It was a slow day in the infirmary for once. Dr. Griffin was occupied with chancellor duties and Jackson had gone off to do something or other, so Shiloh was taking advantage of the break to crush up some plants they could use for medicine. They needed to stock up on what they could before the worsening winter killed the rest. With how the temperatures were falling, it was going to be a long season. The sound of footsteps drew Shiloh back to the present. She looked up to see a girl about her own age entering the infirmary. One of her fellow former delinquents. Although not one Shiloh had really interacted with before. Her name started with an A… That was as far as Shiloh could get. Oh well. She set down the pestle she was using and headed toward the front of the infirmary. “Hey. Can I help you?” Shiloh had only just started training, so there wasn’t too much she could handle by herself yet. Stitches, breaks and fevers mostly. But if the problem was outside her capabilities, she could always get one of the two nurses in the back of the infirmary. Adelaide Morgan

Addy had been working as one of the engineer's on the ground since she had arrived with another person but she was good with almost everything and never expected to her hurt herself and especially not in the way she did. She had been putting some metal together to patch up a piece of the wall because she couldn't find anything else interesting to do, or that needed to be done. While in the process she was placing the metal against the wall when it slides from her hands and sliced the side of her leg and hand. The leg wasn't bad but the hand was a different story. She told someone to keep an eye on the area and quickly made her way toward the Infirmary.
She walked through the door to spot one of the delinquent's she came to earth with. She didn't know the girl because the girl seems more keen on being quiet and keeping to close friends. She slightly remembers the girl from the Ark but barely seeing as she had been in solitude for awhile. She heard the girl speak "Um..yeah, well I hope" she says to the girl showing her the side of her leg and the deep slice on the palm of her hand. Sh could barely feel the one on her leg but the one of her hand was throbbing with pain shooting up her arm.

The girl held out her hand, and Shiloh frowned as she saw the cut. It looked deep, unlike the leg wound. But stitches were something Shiloh could handle. “Well, you’re in luck. Stitches are my specialty.” She smiled and motioned for the other girl to follow her. Shiloh led the way over to one of the examination tables, stopping to grab the supplies she would need out of a cabinet. Then she pointed at the table. “Have a seat. I’m Shiloh, by the way. I don’t think we’ve officially met.” People always assumed all of the former delinquents must know each other. But there had a hundred of them to start with, and there were still over forty left. A lot of them only knew each other by face or name. Once the girl was seated, Shiloh took her hand to get a better look. “It’s definitely deep. How’d you cut it?” It didn’t look like a weapon, so it wasn't likely the wound had been poisoned or something. But it was better to ask for the details just in case. Adelaide Morgan

Addy gave the girl a small smile and follow close behind her as she led her to a table. She looked closely as the examining her with curiosity. She doesn't seem to be a quiet and working girl but more of a have fun and mess around girl. She jumps on the table and lays her hand gently on her her leg as she waits for the girl to fix it "It's nice to meet you Shiloh, I'm Adelaide but I prefer Addy" she says smiling at her. Most delinquents knew each other but there was always the occasional people who avoid the others.
After being full sat down she heard Shiloh talk once again asking about how she had managed to cut it "Well, I was fixing a hole in the back wall then the metal slipped from man hands and this in the outcome" she states looking down at her hand. She was in much pain seeing as she was trying to distract herself from it as much as possible.

Maybe it was the familiarity about the infirmary, or maybe it was just that Shiloh understood people coming in here usually weren’t at their most comfortable. But either way, something about being in here seemed to give her confidence. She talked more and exuded more warmth. Like right now as she smiled at her fellow delinquent. “Addy. Pretty name. It's nice to meet you too.” She bent down to get a better look at Addy’s leg as the young woman explained what had happened. Fixing a wall. Huh. “You a mechanic or something?” Technical fields had never been Shiloh’s strongpoint. But the ability to work with one’s hands was definitely a useful skill around here. She took careful hold of Addy’s hand, which was still bleeding. “Well, your leg should stop bleeding on its own here in a second. But that hand definitely needs stitches.” Shiloh stepped away from the table just long enough to get some supplies out of a cabinet. Threading the needle was easy. She had gotten pretty good at stitches lately. Mainly because it was one of the few things she had the expertise to handle so far. Unfortunately, what anesthetic they had was in short supply and therefore reserved for more serious problems. A handful of stitches (pun not intended) didn’t quite qualify. Shiloh readied the needle and looked up at Addy. “This is probably going to hurt a bit. Ready?” Some people liked to make a show of being tough, but Shiloh would personally rather have the warning. Addy was very curious about the girl in front of her. Not many people were this kind, especially the delinquents that came down on the dropship. She gives Shiloh a bright smile at the mention of her name "I love my name." she told her as she remembers how she got it "Anyway, thank you for the compliment" she says to her and winced as pain shot up her arm once again.
After thinking about how to explain how she got into fixing the wall she paused the turned to look at Shiloh again "I'm actually more of an engineer but I'm good at fixing basically anything" she told her with a laugh "other than walls apparently, that despise me" she in between her laugh. She missed having fun and being reckless but now it was all work and zero play. She loved to do stupid stuff and avoid getting in trouble by sneaking around the guards trying to catch her.
Addy watched the girl grabbed some instruments from the cabinet on the other side of the room. She waits patiently as she avoids looking at her hand, every time she did, she would get a pain shooting through her arm. Don't get her wrong she didn't mind needles at all but she's never had stitches in her hand. She was kinda terrific about it and what the pain would be like but with a sigh, she looked up a Shiloh and have a smile and a small nod "Let's get it over with before I decide to do it my way" she says taking a deep breath.

