whatever THE HELL WE WANT Despite the ceasefire, Bellamy was hardly convinced that this was the end of the war. That this was true peace. His people may believe, but he did not. It was why he still went out there, outside Arkadia, armed and prepared for any potential attack. He was equipped with what he had now: a large gun, a smaller one, a dagger, and the uniform revealing of his guardsman status. Usually, he was with a team. But, things had taken a bit of a drastic turn. They had been ambushed by a group of Grounders, clearly uncaring of the Commander's ceasefire, Bellamy had instructed the others not to shoot to kill -- as he wasn't going to be the one to break it, even if it was a matter of life or death.
Somehow, his people always became the scapegoats, and he sure as hell wasn't going to give them a reason to blame them for this too. So they had run. But Bellamy had instructed the few other guardsman to return to camp, while he diverted the group of attackers in the opposite direction. He left no room for protest. He swiftly ran, making sure it was fast but also ensuring that the enemies could see him, could catch his trail. Unfortunately, he hadn't anticipated the arrow that struck his leg from behind.
The impact of it from the speed he was moving and the way it was delivered, send him soaring to the ground, rolling over a small hill -- which he used to his advantage. With the elevated ground that the others were running on, Bellamy rolled to the side, positioning himself behind a tree with his back rested against it, sitting in an upright position, until he could hear the footsteps of the others fading into the distance. Words of Trigedasleng exchanged between them -- some of which Bellamy knew but he was still learning the language. He held his breath, positive that they were gone, before he looked to his leg. Cringing he inspected the arrow and point of entry. It could be poisoned and if so, then he was already dead.

Oh boy how Nyko had made a habit of sending Ludo off into the forest to find the herbs that was needed to make the mixtures that they needed for healing and what not. It was something Ludo did enjoy doing the first period of his training but now it was absolutely boring. He had walked a few miles when he first started looking down on the ground and sometimes up to find what he was looking for. Some herbs was found quickly but others where much more rare and he had to cover a lot more ground before finding those ingredients.
He was squatting over some discovered rare herbs when he first heard the noise from a chase. At first he thought it was a hunt of some sort of animal but hearing the howls from fellow grounders he knew that it was a manhunt. A manhunt for a grounder that had somehow violated the new peace-ordering. Ludo never really wanted that peace with the Arkers. They were not to be trusted surtainly not from all the pain they had brought upon his people. Though he really wanted to join in on the manhunt he knew that if he did Nyko would cut him places he wouldn’t be able to cure or fix before he would be dead so he calmed himself and kept dealing with the herb in front of him by the root of the tree right until something or should I say someone came rolling down the hill towards the place where he was.
His knife was in his hand faster than one could blink and he sat still watching the person who had rolled down. From the first look at him Ludo knew it was an Arker and from the howls coming in close Ludo knew it was the Arker that they were chasing. Slowly he got up with out moving his eyes from the guy and still with his knife in his hand. Should he call out the guy? Bellamy Blake

whatever THE HELL WE WANT It took Bellamy a moment, before he noticed the figure standing before him. Instantly recognizable as a Grounder. Bellamy could feel his shoulders slightly tense, the strap of his gun slung over his shoulder, though Bellamy's hand was still on the weapon. He just stared at the Grounder, refusing to show any sort of submission or plea for his life. Bellamy ahd learned that it made no difference. That they would do whatever they damn well pleased.
That they didn't have any honor. Well, with the rare exceptions like Lincoln. Hell, he didn't even know if the Grounder spoke English. Bellamy wasn't going to provoke another war, but as he previously acknowledged . . . the war wasn't over. And this, what happened next, could very well make him a causality of one. He was practically waiting for the Grounder to call out to the others; to gain their attention and out his hiding place.
But so far, he hadn't spoken. And Bellamy didn't like the anticipation; the uncertainty. The unknown. "Whatever you're going to do, get on with it," he said in a blunt tone. If he was going to call out to the others, leave him here to die, or just finish the job for them. Whatever the Grounder's decision, Bellamy was as prepared as he could be. He wouldn't shoot the man unprovoked . . . but like hell he would just sit here and let him finish him off.

