Tag: @harpermcintyre whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy had never been one to consume alcohol. On the Ark it had been due to the need to protect his sister. The fear of compromising himself, and thus, risking saying something that could expose his sister and mother. On the Ground, it had been for different reasons but the logic of not wishing to compromise himself remained. He wanted to remain fully in his senses; should the threat of Grounders emerge. Tonight, he had no intention of drinking heavily. He was trying a new mix, made with a new berry that they were experimenting on. And joining him, was Harper. It was unplanned, but her company was most welcome.
One of the original delinquents sent to the ground, and one of the people who had suffered at the hands of the Mountain Men. But most every was healing from that. Physically at least. Psychologically, mentally, emotionally . . . that was a whole other story. But right now, he was allowing the distraction. Being in the hangar in good company, with a good drink, and with a slowly dwindling crowd.
"This stuff is pretty damn good," he stated, not sure why he felt so relaxed right now. Nor was he going to question it. "Better than nuts. Less crunchy." He slightly scoffed at that statement, clearly, some sort of innuendo about crunchy nuts hanging in his words. He didn't even know where the mention of nuts came from. Perhaps because they were placed at the bar, in a small bowl. But still. He looked at Harper, eyes glossed over with a relaxation that he wasn't used to allowing himself. "Do people ever call you Harp for short?" He inquired randomly, as if it was the most serious question in all the world.

This is my Fight Song--TAKE BACK MY LIFE SONG, PROVE I'M ALRIGHT SONGWhile Harper spent so much of her time training she was never one to turn down some fun. She never had been and her mission of becoming stronger was not going to change that fact. At least once a week Harper found herself going out for a drink, usually with friends and even occasionally alone. It didn't take her long to find someone to drink and talk with. It was one of those sorts of days, where she hadn't had any plans to spend her night with anyone but she had known she needed to go out and relax. That was how she had ended up sitting with Bellamy, trying some new drink that was surprisingly a lot better than she had expected it to be. To be honest, she had tried a few new drinks. They seemed to be always trying new things as different fruits and berries were found when people went gathering. It wasn't that they found too many new things, it was that they managed to find a million different ways to mix them. Harper never really tended to enjoy the new drinks.
So she was happy with this particular one. Extremely happy. Actually, she couldn't remember ever feeling so happy over a drink. It was great. And Bellamy seemed to agree. "It's really really good," Harper replied, grinning. At Bellamy's nuts comment, Harper laughed. She wasn't even sure why she found it funny because it wasn't but...it sort of was funny. "I don't know, nuts are pretty good too." Harper picked up a couple of nuts from the bowl on the bar, chucking them into her mouth to eat. They definitely were crunchy like Bellamy had mentioned. "Yeah, crunchy," she confirmed, laughing again. She didn't quite enjoy the taste of the nuts in her mouth, they weren't as good as the drink so she picked up her glass to take another sip.
When Bellamy looked over at her, Harper smiled lazily. At his question, she nodded a couple of times. "They do," she told him, copying his level of seriousness. "That's a bit weird though, I don't play the Harp." She thought for a moment, trying to remember if they even had a harp anywhere. If they did, maybe Harper should try to play it. Maybe then it would make sense why people called her that. "Bell, do you think we..." she trailed off and into a laugh. "Oh, people call you Bell. Can you ring bells?" She didn't know if they had any bells for him to ring actually, if she really thought about it. That was sort of disappointing. |

Tag: @harpermcintyre whatever THE HELL WE WANT Crunchy nuts. Why did that seem so enticing? Why was he watching her eat them so intently? Why did he suddenly want some of his own? He followed her actions, popping one in his mouth, though not taking his eyes off of Harper for a single moment. "Nice and hard," he added on, offering more innuendos as he swallowed them down with the drink. The nuts were far too bland, but who were they to complain about food. He smiled when Harper confirmed that people called her Harp. "Maybe you should learn then," he suggested. He turned around to look at the crowd for a moment.
"Anyone here got a Harp?!" He questioned, or announced. A few heads turned but were clearly ignoring him. Bellamy's face fell with disappointment, turning back to face Harper once more. "Unhelpful bastards," he grumbled, finishing his drink . . . as if it was able to suddenly uplift his mood once more. Though, maybe it was her question that did that. About bells. OH! Right! Because Bell, and bell! The realization made him chuckle.
"I could," he said confidently. "If I had a bell to ring," he added. He leaned toward Harper, speaking in a low voice as if to share a grand secret with her. "I'm not gonna ask those people again. They didn't even offer a Harp." Drawing back with a shrug, he took another sip, wishing that this bellicious beverage would never end. "We can make our own bell though," he suggested, a notion suddenly coming to him. He titled his head toward her. "Pull a lock," of his curly hair. Not out of course, but just a tug.