It seemed Addy was an engineer. “Nice. We need those.” Personally, Shiloh wished she was better at fixing more solid objects. But mechanics were not her strong point. “Cuts and bones are about the only things I can fix. To each their own, I guess.” Addy seemed to be warming in response to Shiloh’s light attitude. She even made a small joke. That was a good sign. An injured person who could joke was in far better shape than one that couldn’t. Shiloh chuckled. “You have to watch those walls. I’ve had a few run-ins with them myself.” Pun not intended. Although definitely accurate, come to think of it. She was brave. Shiloh had to give her that. There were some adults who turned unnatural colors at the idea of stitches. But the delinquents had also been through a lot. The concepts of pain and discomfort were starting to become pretty relative. “I’ll try to make this quick.” She pulled up a stool and sat down, taking Addy’s hand in her own. “So tell me more about being an engineer. I’ve always wished I was better at that sort of thing.” She touched the needle to Addy’s skin and pulled it through as carefully as she could. The cut was deep, but not too long. Hopefully it would only need a few. In the mean time, maybe talking would keep Addy distracted enough that the pain wasn’t too bad. Beside manner was one of the few things Shiloh hadn't needed to learn from this apprenticeship. Which was a little ironic really considering how shy she could be outside of the infirmary. Love this template! @shiloh words: 243 | Addy smiles at the girl in front of her "Yes, thats true but we also need people like you" she says with a small laugh "To fix people like me" Addy says to her as she watched Shiloh closely. She watched her pull the stool in front of her and sit down on it. Don't get her wrong, she isn't afraid of needles or anything, she just isn't fond of letting people poke her with sharp objects and that includes needles. She lets out a quiet breath as she prepared for it. Then she hear the kind voice of the girl fixing her hand "I loving being an engineer so I guess I can tell you a little bit about it" she told her as she tries to not think about her hand.
Addy thinks about how she wants to explain her job for a few second before she finally decides "I'm not a normal engineer, I'm a mechanical engineer." she says with a smile as she remembers it's the same thing her father had been on the arker "They will fix's machines but because there isn't many of them down here, I fix just about anything I'm asked to" she told her as she tries to think of examples as she felt the small pricks from the needle going in and out of the skin on the palm of her hand "Like the wall obviously and sometimes even the vehicles" she finished.

Shiloh chuckled. Addy had a point. Both kinds of people were certainly needed. “Well, you keep fixing walls, and I’ll keep fixing you.” Not that she wanted Addy to end up in the infirmary again, although she was starting to like the other girl’s company. It had just seemed like the right thing to say. Addy seemed to relax a bit as she spoke about her job. Shiloh nodded along as she pulled the stitches through. One finished, then another. “Mechanical, huh? Neat.” There had been a lot of work for mechanics up on the Ark what with keeping the air scrubbers running and all that. Not so much on the ground. “Doctors, unfortunately, have even more work on the ground than we did up there.” Shiloh was rather used to it what with patching up herself so much as a kid. But there had been fewer chances for injury on the Ark. Fewer bacteria too. Mostly just fixing parts that broke down one way or another. A bit like mechanics Shiloh supposed. “So is it hard being a mechanic? It seems like it would be complicated.” Three more stitches down. Almost done. Shiloh chose to keep that to herself though. Addy seemed suitably distracted, so better not to draw her attention back to the needle being pulled through her hand. All things considered, she was taking this pretty well. “Have you ever had to fix anything crazy? Or that had a good story to it?” Doctors apparently didn’t tend to have funny stories so much. But maybe a mechanic would. If nothing else, it would keep her mind occupied while Shiloh finished the stitches. Adelaide Morgan

Love this template! @shiloh words: 378 | Addy loved her job more than anything, it kept her distracted from the world that now surrounds her. She hated that the grounds where always trying to attack them and was more than happy about the fact they were now on good terms till something else happens. Laughing at what Shiloh had said she smiled at the girl "I'll keeping fixing things but make sure these doors are always open" she states with another laugh as her free hand points toward where the door is "Because i'm sure i'll be back" she finished with a smile as she looked at Shiloh in front of her.
'In my own opinion I believe being a mechanic is easy but I've been doing it for awhile now" she says with a such of her shoulders "You have to be patient and skilled with your hands and sometimes your mind" she says with a laughing thinking about when her father told her the same thing when she was younger. She always thought she would never use it but here she is actually using it. "It is quite complicated if you don't know much about it but that were you learn and it took me some time to learn." she finished with a small nod.
Addy though for a few minutes about all the things she has had to fix since they arrived on the ground. Most of it was small things anyone could do but chose not to. Biting the inside of her lip, she continues to think till she remembers something she made out of boredom when they first arrived "Well, I was putting some metal together when we first came down" she started "I wasn't sure what it was supposed to be and still to this day I'm not sure." she says with a laugh "well while I was working on it, a friend I met came in and just started to laugh. I turned and looked at them confused and that caused them to explain." she shook her head at the thought "They said it looked more like a person being kicked in the butt. I laugh when they said that and told them it was supposed to be a tree" she says finishing as she shakes her head.
