Octavia Blake
I don't want to survive. I want to live.
O waited by the homemade gate until the guard wasn't looking, and she slipped out. Moving deeper int he woods she waited by the agreed upon meeting place. She was waiting for @finncollins to join her, so they could go and scout. While he could just walk out of the gate, she didn't want to risk her brother stopping her, so she had not waited to walk out with him. Bellamy had drastic reactions to her and boys. She didn't want Finn dealing with that either. Which was why it was better to avoid her brother knowing.
Octavia and Finn had been trying to learn more about Earth since they landed, and they both didn't want to take weapons out and stare a fight that didn't need t be started. They both agreed about peace, and that the best way to achieve it was to learn about the grounders. Today they were going to head toward where they think a village might be and try to get close for the first time. It was stupid not to tell someone where she was going, but she also knew that if the wrong person knew that they would be followed. It was a risk, but it was one both her and Finn agreed to take.

The woods contained a different world inside the one they knew. Not to mention that the Earth they landed was strange - it was alien. Nothing about this place seemed familiar. Finn found himself looking towards the sky. Somewhere up there, beyond the clouds, was where they he had fallen from. It was crazy, nothing could compare to the reality they all found on this rock. The Ark, heh, it was supposed to be his coffin. He never grew up around a family, so to that logic some on the Ark had told him that he wasn't a human being. But down here? Nothing could compare. There was a certain radiating aura that seemed to be clung to be these woods. A sense of freedom, unification. There was the camp where the rest of them lived, worked, slept. They were all unified by a common purpose: survival. Finn knew a little something about that. The Ark was a tough place, Earth was a tougher place. It forced him to be more on his toes. There was something however lingering there in the darkness. It hung around every corner. Danger lurked in ever dark corner. It was as the world turned on it's axle that caused the shadows to hide their faces in shame. Maybe Finn brought some of that darkness down with him. He could hear their voices drifting through the trees. The sound of people. The sound of a single heartbeat, a single heart, toiling away in purpose. To survive. Finn wasn't sure he wanted to be a part of that. Then he thought back to the friends he had. The fidelity he all shared. He smirked, a small crease forming at his mouth. Fidelity. He had always been a fighter. He always wanted to fight for something. In a place with dying oxygen, life support systems, population control, there wasn't much of a reason to fight. Every one else back at camp thought they had been given a second chance. Finn knew what it was. They didn't care about the 100 they jettisoned. They were making room for what they had left in space. There was no future for them up there. Down here was a different story. To Finn, it was about living out the rest of their sentence. Except now they didn't have supervisors leaning over their shoulders. This whole planet was a prison. Sure, the guys like Bellamy, were assuming control from Clarke. Politics was still a thing. It was all just dumb. Finn jumped from the rock where he sat perched in deep thought. He breathed in a deep breath of the cool mountain air. Nothing can compare. Maybe they had been given a second chance. A second chance where no jury or trial dictated how one should live. He let his hand brush the rough bark of a tree. Everything here was so beautiful. For the moment he was invincible. There was nothing anyone or anything could do. Tell him how to live life. He was free. For the first time he felt an absolute sense of freedom. He had slipped from the makeshift gates earlier than planned. He needed to be outside. Exist beyond his mortal cage. Everything in camp was so clustered and noisy. Too many people doing too many different things. He wouldn't have found the underground room if he hadn't picked up on the footprints. They were old, almost faded, but easily imprinted against the dirt. They knew that the Earth had inhabitants. People that were there before they even landed planetside. It was why the big boys, and girls, not excluding the blonde one, Clarke, from building their walls. In making their walls defensible. No cage would ever stop Finn from seeking the freedom he always wanted. He was off to the meeting point to meet the cute one, Octavia. They had talked a couple times, mostly harmless flirting. It was her brother he should be most concerned about. He wasn't. He was a pushover. Probably one of this tough kids, who, with one push on their ass, would be sent running. None of the other wanted to map their surroundings either. It was too dangerous. He was happy to know that blake was one, besides him, that wanted to know. To explore. Maybe he would show her his underground room while they were out. First order of business was to scout. With his undeniably good tracking skills, they shouldn't have much of a problem. He took another breath. The air was so crisp, so clean. He knelt down to pluck a flower from its batch. He rolled the stem between his fingers. He wondered what would happen if they found Grounders. Nahh. They wouldn't find Grounders. They kept to themselves. It looked at the moment as if Finn was giving her a flower. That wasn't worth being killed over. There was no worries. He continued on, walking towards the desired meeting place. He could already plot in his head how the day was going to be. Well, that was until they ACTUALLY found a Grounder village. They wouldn't come across one though, he predicted. There was one thing that was a residual certainty. Peace needed to be achieved. What better way to do that then show whoever might be stalking them; he was just a simply guy giving a cute girl a flower. That was it. No string, no tricks. Nothing was going to happen today. He was almost on the meeting place now. Not like Finn was bold enough to incite any danger from the Grounders. Apart from the injury that Jasper had sustained. That was all the danger they were going to get. Nothing more could possibly happen. Unless something or someone actually made an effort to piss off the Grounders. It wasn't going to happen today. Finn rounded a tree, and soon enough the large rock filled his vision. He had started to know these woods like the back of his hand. Then her, Octavia. Sorry I am late, darlin'. Had to be sure we weren't followed. that would have been bad. Last thing he needed was the brother ruining his romancing. He stepped forward, one hand slowly coming out, We're good. All clear. he lightly pushed her hair to the side to make room for the flower, sliding the stem first. How about we go see what this wood hide? Even though he wanted to stay in this spot, make the moment last. They still had business to take care of.

Octavia Blake
I don't want to survive. I want to live.
Octavia heard him walking up, but not until he was close. She didn't know how the grounds seem to always know where they were, but she wished she could do it. Finn was the closest thing they had to a tracker, and was good! She was very willing to learn everything she could from him. She wanted to explore EVERYTHING down here! She wanted to climb the trees, and swim in the water! She had been locked up for 16 years and she wanted to enjoy her freedom now! O loved the Earth! The smells after a rain, the butterflies, the way everything was a flourish of color! Nothing was steal, grey and cold here! Everything was warm and bold and she wanted to be just as wild!
Finn moved her hair and tucked a flower there, and once again she smiled. The last one, Monty had told her was poison, but apparently it was only so if you ate it and she wasn't planning on eating it. Beautiful and deadly. Oh to be a flower. He spoke, saying he had wanted to make sure they weren't followed and she thought again of her brother, who would make Finn's life hell for this if they were caught. "Yeah! Lets get out of here!" She agreed, not wanting anything to stop them or ruin this day! They were free, and she was going to enjoy being bold with him. "Lead the way," she teased, knowing that she was still learning how to find her way around and would need him to guide them until she got her barrings.