This is my Fight Song--TAKE BACK MY LIFE SONG, PROVE I'M ALRIGHT SONGNuts. Harper continued to giggle as Bellamy ate some while his eyes stayed on her. His words just fueled the laughter and she found that it was difficult to stop, really. Hard, crunchy nuts. It was so funny she didn't think she would ever be able to stop laughing at it. But she heard that little tone in his words and her eyebrows moved up and down a couple times as she snorted. And she stopped laughing, if only for the seriousness that the subject of Harp held. It was definitely a very serious subject.
That was exactly what Harper could do, she could learn to play the harp. That sounded like a belliant idea! "Oooh, then it'll all make sense!" she exclaimed. It couldn't be that hard to play, after all and she had basically been born to play it. She was Harper. She was a harper. Harper found herself bouncing slightly in her seat expectantly when Bell called out for a harp. Of course, someone would have to a harp. They had a piano, after all. Why would they not have a harp? But then Bellamy turned back to her and the disappointment was clear on his face. No harp for Harp. Unhelpful bastards they were. They probably had a harp but didn't want to share. Well then, Harp didn't need a harp. "Harps aren't cool anyway," she muttered.
Seeing Bellamy take another sip of his drink, Harper followed suit and the liquid really did keep her mood high. Who needed a harp? A bell, however, well Bell seemed to have an idea about that and Harper was intrigued as to what it was. "No, don't ask them!" Harper told him, nodding her head and leaning closer to Bell even as he pulled back. "Our Bell will be better a better bell!" She grinned and reached her hand out to grab hold of a lock of Bellamy's hair. It was soft. She was sure it would make a great bell. "One, two, three..." On three, Harper pulled on the lock of hair, just softly. As she as it felt she pulled. |

Tag: @harpermcintyre whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy felt his heart racing in anticipation when she started counting down. She was right; their bell would be better than any other damn bell someone could offer. When she got to three, Bellamy made a noise that a bell made . . . suddenly exclaiming "Ding dong!" The laughter that came after prevented him from being able to make any other bell type noises. Since, he of course knew there was more than one. When the amusement subsided enough for him to speak, he continued.
"You were so right. Our bell is better." And if she pulled another lock of hair, then he would make a different type of bell sound. Oh this was wonderful! They were literally making their own music and it was incredible! "Anything I can pull on you to make harp noises?" He asked her, not even certain if there was a suggestive tone in his voice. He couldn't use his judgment right now. He was too amused; too humored by this entire situation. He cocked his head to the side, as if inspecting her. "Can you play your hair like a harp?" The question hardly made sense, but in Bellamy's current inebriated mind . . . it was a perfectly valid question.

This is my Fight Song--TAKE BACK MY LIFE SONG, PROVE I'M ALRIGHT SONGWhen Bell made a sound like a bell, Harper dropped her hand from his hair to start applauding. Their bell was definitely better than any bell that other people would give them and Harper felt such an excitement about that. Bell really was a bell and he was a good bell and that was absolutely perfect. Now he was laughing and Harper couldn't help but laugh right along with him. It was also quite amusing, their bell that was. When she calmed from her laughter she went to pick up her drink, finding that it was empty. That was disappointing, she did really love that drink but they had a bell and now Bellamy was talking about her being a harp and Harper's attention easily moved onto that. She could get more drink later and she pushed her drink back on the bar in hopes it would make more appear.
Harper giggled at Bellamy's comment. It was definitely funny. Harps weren't pulled, at least she thought they weren't, so why would Bellamy pull something on her to make the noise? Still, her face turned serious as she tried to think if there was something that could be pulled to make harp noises. While she thought, she lifted her hand up again to pull another lock of Bellamy's hair. Maybe the sound of their bell would help her to think. His hair was distracting though, so soft. She wanted to pet it and wondered if he had a bunny living in it. Bunnies were soft. "Oh!" Harper's face lit up in excitement at Bellamy's question about her hair. "Of course, my hair!" She grabbed the end of a bunch of hair, pulling it so that it was straight and leaned towards Bellamy. "There we go. Play it," she told him, bouncing on her seat. |

