my people MY RESPONSIBILITY Bellamy was preparing to turn and walk away . . . when Isaiah stopped him. The man rose to his feet, and placed a hand on his shoulder, inquiring as to an answer to his question. Why didn't he just leave. Something about Isaiah had made Bellamy want to stay and comfort the male. Calm him. He wasn't sure what it was, but it had been enough to make him sit down next to him. And even glad that Isaiah stopped him from leaving -- not entirely rejecting of his company. "It's not," he stated honestly, when Isaiah spoke of calming being down not part of his job.
"But it's less about being a guard, and more about being someone who didn't want to upset you." It was about being a person who did not wish to make another shed tears based on his questioning. Bellamy wondered what it would have been like had Cage questioned him. Dante's son tended to be a bit more . . . intense. And Bellamy couldn't help but be relieved that Isaiah was spared of that intensity. He offered a smile in return to Isaiah's. "I just wanted to make sure you were ok, that's no. No ulterior motives. Just, wanting to make sure I didn't traumatize you too badly." The words were a bit of a tease, playfully remarking on the situation with the hopes of continuing to ease his distressed state.

Finally he isn't wishing Bells away. Good Iah! It was a simple and obvious answer that Bellamy gave and probably the only answer that Isaiah really expected to hear but it was still good to hear. After the questioning and the way that Isaiah had freaked out, even if the idea of Bellamy staying had freaked him out in his state, it was definitely a good thing that he had done in staying. Isaiah admired that, if he were to be honest. The fact that Bellamy would go out of his way to step out of his job and be kind to someone who was in distress, While Isaiah did still feel embarrassed over crying and stressing, and while he still viewed his whole reaction as stupid, part of him wanted to go back on his thoughts about never talking to Bellamy again. At least he let himself think on the idea of getting to know the guard, if Bellamy would be interested. Which wouldn't be likely, really.
Well, if anything, he was definitely continuing to calm down now. If he was thinking like that, he was calming down for sure. His breathing was beginning to feel normal again and while he was still sniffling a bit and his eyes stung from the tears that he had shed, Isaiah couldn't see himself getting to a point of crying again now. That was really good. "Just a little traumatised," he said, managing a small laugh with the words that he really meant as a joke. He would be okay once he calmed down and he might even be able to continue being around Bellamy without feeling horrible. He hoped. His hand was still on Bellamy's shoulder and as he realised that, Isaiah dropped it back down to his side. "Um, thanks," he muttered as he slid his hands into the pockets of his jeans. |

my people MY RESPONSIBILITY Bellamy gave another smile when Isaiah admitted with a small chuckle that he was only a little traumatized. "Well that's still better than incredibly traumatized," Bellamy offered. Taking what he could from it. Bellamy had to admit, he missed the feeling of the male's hand on his shoulder, even if he was the one meant to be comforting him. "You're welcome," he told him with a bit of a nod when he thanked him. Bellamy knew he couldn't remain here for long, because he did have to keep going through his list of people to question.
"I do actually have to get back to work. And I'm sure you do too," he stated, knowing that he must be busy as well. Bellamy paused before leaving though. "They're having a sort of open mic night type of thing in the lounge today," he explained. Bellamy didn't often have time to attend these things, but he had made a promise to one of the performers. "I'm not performing or anything, but just going to watch. You should come. If you're free." Maybe there would be even more incentive in going if Isaiah was as well.

