She should have gone to medical as soon as she found out, but she was... attached. She couldn't get rid of the life growing inside her as the ark would demand of her. She couldn't find support anywhere. Instead, she looked to Bellamy. He was only seven, but she leaned on him. All through her pregnancy she used him to deliver her work and for emotional support. She told him everything-- about the baby, about what the ark would do if they found out. It was a lot to force a child to deal with but Aurora had nobody she could trust. Only Bellamy. The stress, the pressure, the emotions-- everything was poured onto him right up until a baby girl was born and named by Bellamy. Octavia. Life... became so complicated after that. For everyone.
Aurora had friends with the guard, but soon just having connections wasn't enough to know when surprise inspections would occur. She needed to become physical with those who were desperate enough. She became a prostitute to protect her children and to hide Octavia. Soon, as Bellamy grew of age she even used the guardsmen to get Bellamy into the guard so that he would be able to protect Octavia from the inside. Aurora hated what she was forcing him to do, but after so many years she'd become desensitized to the consequences of her actions... but then when Octavia was sixteen, Bellamy smuggled her out for a dance... Had Aurora known she would have stopped him, but... when she was caught there wasn't much that could be done. Really, the end result was inevitable. She found to make sure that Bell would't be floated for hiding her, but Aurora had to face the death penalty while her daughter would be locked away.
