Kom woda ‘so gyon op, gon woda ‘so kom daun from water we are born, to water we return T oday was an anniversary of sorts. The anniversary of her brother's death. His murder. By her own hands. It was not the first as it had been some years since the incident occurred. But Luna felt it in her heart each and every year. The secrecy of her past remaining in tact, undisclosed to anyone aboard the rig . . . with the exception of Derrick.
She knew she could speak to him about what burdened her but today, it was not something she wished to focus on. Tonight there was a special feast held in place to welcome a couple new orphans who had decided to embrace a life of peace. Escaping the cursed life of a warrior, of death . . . and finding serenity here. Luna had given a small speech to welcome them. And the feast had continued on. There was music, dancing, story telling. And eventually, it drew to a close. With the other marking of this day, Luna did not wish for soltitude tonight.
She wanted the comfort of a friend. Which, she supposed that was at the very least what they were. Approaching Derrick she wore a soft smile, stopping once she was near enough to him so that she could be heard as she was not accustomed to raising her voice. "Will you walk me to my room?" She asked of him. A gentle request. It was the first series of the questions she wished to ask . . . the other, being an admittance that tonight, she did not want to be alone. Whatever that entailed, she wanted the comfort found only in his arms.

Tonight was not really a night for celebrating - the anniversary of his friend, Luna's brother, but then again it was reason to celebrate. A couple of orphans had come aboard to settle into their new life of peace and that was reason enough for celebrate and for a time he could ignore the cloud hanging over his head. Knowing it was far worse for Luna but the woman had strength and instead of keeping herself away, she was mingling with the clan, welcoming the orphans. For a time he studied her, watching her keep that mask on. Nobody knew she was hurting because the death of her brother wasn't widely known. He suspected he was the only one currently on the rig that knew.
For the celebration, he mingled, he danced, he even threw one of the kids up in the air and caught them as they came down, their laughter like music to his ears. When it came to a close, he bade the children goodnight, even tucking one into bed before he wandered back out. Their family were growing and he couldn't help but smile at the thought. He knew how hard it was to start a new life, it was downright scary at times. But they had the support here and that would make their transition easier. Not to mention the lack of violence which was why people chose to come here.
Though he hadn't been able to properly talk to Luna for most of the night, when she approached he gave her a gentle nod. "Of course, Luna." She didn't even need to ask though he knew why she did it. Same reason why she didn't raise her voice(well, he thought he knew the reason). He knew she would make a great leader and not because she was trained to be one. No, she was gentle and kind, showing them another path. Look to those who walked before, to lead those who walk after. He'd heard someone say that long ago and it applied here. Luna was an incredible spirit and he knew they wouldn't have gotten this far without her.
As he walked with her, he remained silent, aware of those around the rig. He couldn't speak on the day until they were safely inside her room. "It'll be okay." Derrick could say that without it sparking any type of question should other ears hear it. We will get through this. We always do. Luna((ooc// nope, it was perfect!))

Kom woda ‘so gyon op, gon woda ‘so kom daun from water we are born, to water we return D errick's presence was always an immediate comfort. This was not out of convenience or coincidence. He was her closest friend and had been so since childhood. She would not have been able to be leader of Floukru without him. A companion, someone so close and dear to her heart. The walk to her room was silent, comfortable. Exactly what she needed in the reminder of tonight. Once they got into her room, stepping inside, allowing the necessary privacy, he spoke the words that she had needed to hear. But then, he never failed to do that. He always knew exactly what she needed. Because he knew her. Better than anyone else. She relished in that bond.
Offering a small soft smile in response, she leaned toward him, resting her cheek against his chest as she closed his eyes, taking in the comfort of his presence by furthering it to contact. "He would have liked it here," she said in a gentle voice. If only she had fled the conclave before murdering her brother. If only they had sought refuge before such acts of violence could have been committed. It would always be her greatest regret. Closing her eyes, she wrapped her arms around Derrick, allowing herself to fully embrace her humanity in these few stolen moments. "Will you stay with me?" She asked him before he eyes looked up at him without breaking the contact of her rest rested against his chest. "I don't want to be alone tonight." Tonight of all nights, she didn't want to be alone. But she also knew that she would ask no other person the question she had now asked Derrick.

