Thalia woke before the sun broke its golden brow over the horizon. In the dark she righted her clothing, zipping up her thick black pants, righting the blue shirt that had faded into grey, and pulling on her thick jacket. Boots were the last to go on, chilled from the early morning still and waiting to be warmed by her clothed toes. Even with the layers, she still shivered a bit.
Today was the day. She wouldn't be holed up in this camp of turmoil any longer. So what if there were Grounders out there? She'd just stay out of their way and off their paths. If she came across any of their homes, she make herself scarce. Simple enough. Thalia was confident in her own survival skills. She could dig up ground veggies, trap small game and knew how to cook and clean all of them. She even knew how to spice them up with certain herbs. Fires could be kept small and she had her sleeping bag, so she'd be good on warmth for now.
It was shelter and illness that would be the difficult things to deal with. She knew small first aid and she knew how to make temporary shelter, but long term... Not to mention she'd be in trouble if she got a serious injury or was immobilized due to illness. But then again, it was risk those problems, or risk being called an enemy in the Arker's camp.
Because that was what it was now. It wasn't just a camp. It was camp for the ignorant Arkers who thought they could revert to their old ways, push aside the rules of Earth and just kill every Grounder they came across. Ceasefires were flimsy at most. Those trigger happy fools guarding them all while Pike tried to gain power were bound to shot anything out there that moved.
And Starlight Save anyone who sympathized with the Grounders. Thalia could see the tides changing and she didn't like the direction they were flowing in. So she was getting out. ASAP. Better to die from Grounder or injury, than to die where all Arker born people should be safe no matter their opinions. Quietly she moved through the slowly lightening dark.
When she got to fence, she was careful to find the place that she had scoped out to have the largest gap in defense. Only to come across a very unwelcome sight. Nova Blow It All. Looks like she wasn't the only one to find the weakness in the fence. Why was there a guard stationed here at this hour?! Man oh man, this entire thing just got a bit more complicated.
