The night sky was gorgeous again. The stars twinkling in the moonlight as Lizi sat outside her quarters. She had spent so many nights wondering what was out there and wondering what the land was like. Behind her she had her pack just a few clothes and stuff in it. Tomac and had come back to do some trading and she was going to try and sneak into the boat. This was something that she had bee planning for awhile. But until now, she had been afraid to do it. She prayed that he would not find her before they got to land and she knew that this was taking a risk. The stories that she had heard about the grounders were scary at best. Most of them violent. But then she was not go to let that stop her. Maybe she could do some good. She had spent a lot of time being the peacemaker on the ship when the kids would start acting up. But she had a few books on peace. They were old now, tattered and torn. But she read them like a bible. She had them packed as well. War and Peace and How to Win Friends and Influence People. Though she didn't go by those. She went by matters of the heart. She was a gentle soul and you could see it in her eyes.
She watch closely as the it appeared that Tomac had disappeared into the trading post for one last time and she moved quickly. She was light on her feet as she grabbed her bag and darted toward the boat. Climbing down the ladder off of the oil rig, she glanced around the boat. The best spot that she could see was a bunch of blankets on the one end and that was right where she headed. It was none to soon as she heard footsteps on the rig above her. Soon she heard voices and felt the boat rock slightly. This was it. She prayed that she didn't get caught and that she could get to the mainland. She closed her eyes and remained absolutely still. She didn't know how many people were around or if Luna was even there. She had not seen the boat come in. But she saw it when she woke up that morning. The voices continued for a bit and and she realized that the was more stuff to come onto the boat. So she lay there quietly. Thank goodness she was comfortable for the moment, but she knew that after a few hours, she would feel stiff. For now though, she remained quiet and waited patiently for them boat to set sail.