There were no doubt that this Arker despised him with he saw Ludo and Ludo wasn't going to say that he loved the Arker from the very first site. It did came to his attention that this guy had an arrow sticking out if his leg and that it would be trouble for him to outrun anybody with that injured leg. Ludo stared at it for a few seconds and came to the conclusion that it wasn't a poisoned arrow but the Arker would not be sure of that and the guy was probably thinking of a way out of his situation even though nothing was in his favour.
"The arrow is not poisoned.." he said, quickly walking towards the Arker to get a closer look at the arrow. His knife was still in his hand when he got closer but he wasn't going close enough to be in the Arkers range. ".. But you will not get far with that leg.." he concluded after looking at the the injury. Ludo did not care for this guy and was surely not to help this guy yet he just told him that it wasn't a poisoned arrow. Why he told him that Ludo did not know and why he did not call him out to his fellow Grounder he did not know either. He wrinkled his nose, huffed and stood up from his squatting position he had got into when examine the leg. The Arker would die out here with that leg and that was fair enough. Ludo then made up his mind and turned his back on the guy to leave him to die. He had herbs to collect and that was far more important than helping an Arker like that one.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy watched the Grounder continue to near him, causing Bellamy to tense ever so slighty. He was used to maintaining a stoic demeanour -- a lifetime of practice on the Ark because every moment of every day, required remaining composed, calm . . . the midst of protecting Octavia. It was a useful skill that remained with him now, even in the wake of this disadvantage. Bellamy's eyes fell to the dagger in the Grounder's hand, as she crouched, seemingly to inspect his wound of sorts. He easily deduced that it was not poisoned. Bellamy almost wanted to ask how he knew, but then . . . he sounded confident. And best not to question it.
It was true that the Grounder could be lying . . . but what was the point? Wouldn't he prefer to gloat if the arrow had indeed been poisoned. There was relief that swept over Bellamy, but it only settled part of his issue. The grounder's next comment addressing the rest of it. "You offering to amputate it for me?" He asked with a bit of sarcasm, a reference to the weapon he held, and the diagnosis. But then the Grounder turned away to leave. Bellamy wasn't sure if he felt relieved or disappointed. The male wasn't calling out to the others. It seemed he was content with leaving Bellamy out here. Not that he expected anything different. Leaving Skaikru to die was the Grounders speciality. Taking a deep breath, Bellamy broke the end of the arrow that was protruding from his leg. A sharply inhaled, a small sound of pain at the jostling of his wound.
He didn't pull it out, leaving the tip of it wedge firmly inside his flesh. The only thing he could do was minimize the movement and bleeding. Reaching inside his pocket he pulled out a dirty cloth, and proceeded to wrap it around his leg. Another deep breath, and he forced himself to stand on his feet, using the trunk he was leaned against to help him out. The action over exerted his body and he was now leaning against the tree in a somewhat standing position, putting all the pressure on his uninjured leg. He needed to brace himself, as he focused on taking a few deep breaths. His attempt to take on step forward resulted in a hobble, and practically hopped over to the next tree so that he could once again, lean his weight against it. "Son of a bitch," he cursed under his breath, trying to stay calm and fight through the pain. There was no way in hell he was going to be able to get back to Arkadia in this state.

Oh this Arker was good. Without the guy being able to see the grin that came across Ludo's face for a short while he must admit to being amused by the question from the Arker. When he finished being amused which left his face as soon as it got there he turned to face the guy on the ground right when the Skaikru chose to break off the arrow leaving the tip inside his leg. So they are not as fragile as he might had thought, was a volatile thought that crossed his mind and Ludo took a resting position watching the Arker fumble around with dirty cloths and a somewhat pathetic try to move from one place to another. He squinted at the guy trying not to interrubt his was but something took over. Pity? His healer instinct? Oh Ludo couldn't tell and stepped towards the injured once again - this time without the knife in his hands. "Sit.." he commanded while walking towards the Arker and repeated himself when he was close to the guy, "I said... Sit down! Let me have a look" while forcing the guy to the ground by kicking his uninjured leg out of balance. He squatted next to the guy giving him a look that said something like; bite me.. I am helping you now.
"Now.. Try not to move!" he said and opened up for the dirty cloth's pressure. He had to get the tip of the arrow out of the leg, that was easy and he had just the right method to do so. What would come next was to stop the bleeding as quick as possible and for that he needed something he did not have in his bag.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy wasn't sure what had shifted in the Grounders decision or mindset . . .but clearly, something had. For the next thing he knew, the male was telling him to sit. Bellamy just stared at him, having no intention of complying. He didn't exactly make a good patient. Even less so when it was a Grounder telling him to do something. The distrust between their people still immense. "I'm not a damn dog," he muttered in a low voice, unamused by the attempt to get him to listen. Bellamy almost wanted to prove to him that he didn't need his help -- knowing that his emotional bias often clouded his judgment. And right now, he was compromised. Physically. And deep down, knew he wouldn't be able to get far.
It was as if this grounder had anticipated his lack of compliance and willingness to listen, for the next thing he knew, he was swept off from under his feet -- his unwounded leg unexpectedly kicked to the ground. The fall itself didn't hurt, but the sudden impact to the ground had been surprising. Bellamy quickly recovered, eying the grounder as he reiterated his command. The gun otherwise slung around his shoulder set aside as it had slipped.
Bellamy didn't feel comfortable without it right in his hand but . . . something told him he wouldn't need it. Even if he had no idea what game this guy was playing at. Bellamy almost jolted from his touch, though watched as he seemed to know what he was doing, removing the dirtied cloth that Bellamy had placed there to help somewhat control the bleeding. "Why are you helping me?" He questioned, his inquiry blunt, suspicious, his eyes fixed on the male rather than the wound. "What do you want?" In return, because Bellamy didn't want to owe the Grounders a damn thing.