Tag: @harpermcintyre whatever THE HELL WE WANT He loved hearing her laugh. It was such a jovial, melodic sound. Even in his compromised state, he was recognizing of the rarity of it. People needed to laugh more. Why didn't they? He smiled when she tugged a lock of his hair again, finding that he liked it when she touched his hair. He'd almost even gotten distracted for a moment! But fortunately, he recovered himself. "Rrrriinngg," he exclaimed, making a sound like another bell, since she had pulled another lock. Not that he could even remember which ones she pulled.
It didn't matter though! Her hands felt nice. It was always comforting when someone ran their hands through his hair . . . he almost asked her to do that. But was instantly distracted by her offering her own luscious locks. His smile widened, raising his hand as if deciding how to play her hair. Finally, he settled on a couple 'cords' or locks. His finger gave a slight tug, though not to pull it from her grasp where she was holding it straight.
He tried to play another one, and then another. Hey, it almost made a song! "You have a golden harp," he told her. Because, well, her hair was golden! Golden, beautiful locks of gold. "Did you ever hear the story of Goldilocks and the thre bears? Well, you're like goldilocks. With your gold locks." And it was soft. Soft gold. Damn, he felt rich right now, and his finger just starting to slide over her strand, watching his actions intently and with the utmost focus.

This is my Fight Song--TAKE BACK MY LIFE SONG, PROVE I'M ALRIGHT SONGBellamy played her harp by tugging on locks of her hair and as he did, Harper sang out random notes using the word "bing." To her, it sounded like the most beautiful harp ever. She was a great harp, like Bellamy was a great bell. They could form an orchestra! Oh, Harper really did like that idea. Harp and the Bell. That's what they could be called. It would be great and wonderful and Harper giggled at her idea. "Harp and the Bell," she told Bellamy, fully expecting him to understand what she meant. She reached up and slid her fingers into his hair, not to play the bell but just because she wanted to feel his soft hair again. It was really soft. She would have no troubles touching it all night long, really, and she didn't know how Bellamy didn't want to touch his hair all the time. It was soft.
"Yes! That's it!" Harper exclaimed as Bellamy started to talk about Goldilocks and Three Bears. That was it! "Your hair, that's it. I'm Goldilocks and you're one of the bears. Bears have soft hair, now it makes sense!" She grinned brightly, proud of the fact that she had worked it out. No, he didn't have a bunny in his hair. He was just one of the bears. Like she was Goldilocks. Goldilocks with the golden harp. She dropped her hand that was still holding her own hair and lifted it to join her other in his hair. "Hey," she began, tugging slightly at his hair with both her hands to make sure she had his attention. "Did you know that your hair is really soft?" She giggled as she asked him the question, tangling her fingers in his soft, soft locks. |

Tag: @harpermcintyre whatever THE HELL WE WANT Harp and Bell! That sounds so perfect! "We could start our own band with a kick ass name like that," he said proudly. It just sounded so . . . perfect. Flowed so well together. Harp and Bell. Plus, both things were musical. And well, Harper was very musical with the noises she made as he strung the cords of her hair. When she slipped her hand into his own however, he closed his eyes, a wide smile spread over his lips as she seemed to reach some sort of epiphany.
Exclaiming that he was a bear because they had soft hair. "I can be a bear," he added on . . . not overly thinking of anything as he was basking in the incredible sensation of her slender fingers running through his curly locks. As if each strand of his hair was just aching to be touched. Damn it, he shouldn't be getting turned on right now. Her other hand joined him and he felt even more fargone. He was still able to form somewhat cohesive sentences . . . somehow.
"Are you sure its my hair and not your fingers that are soft?" He asked, eyes closed and the unwavering grin on his mouth. "Because this feels amazing." So incredibly amazing. His disjointed thoughts leading him back to the previous conversation. "I could be papa bear," he suddenly suggested. He didn't do well as mama bear, and he sure wasn't the kid. "What do you think?" He asked, slowly opening his eyes which were glazed over with enjoyment. "Papa bellear?" The pun escaping him without even realization.

