Tag: @linkon whatever THE HELL WE WANT "You know what I meant."
"I used to."
Those were the words that he and Lincoln had parted on. The recent actions of Pike, himself and the others were not well received by the minority of others who seemed to instantaneously trust Grounders. Lincoln, Bellamy could understand. But Kane, Clarke, Abby . . . they all seemed to be blinded by the past. By the actions of Grounders' constantly betrayal when it came to their people. Bellamy refused to pull the cloth over his eyes and shield himself from the cold, hard truth. They could not be trusted. No evidence had suggested otherwise.
And so when discovering an army surrounding them had come . . . Bellamy was in favor of Pike's decisions. He still believed they went too far, but he also couldn't deny that that army, would be just as swift to kill them. Supposedly there to protect them. Taking a deep breath, Bellamy made his way down the halls, seeing the exact person that he wanted to seek out. Without a word, he crossed Lincoln, taking his arm and pulling him into a secluded corner so that he could speak to him privately. "You need to be careful." Bellamy's voice was low so that they would not be overheard.
He could see it in Lincoln's eyes; he was a ticking time bomb and it was only a matter of time before he would explode. Just like Kane. Just like Octavia. Bellamy could only protect them so much, and all he cuold do was warn them. He didn't want to lose any of them, and he feared what would happen if they made their protests known. Pike would not tolerate it. "Pike has a close eye on you and if you act out, I won't be able to protect you." Because he couldn't promise that Pike would not hold Lincoln to the same standards as he did other Grounders.

Lincoln was torn but for him that wasn't anything new. Arkers versus Grounders with no end in sight. His commander had done a brave thing by allowing Skaikru to join their coalition and now the Arkers were throwing that all away. In addition, they were going to kill the army sent to protect the Arkers from those who disagreed with the commander - especially Azgeda. He'd been angry, disgusted and disappointed, especially with his brother of the heart. He had hoped Bellamy would choose differently in order to protect his people. This extreme length was not something he agreed with. They'd sentenced themselves to death by their actions.
Lincoln was also heartbroken that they didn't trust his people enough. He understood their wariness to his commander and to Azgeda but those who were murdered were his. Trikru warriors. Those who followed the commander's word and would protect the Arkers with their lives. And now they were dead. All three hundred(well two hundred and ninty nine since Indra was spared). How many were those he knew? Those who grew up with? And while they were out, busy protecting their people from the army that would lay down their lives for Skaikru, Lincoln was busy trying to protect his own. They were in the lion's den now, his people trapped with no way out.
He helped the sick and the injured, trying to quell their growing fears while he knew they wouldn't simply be let go. Too risky and if Pike was any decent leader he would keep them prisoner. His people knew too much. They saw the inside of Arkadia, could pinpoint where the guards were stationed, what places to hit to cause the most internal damage.
As he walked along, feeling stifled in the guards uniform he wore, Bellamy seemed to come out of nowhere and grabbed his arm. He let Bell pull him to a more secluded room even though he simmered with anger at his brother of the heart. "It's not me that needs protecting. It's my people." Lincoln pointed out. "You know, the ones who aren't warriors. Who will now die in this prison made of metal."

Tag: @linkon whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy fully understood that need and concern for ones people. That was often the struggle wasn't it? Doing anything and everything for your own people. Prioritizing them, above all else. It was why the Mountain Men did what they did. Why Lexa left them. Why Pike acted how he needed to now. Everyone did what they had to do . . . for their people. But it currently made it no easier to be at odds with someone that Bellamy considered one of his people. Lincoln was an exception to the normal Grounder. He had proven time and time again that he would be willing to fight for them, to protect them.
Bellamy respected him emphatically, which was why he needed to warn him now. The guardsman truly believed that with time, Pike could see Lincoln for the great man he was. But the fear of that time being short and not fully given was what scared Bellamy. "We can't let them go," Bellamy told him. He knew why Pike stopped their treatment. With the destruction of Mount Weather, their medical supplies were severely limited.
Furthermore, they couldn't release them with their knowledge of the insides of Arkadia. The war had never stopped, and it was going to get a lot worse now. But . . . Pike hadn't killed them. And that, gave Bellamy hope that he could protect them. "But you have my word, that I'll do whatever I can to keep them alive." Their illness would clearly not kill them. Bellamy just had to convince Pike not to do it either. "But if you go against him, Lincoln, he won't hold back." Because it would be considered treason. And that crime was punishable by death.