LunaWith her head on his chest, he wrapped his arms around her, enveloping her in a hug that would only break when she decided it would be over, not before. "He would have." Derrick agreed, his heart heavy with loss. Unlike Luna, he did not blame her at all. Sure he had died by her hand but that wasn't her fault - it was a product of what all Nightbloods had to do. They were trained to become Heda one day and Derrick blamed whoever started the tradition and he blamed the others for letting it continue. Like the day they ran from the conclave, he had told her she was not a monster. He truly believed that and as he held her, that belief was still strong.
She was not a monster. She was just unfortunate enough to be born with blood as dark as night. Derrick wouldn't hold that against her, it was downright cruel and unfair. He loved her far too much to even do something, or think such horrible thoughts, about her.
"I have no doubt he is watching us in spirit, looking out for us all." He liked to believe that as well, that the dead did not truly leave them. They lived on in their hearts and minds and so long as they had a heart and mind, the memories would remain. He wasn't saying these words to be nasty - his tone of voice was supportive and showing he still viewed her as Luna. He held her even as she held him, her warmth seeping into his clothing. "I will. You don't have to be alone tonight. I'll be with you." Derrick promised, kissing the top of her head, the wild curls of her hair untamed and beautiful, like Luna, like her very being of her soul. He moved to kiss her forehead next, softly, gently, hoping that it would at least chase away some of her pain.
His pain, his hurts, it didn't matter. If he was able to he would take all of the pain Luna was feeling because she certainly didn't deserve the pain.

Kom woda ‘so gyon op, gon woda ‘so kom daun from water we are born, to water we return T he security and comfort of his arms wrapped around her was unlike any other. It instantly warmed her entire body, soothing her heart and soul. His presence always did that. It was why she had depended on him in so many ways. They had been friends for a long time. And . . . she loved him. She knew that, and hoped that he knew it too even if the words had been left unsaid. Hearing his agreement over her thoughts of her brother brought a small smile to her lips, basking in the memory of him. Not how his life ended but the life he had lived before then.
The pain of his loss would always burden her heart, but she could not dwell in it. What would there be left in this world if she only wallowed in agony and pain? Derrick's words about her brother keep that gentle smile on her lips. "He will always be with us," she said, reminding herself as well. A comfort in that, knowing he was always near. "And live on in us." In the bond that they held. In all that they had learned from him. She had killed him, but she could never destroy his spirit. His reassurance that he would stay with her flooded relief within her. She didn't have to be alone tonight. She could have the company of her closest friend and that, would make the night far easier to endure.
His words were matched with a perfect kiss on the top of her head as she closed her eyes, basking in the feeling of his lips. Better felt when he kissed her forehead. It drew a quiet sigh from her lips, filled with contentment, with peace. Instinctively, she titled her head up a little, her eyes still closed, using her knowledge of his body to inch closer to his mouth. As if there was a force suddenly pulling her toward him. She paused, her lips hovering over his, hardly an inch between them. She could feel his warm breath, the slight brush of their barley touching lips. She moved a hand to his cheek, her fingers tracing over his jaw as she just soaked in the feeling of his body, silently waiting to see if this was something that he wanted. Or if she was getting too caught up in the moment.

Luna Her body fit snug against his, despite her smaller size. He was taller than her but he knew size didn't account for nothing when it came to the presence of a person and Luna's far outshined his. And he loved it. Luna was a beautiful force that should not be hidden and here she didn't have to hide. When she leaned up, her lips barely touching his, his own instinct rallied him on to meet hers, brushing lightly, showing her that yes, he wanted this just as much as she did. One of his hands moved to lightly brush some of her untamed hair behind an ear, loving the feel of the silky strands beneath his fingers.
Though his lips were softly against hers, she had the power to break it if she didn't want to continue. It was soft but full of passion and the love he had for her. Showing her that it was okay. He looked into her eyes, no words were spoken out loud but his eyes, his expression, they all gave the confirmation, making sure that it was known. Of course he hardly ever would say no to Luna especially if it meant kissing her. He could never tire of such things, not when she tasted so sweet. It was almost intoxicating and he hungered for more, hungered for her it more ways than one.
Even the stirring in his lower regions proved that.
He wasn't entirely sure if she wanted kisses or more so he would let her lead until he knew for certain - he wouldn't push if she wasn't wanting any more than just kisses in the night.

I didn't flee the conclave because I was afraid I would lose I fled, because I knew I would win. H e was gentle. Which hardly came as a surprise. She had known that since they became friends, growing up together, and now living here together. She trusted him; with her heart, body, mind and soul. A deep love felt for him for all the years they had been together. For all that time that allowed them to build this strong bond they now shared.
Luna knew she would be lost without him. He had given her a way out so many years ago and he selflessly took it with her despite the danger. Her mind often fleeted back to that moment on tonight's anniversary. Unsure how to every fully express her gratitude to Derrick for remaining with her during all this time. With their lips brushed against each others, he didn't move from it either.
Nothing in his body's indication or the expression he held, suggestion that he didn't want this. So she went with these instincts. With that, she properly pressed her lips against Derrick's in a kiss, her fingers weaving into his hair, running through his locks as she slightly parted her lips, allowing him access to deepn it should he so desire to. Because now that she had tasted him, now that she had kissed him -- a sensation that consumed all her senses -- she wasn't sure she would ever be able to let go.