This is my Fight Song--TAKE BACK MY LIFE SONG, PROVE I'M ALRIGHT SONGBellamy's eye were closed and he was smiling. That sight made Harper smile because he looked so happy and she felt so happy and it was just wonderful. It was like nothing bad could ever happen, that's how happy Harper felt. She could sit there, play her harp and feel just how soft Bellamy's hair was. It really was wonderful. "It's your hair!" she exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear as she continued to moved her fingers through his hair. She pulled at it every so often, just softly and watched the locks straighten and fall back into their curls. It was so much more encouraging to hear him say he liked it and she would never let go of his hair she decided. Bellamy was her bear now and no one else would get to feel his magically soft hair. No one.
Harper nodded. "Papa bear you are," she confirmed and it made sense. He was big and strong like papa bear should be and he didn't really look like mama bear. But then, who was mama bear? She thought hard, trying to work out out while her fingers still moved automatically in his hair. Hmm, she thought, mama bear has to be someone. But she was quickly distracted by that thought by the next thing that Bellamy said. Distracted enough that she could do nothing but laugh and laugh. "Papa bellear," she repeated, somehow managing to get the words out between giggles. It took her a while but she finally calmed down, taking her hands out of Bellamy's hair to hide her face in them. "Maybe I'm actually Harpilocks then," she said, voice muffled by her hands as she tried to use them to stop more giggles. |

Tag: @harpermcintyre whatever THE HELL WE WANT She said it was his hair. He was inclined to agree. Amidst each gentle tug of it, Bellamy occasionally made different bell noises, but he was growing distracted by the sensation of it, even letting out a small hum as Harper's skillful hands worked each long. Damn, she had good hands. Real good hands. He wanted to keep her hands like this forever. When she said something, it took him a few extra moments to process them, and thus, be able to respond.
"Glad you agree," he said with a smirk. "Papa Bellair sounds better than Daddy Bellair," he uselessly pointed out. "Just like Mama bear sounds better than mother bear." He wasn't sure where he was going with this, nor did he even consider it. He felt the immediate loss when she lowered her hand from his hair, but then she referred to herself as Harpilocks. The term made Bellamy laugh, his hand smacking the bar table with his palm out of the sheer amusement of her title.
"Harpilocks! That's perfect! You make such a beautiful Harpilocks." He couldn't remember the last time he had laughed this hard. And it felt pretty damn good. "So now we just need a Mama Bear and a Baby Bear," he said when the laughter finally subsided, a pensive tone in his voice as it met his expression too. His eyes scanning around the crowd before resting on Harper, silently deciding that no one in here would fit the role. Not that he had any idea what that role was. "My bed is too hard." Going with the story, and an underlying tone of suggestiveness in his words, as another chuckle erupted from him.

This is my Fight Song--TAKE BACK MY LIFE SONG, PROVE I'M ALRIGHT SONGBellamy's logic made complete sense to Harper. She nodded at him, a few times and grinned brightly. He was quite smart and they were a great team. It was really wonderful, really. Gosh, Harper believed that they could come up with all the best ideas in the world right now. They were unstoppable. "And Baby Bear sounds a lot better than Infant Bear," she added, feeling quite proud of herself for thinking of that. With that and discovering the softness of Bellamy's hair, things were going so perfectly. Bellamy's laughter at Harper's mention of Harpilocks was perfect. It was as melodic as a bell and now she knew why he was called Bell. He didn't need his hair pulled to be a bell, he was already one. She laughed with him, hands still against her face and found that her face was beginning to ache from all of the laughter. It was hard to stop, extremely hard but then she didn't really feel like she needed to stop.
Harper was laughing so much she didn't really hear when Bellamy spoke, only a sound or two. He might have been talking about harps but Harper didn't know and she didn't particularly care because she was laughing so much. Laughing was so great. She loved it. By the time Bellamy had stopped laughing, Harper was beginning to calm down also. She was able to hear him say that they now needed a Mama Bear and a Baby Bear. Taking a couple of deep breaths, Harper took her hands away from her face and looked around like Bellamy was doing. Bellamy had sounded very serious so Harper wanted to help him in finding his bear family. Bears needed family, too. When Harper looked back at Bellamy, she saw that he was now looking at her. There were no other bears in the room. That was a sad thing.
"Oh!" Harper exclaimed at Bellamy's words. When he laughed again, she couldn't help but join him. It was contagious, it must have been! She laughed with him until she was able to calm down again but by that point she had lost the track of her thoughts and couldn't seem to remember what she was going to say. She frowned, looking at Bellamy as if he might know the words that had disappeared from her mind. "I was gonna say something," she told him, her tone completely serious. She looked down at the counter, wondering if she might find the words there and then looked back up at Bellamy again. "What was I gonna say? The words ran away." Bellamy was smart. He would probably know. |