Ludo did not want to answer the guy's question. The Arker would be much easier to work with if he did not say a word but Ludo did not expect this wish to be fulfilled. Therefore he stopped looking at his new patient and started searching the ground for what he needed when the arrowhead was removed from the wound. On the rocky outcrop where they were hiding found what he was looking for and he took a huge lump of the green, moist moss back to the Arker while brushing most of the dirty bits of it. He got down on the ground again next to the wound and pulled his bag in front of him and took some time to rummaged around it until he found what he was looking for. It was a funny looking, mouldy root he pulled out from his bag and then he started chewing it thoroughly and spat it out in his hands when he was satisfied with the texture of the root. He then put the chewed root on the top of the moss and then he focused on the Arker. "I am caunting to three and then I pull it out" he said referring to the arrowhead. he looked at guy searching for him being ready for this, and then he put his one hand on the leg and the other on the arrow. "1..." and he pulled fast and did not hesitate on looking on the weapon. The wound started bleeding right away and Ludo was quick about putting the moss on the injury with the chewed root against the opening of it. Ludo then put a whole lot of pressure on the moss while fetching some homemade string from his bag. He bound it around the moss and the leg and then he looked at the guy, "I just felt like helping you"

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy wasn't sure what to make of the Grounder's silence. The unanswered question lingering in the air and making Bellamy feel tense. Not just due to the wound but due to the potential repayment. It was true that the Arkers had offered their medical resources and supplies to help the Grounders, but the former co leader didn't expect anything in return. He didn't want anything in return. Wounds were still healing -- perhaps to no true success -- over what happened at Mount Weather. All he could do was watch him, as he searched his bag, pulling out something he chewed and spit onto the moss.
Bellamy withheld an expression that would reveal his distaste toward that. Something told him it was going to be administered onto his wound. The Grounder then spoke, saying he would pull it out on the count of three. Bellamy gave a short nod, swallowing as he braced himself for the countdown. It didn't get past one. As soon as he got to the first number, he yanked it out, causing a slight sound of pain to escape Bellamy, trying to bite it back but knew that some of it inevitably escaped. Hopefully the other grounders were far enough away that they wouldn't be able to hear it . . . and that he hadn't just drawn attention back to himself.
Once it was out, he felt something smeared against it, and it took Bellamy several moments of deep breathing, trying to regain his composure from the sudden onslaught of pain, to properly look down and see what it was. Some sort of medicine. His words were what Bellamy focused on more than anything else, needing to distract himself from the throbbing pain of where the arrow and pierced his skin. "You're people don't usually just want to help us," he said as more of a fact rather than an insult or accusation. It wasn't. It was merely what history had proven. "What makes you so different?" Bellamy asked him, his eyes now resting on the face of the man who may have just saved his life.

