.:Name:. Elissa Syed .:Nick Name:. N/A .:Affiliation:. Arker .:Age:. 28
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Slender in frame, Elissa stands at an average height but doesn't fail in showing confidence in her posture, something gained from her upbringing in alpha station. She has black hair that falls in curls to her waist and dark brown eyes. On the Ark, Elissa was often seen wearing dresses, apart from when she was working as a nurse. Yet on Earth she has come to wear more appropriate clothing, learning to dress more for comfort, safety and ease.
.:Height:. 5"5' .:Portrayed by:. Aiysha Hart

.:Personality:. Elissa is a person who cares for people. From a young age, Elissa's focus has always been on other people, rather than being solely focused on herself. Growing up in such a privlaged household, this view wasn't always shared by her family or those close to her family but she held onto it strong, and still, even in the pain she feels, somewhat has that more outward focus. She's also a person who holds a need for perfection. This seeps into her relationships in a subtle need for control, although her love for helping people tends to hide this to the worst degree and dull it down enough to not cause too much trouble. It seeps into her work through a focus on getting things right and means she tends to do all she can as a nurse to the best degree possible, although can often lead to her putting too much focus on things that don't need it.
She holds a confidence on the outside and always a layer of uncertainty on the inside. While she is one to try and find hope in anything she can, Elissa can also be her own worst enemy in being too good at seeing the worst outcome of a situation and in thinking too much into the failures of her past. But really, she always tries her best to do what she needs to do and tries her best to move through everything thrown at her. It's that willingness to try and that want to see hope even when it isn't her natural view that keeps her going. .:Special Skills:. Medical knowledge - trained as a nurse

.:Birthplace:. Ark - Alpha Station .:Family:. Former husband - Killian Crane (divorced), daughter (deceased) .:Occupation:. Nurse
.:History:. Elissa was born on alpha station, the daughter of privlaged parents and thus a child who had a well-off upbringing with every opportunity open to her. From a young age Elissa found herself interested in one thing and that was people. She loved to be surrounded by them, friends and family, and she loved to be able to help them in any way possible. She always had a caring heart and anyone close to her would agree with that. Throughout her childhood, Elissa grew into a position of deciding she wanted to be a nurse and that she would enjoy that job the most, and so she put her focus on her studies and used all the opporuntity she had to get herself into that job.
Out of all the people that Elissa came to know, the most significant was her best friend, Killian. The two were friends since they were young children, breaking through the barrier of their different classes and eventually coming to a position of marrying, after dating for some time. As much as the two were close, the marriage didn't last. They had a daughter but decided together that they found that they were better as friends and divorced on mutual agreement. While this would usually be a negative thing, they both agreed that this would be the best thing and were able to work better in a refreshed friendship to mutually raise their daughter in the best environment. Elissa loved her daughter and always saw so much hope in her, especially when things changed on the Ark.
The last thing that Elissa ever expected to happen was the failure of the Ark. Having been out of the loop, Elissa had held no knowledge that anything was wrong before the message from Jake Griffin come through the communication systems. It was a shock but as things progressed, Elissa was thrilled at the idea of coming to Earth. She found hope in that, and in her daughter and the future she could have on the ground. She was in farm station as they came to Earth and survived the landing with both Killian and their daughter.
As much as Elissa found herself in relief about surviving the landing, it wasn't the thing that she should have been worrying about. Outside of farm station, in the newness of everything, the children played. It was such a pleasant sight and everyone held high hopes then, that was before the Ice Nation attacked. Several children were killed, including Elissa's daughter. The suddenness of it all left Elissa in shock. For one of the first time she could remember, Elissa seeked solitude and peace, rather than the chatter and noise of other people. Her grief overtook her, only to be challenge by the disappointment and even anger she felt. Herself and Killian put the blame on each other but Elissa truly believed that it wasn't her fault.
Things were never really the same after that. The hope Elissa had held for Earth was ripped away in that first experience of the planet and the next months were harsh as they adjusted to the new planet, the cold weather, and the attacking armies that never seemed to relant in their mission to kill every one of them. Eventually something good came, when they all finally were found by other Ark survivors, where they came to live in Arkadia. That should have left Elissa more hopeful, she guessed, but her heart ached for her daughter and the fact that she would never see what Elissa now got to see. Not wanting to let go of that pain, Elissa didn't take the chip at first, only doing so when she was threatened. Honestly, she felt the pain was the thing keeping the memory of her daughter alive, if only she knew how true that would be once the chip was taken.
