Emerson has always said that they needed to be wary of the alliance between the Savages and the Sky People. It wasn't something that the Savages hadn't ever done before, make an alliance, and because of that fact it was something new and something dangerous to those of Mount Weather. The current commander had managed to make such a strong alliance and in that, bring an army to Mount Weather's front door. It was what Emerson had worried would happen and something that he had definitely warned Cage about. They had done everything, absolutely everything in their power to stop the army and break the alliance but everything that had done so far had failed. There was an inside man in the Mountain and the kids they had let in and given a home to, they had fought back when the marrow treatments had begun. Emerson now knew they should have been kept in cages just like the Savages were, away from the general Mount Weather population and in a ready position to be taken to have their marrow extracted. Now, with the army at their door, Emerson stood with his soldiers, ready to be told if the power was taken down. If it was, it was the job of him and his soldiers to make sure that none of the army could get to the door. Cage's voice was loud and clear to inform him of when it happened and Emerson replied as he gestured to the soldiers to prepare to shoot. "Copy that. Don't worry, Sir. They're not getting anywhere near that door." It wasn't that difficult to keep the army away from the door, shooting them down as they tried to cross that last small distance. It was the minute that they couldn't fail at and Emerson had no plans of failing at it. At first Clarke tried to cross the distance and that caused the first wave of gunfire, informing the army that they were not alone there at the door. Then a group came out, Outsider soldiers with shields, and Emerson and his team made no delay in shooting them all down and stopping them well before they could make it all the way to the front door. Time ran low, the seconds ticking by and bringing complete confidence to Emerson. If they could stop them here, there was no other way for the army to get into the Mountain. Mount Weather would win and they would easily be able to scare away the army from there. At least that was how Emerson saw it. As long as they didn't make it into the Mountain, that was the worst of the issues fixed. That was why they had never had to worry about the Savages before, because they had ways of keeping them not just out of the Mountain but even far away from it. But to his surprise and shock, in the last seconds of the minute, an arrow was shot at the door, breaking the lock as the seconds ticked to zero. Emerson commanded his soldiers to not stand down but to keep shooting while his face came alive in anger. "They broke the lock, Sir," Emerson said into his radio, then listened for a reply from Cage. When the reply came, Emerson let a smile relax into his face, smug and ready. "Copy that." It was a perfect plan and it would break the alliance right away. Everything that Emerson knew of the Savages told him that the deal of getting their people out would be taken, even if it meant leaving the Sky People in the Mountain. They cared more for themselves than an alliance, after all, there was no doubt about that in Emerson's mind. His soldiers informed him that Lexa had pulled away from the group and started to move to where they were positioned. "Let them," Emerson commanded, "We have new orders. Keep shooting."