Godmodded Bellamy sitting. Hope that isn't a problem! XD Isaiah really shouldn't have been disappointed that Bellamy actually had to leave now, especially when he had been wishing for him to leave not to long ago but still, he was. Isaiah loved his work, it was his passion but part of him felt like he would skip it if it meant being able to spend more time with Bellamy. That was stupid. Yes, Bellamy was cute. Bellamy had also proven to be kind and caring. That definitely didn't mean that Isaiah should be going to extremes to see him. Especially after the situation in which he had met him. The fact that Bellamy had cared enough to put that extra effort into making sure he was okay just happened to have Isaiah feeling a little too positive towards him. Hopefully it would just fade as he continued his work for the day.
Instead of just walking away, Bellamy mentioned something that was happening at the lounge. Isaiah listened to him explain it, pointing out the fact that he wasn't performing at it - which had been Isaiah's first thought - before inviting Isaiah to go to it as well. Although not said, Isaiah wasn't an idiot and understood the fact that Bellamy was asking him to go with him. Isaiah racked his brain trying to think of some logical reason that Bellamy would be asking that, the want to spend more time together couldn't be mutual, not after the behavior that Bellamy had witnessed from Isaiah. So it definitely couldn't have been Bellamy asking Isaiah out, as much as a part of Isaiah sort of wished it could be. The same part paying attention to the fact that Bellamy was cute and kind and caring.
It was likely that Bellamy felt sorry for Isaiah and was asking him to come to the event because of that. Not that Isaiah particular cared about that. It was an excuse to see Bellamy again and maybe a chance to make a completely different impression to the one he had just made. Isaiah wasn't going to turn down such an opportunity. "Um, yeah, I'm free," Isaiah said, trying to focus on both smiling and not sniffling.. "I'll see you there." When Bellamy left, Isaiah took an old and worn handkerchief from his pocket and blew his nose. All he had to do was work, clean up and make sure he wore something nice. If he were to be completely honest with himself, he felt a little bit like a teenager in that moment.
When Isaiah finished work for the day he did exactly what he had planned. He showered and washed his face, removing any trace of his earlier stress and the day of work in agriculture. He dressed, finding what he thought to be the nicest shirt he currently owned - a dull blue coloured button-up - with tan pants and the pair of shoes he usually wore when he wasn't working. At the lounge, he scanned the room until he found Bellamy sitting and walked over to him. "Hey, this seat taken?" he asked, loosely gesturing to the seat next to where Bellamy was sitting. He didn't feel overly embarrassed to see the guard again and took that as a positive sign.

my people MY RESPONSIBILITY Bellamy smiled when Isaiah confirmed that he was free, seeming to agree to meet him there. With another nod, and a bye, Bellamy departed, realizing that he'd gone in to investigate, and came out with what could be interpreted as a date. But, he wasn't about to place much pressure on that. He would just find enjoyment in the fact that the man had agreed to come . . . and Bellamy found himself looking forward the event more than he was before. He finished his duties for the day and had just enough time to shower and get dressed into something apart from his guards uniform. He didn't exactly like to wear it when he was at social gatherings. Once he arrived, he looked around to make sure he didn't miss Isaiah, and when deciding that he hadn't come yet, found a seat with a few friends, as they started to watch the performances.
The man that he extended the invitation to was on his mind throughout though, so when he saw someone approach, and ask if the seat was taken, Bellamy smiled -- inwardly, feeling relieved and glad that Isaiah had indeed coming. Apparently, the impression Bellamy left wasn't as bad as he had worried it may be. "Not at all," he assured him, extending his hand so that he would have a seat. "Glad you made it," he told Isaiah, sincerity in his voice. "You want something to drink?" He asked, eyes still on the male, and a smile still on his lips. Hopefully, their interactions this time would not end in tears. Bellamy intended to make up for the last time he spoken to Isaiah and wanted to make him feel instantly comfortable. Besides, he was not here as a potential suspect . . . he was here as a friend or perhaps something more.

Isaiah smiled when Bellamy did. Seeing him smiling helped to calm the nerves that Isaiah had to admit he felt about this. While he didn't feel overly embarrassed, he was definitely having trouble getting the events from earlier that day out of his head. It was hard to forget the fact that he had broken down and cried in front of Bellamy earlier. The smile did a bit to help and Isaiah liked seeing it also because Bellamy definitely looked cuter smiling than he had when he had been serious and working earlier. Isaiah sat down on the seat when Bellamy confirmed it was free, making sure to sit so that he could clearly see Bellamy. "Glad I'm here," he said. He definitely felt like he was on a date, as much as he definitely wasn't. Still, he had nerves that he didn't need to have and wasn't paying attention to anything but the person he was with. That was something of a date. Truthfully, he hadn't payed any attention to whoever was even performing.
When Bellamy asked if Isaiah wanted a drink, he paused before answering. He did want a drink, if only to help calm his nerves about being there with Bellamy but he was also worried that it might calm his nerves too much, leaving him open to say or do something he might regret later on. Then he really would never want to see Bellamy ever again. It was difficult to go about avoiding someone in Mount Weather, it was a small place and he would be bound to come across him every now and again. Isaiah would rather be on good terms with Bellamy - more than good terms, really - than deal with the awkwardness that came with avoiding people. He had definitely tried it before and had found it extremely difficult. "No, I'm good," he said, still smiling. "You have a friend performing?" He wasn't paying attention to what the performance was but he might as well ask about it, find out why Bellamy was even here. |