Tag: @harpermcintyre whatever THE HELL WE WANT Infant Bear. Bloody hell. That was hysterical. Bellamy found himself laughing again, at the mention. Why was his face hurting from laughing so much? He should laugh more. It felt good. Especially laughing with Harper, and hearing the beautiful sound that fell from her lips. "Infant Bear," he repeated between his slowly calming chuckles. "That's gold. As gold as your hair, Harpilocks." The term just suited her so well. Who would have thought. When she seemed to have forgotten what she was going to say, and asked him, Bellamy looked at her pensively. He squinted his eyes a little, as if trying to use his mind reading powers.
"You were going to say . . . " His looked at her, entirely focused and fully concentrated. As if he could see right into her mind. He suddenly became distracted as her words fully processed in his mind. "You're a poet and you didn't even know it!" He exclaimed, laughing again and ignoring the looks that they were getting from the slowly dwindling crowd. "Harpilocks likes to rhyme, apparently at any time." This could go on for a while, and so he drank the remaining contents of his drink . . . whether there was actually any left in there or not, he hadn't the faintest idea.

This is my Fight Song--TAKE BACK MY LIFE SONG, PROVE I'M ALRIGHT SONGHarper suddenly didn't care at all that she had forgotten what she was going to say. It didn't even matter then because she was a poet! Bellamy's words had Harper laughing again, her face aching in protest. If she was a poet, he was the master of poets. His rhymes were perfect. Of course they were, he was Bellamy. He was a bell and he was a bear. Who else would be the master of poets other than him? "I can rhyme at anytime," she repeated as her giggles started to settle down. That was so perfect. She paused suddenly, wanting to prove herself as a poet. She racked her brain to come up with something she could say and just found herself becoming disappointed when she couldn't. She frowned as she looked at Bellamy. This was horrible, it really was. "But I can't rhyme. I can't!" she told him, a slight tone of panic in her voice. She needed something to comfort her, that was what she needed.
"You can rhyme though," she told Bellamy, a frown still on her face. He was lucky, he was the master of poets. "Rhyme for me?" she asked, her eyes wandering. She looked around the room, half noticing the small amount of people who were still there. Some looked annoyed and some looked as sad as she suddenly felt. She decided that everyone else must have been having trouble rhyming too. They all needed Bellamy's help. Her eyes wandered back to Bellamy after a moment and she caught sight of his hair again. Yes! That was what she needed, she needed to touch his hair again. It was soft and it would be better than any rhyme. She didn't know why she had stopped touching it. Her hands quickly moved back up into his hair, a smile spreading back onto her face at the silky smooth feeling of it. "The bear has soft hair," she said, giggling as she realised she had managed to make a rhyme. |

Tag: @harpermcintyre whatever THE HELL WE WANT Her first poetic line caused him to laugh again. He wasn't sure he would ever be able to stop. But no sooner did the thought enter his mind, did he actually stop. Noticing the frown of Harper's face. Now that wasn't good! He wanted to see her smiling! But her reason for the expression was completely understandable. His hands moved to the corners of her lips, gently pulling them up in attempt to make her smile.
"Turn that frown upside down." Another rhyme! Something that made Bellamy's smile return. especially when she asked him to rhyme for her and he was able to do that. And even more so when he felt her hands in his hair. He closed his eyes, humming with contentment at the returned sensation. Her rhyme made him laugh as he opened his eyes to look at her, not even realizing that his hands were casually resting on her knees.
"You did it! Because you didn't quit. You made a rhyme, and it was sublime." He was on a roll with it, as he wanted to give in to her request. She wanted him to rhyme for her and that was what he was going to damn well do. "I like your smile . . . it's been a while." He didn't even realize that he was leaning even closer to her. Since they were somewhat on the topic of hair, he tilted his head so that his face was nestling against the side of her head, into her locks. "You smell so good, like I knew you would." The words followed by a deep breath, inhaling her intoxicating scent while his lips curved upward into a smile.