Ludo looked at the guy when this one spoke about his people not doing anything pro-bono and Ludo did agree to that but that was not something the Arker were to know of. "Listen.. You're wounded! The only thing I am going to collect something from is not letting my people know that you were down here!" he said and started packing his things back into his bag while speaking to the Arker. When done Ludo looked back at the guy and then nodded at the bandage he had made on the wound "the root will stop both the bleeding and pain" he said leaving no doubt that it was far from fixed just from the root and the moss. If he were to be able to walk back to Arkadia then the guy that to gain more strength than he possessed at this moment. Ludo got up from his sitting position and without any warning he grabbed the guy by the arm helping him up from his arrangements on the ground. "You're coming with me.. No arguments!" he said leading the guy's arm around his neck for support because the leg were not to be in any movement if possible. When being so close to the Arker he again wrinkled his nose at him and then said "you do not smell like roses at all!". Ludo lead the Arker to Nykos place where the guy would be able to lay down, get food and water to gain the strength he needed to get back to Arkadia.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT The more the Grounder spoke, the more confused Bellamy became. Not because he didn't understand what he was saying. But because . . . he didn't understand why he was saying it. Why he was so willing to help him. To protect him from his own people. It made Bellamy more curious than suspicious at this point, but the latter was not far from his mind. "Why?" Bellamy demanded, still trying to figure out how he was protecting him, healing him . . . saving him. Did he want him alive to extract information about his people? No. He wouldn't go through all this trouble to heal him if only to end his life or torture him later. Was there really no ulterior motive? How could that be?
He was still trying to process his first words, before he added that the root would help the bleeding and pain. Before Bellamy knew it though, he was pulled to his feet, and practically dragged along with the Grounder. He may have said no arguments, but Bellamy wasn't exactly the type to go so easily . . .or willingly. At the same time, his protest was minimal. He felt drained, the aftermath of his injury starting to take a toll on him. "Wait!" He protested, to no avail. Still clutching his gun to him as if his life depended on it, when in actuality, his life was dependant on the man taking him along with him. Bellamy was leaning against him, as it helped alleviate some of the weight.
Rationality dictated that he should take his chances going with this guy. He wasn't going to make it back to Arkadia like this. No way in hell. But . . . his emotions were screaming for him to run the other way. Right now, it seemed rationality was winning. That, and the Grounder had a firm grasp on him. "Where the hell are you taking me?" His asked, his voice not as stern as he would have otherwise vocalized the question. He was getting weaker, and he hated that. He made a bit of a face when the Grounder insulted his smell.
"You spit sticks and smeared moss on me. What did you expect I was gonna smell like?" He rhetorically questioned, shifting the blame of his smell to the fault of the grounder. "What was that stuff anyway?" He questioned, figuring he may even be able to learn a thing or two. Bellamy was wondering if this guy was even a warrior like most other grounders he had come across. "And for the record, you don't smell so great either," he mumbled. Usually he didn't partake in such insults but right now, he was going to blame his current condition on his ever so slightly hindered state of mind.

How on earth would Ludo really be able to answer the question without giving away that in some way he was a softy that would like to help whoever to get out of their pain? With the simple question the Arker had asked he was in torn between two thought on the matter. There were some pride in being careless about race, location and language and Ludo was proud of being that kind of a man but still a huge and almost dominating thought told him that this was a weakness he had to get rid of. Nyko had made him think that in Healing you help no matter what the situation was and it was his upbringing by his father that told him that it was a weakness.. A fault in his character to think like that.
In the end Ludo chose to answer the guy - even with conviction that he had to go with what he thought about himself and what he thought to be the best way of being a healer. "I help you because you're in pain. No one should be and killing you would go against my perspective of how to be a true healer.." when he had said that he was surprised by how much he just said to the Arker and how true the words were to him. He had never said it out loud like that and then he put back on his stone face because he had shown the guy enough for this time being.
An irritated sigh left Ludo's lets as the guy got even more annoying from all the stalling. Sure the guy was getting more and more weak and Ludo know that he would have to carry him more and more as the time flew by. The bandage was only a temporary one and it had to be replaced by something better than that and soon. "Listen.. I am taking you back to my place. There I have food and better materials to actual heal your leg!" he said leaving out maybe the most important detail - that his place was away from crowded surroundings and that they would be alone for the time being. The Arker would have to figure that out himself and Ludo knew that he would eventually. What grounder would really take an Arker to the village and then ask them to back off because this was a patient. Oh no.. No one would do so and had it been the other way around the scenario would not be any different.
Ludo did not want to wait anymore and made the Arker walk again by forcing him to do so. A tiny smile appeared on his mouth when the Arker said that he was stinky too and Ludo would not not say that he wasn't stinky. "I used Alum Root.. Normally used to stop bleedings and some other stuff that is not needed in this situation" he replied without looking at the guy. While replying he thought of the quickest way home and when he had made up his mind he started going more left.