my people MY RESPONSIBILITY Bellamy gave a small nod when Isaiah confirmed that he was alright. The male looked more relaxed than the last time he saw him, which was a good start. And Bellamy sure as hell wasn't going to do anything to change that. He wanted Isaiah to remain at ease, comfortable. The setting and dynamic right now was far away from any sort of professional reasons. "Yeah, they should be on soon," Bellamy confirmed, taking a small sip of his own drink. He wasn't one to drink much. His duties and responsibilities prevented him from being able to do so. If there was an emergency, he couldn't allow himself to be compromised.
"By the way, if you want to perform anything, they'll open the floor to the audience later," Bellamy said with a continued smile looking at Isaiah. But, there was of course an offer in his words. While the male struck Bellamy as a bit more shy . . . if there was something he enjoyed doing in the performing arts, this was a good place to showcase that. "Have you ever been to one of these before?" He further inquired, encouraging casual conversation, not wanting any silences to result in an awkward air between them.

Good, Iah's actually talking a bit more now. Isaiah nodded. Bellamy was there to watch a friend and that made sense. It still didn't make complete sense why he had then invited Isaiah but sitting there and seeing Bellamy smiling at him, Isaiah was definitely not complaining in any way. He listened as Bellamy spoke again, mentioning how they open the floor to anyone else to perform later on. Isaiah just laughed and shook his head, knowing full well that he was not going to be doing that. He didn't have a creative bone in his body and he would not be in his place on the stage. Sure, he could recite stories he had been told, fairy tales and other stories but to sing or dance or anything of that sort? Not at all. "I'm sure people will appreciate not hearing my shower singing," he told Bellamy when he stopped laughing.
Smiling at Bellamy, he wondered if he was going to go up and perform. He had said he wasn't when he had invited Isaiah but maybe he just hadn't wanted to mention it. "You gonna perform anything?" he asked, leaning slightly towards Bellamy and placing a hand on his arm. Isaiah would likely find the whole night a lot more entertaining if he did and it would be something new to learn about Bellamy. If it was a date or if it wasn't, Isaiah still wanted to learn more about Bellamy. More than him just being a guard with a kind heart. Hopefully he would get that chance. When Bellamy asked if he had been to one of these nights before, Isaiah dropped his hand from Bellamy's arm before answering. "I think I snuck into one when I was younger," he admitted, chuckling nervously. "A group of teenagers wanting alcohol, ya know?" |

my people MY RESPONSIBILITY Bellamy quite enjoyed Isaiah's laugh. The melodic joviality of it a wonderful and welcoming change from their previous interactions. It made Bellamy feel relieved, that could draw this kind of humor from Isaiah, rather than just emotional tears. It also made Bellamy smile in return, rather compelled to continue to make Isaiah feel that way. Happy. Lighthearted. Smiling. Amused. Why, Bellamy wasn't entirely sure. He just knew that he did. "You never know," Bellamy said with a continued smile on his lips.
"You could be a singer, just waiting to be discovered." He was of course teasing, though the words held a potential truth, as Bellamy had never heard Isaiah sing before. The mental image of him doing it in the shower . . . well, with that mental image, it wasn't exactly the singing part that Bellamy would be more focused on. The touch of his hand on his arm, the younger male leaning a little more toward him . . . there was something strangely comforting about it. Bellamy had to resist the urge to lean forward as well, knowing if he did so too much, it would result in closing the space and making contact.
"No," he answered simply, not even having realized himself, that his hand was now casually rested on Isaiah's knee when he had leaned forward. "Just here to watch for today." That line was better than any cheesy comment like I only give private shows or something telling of where this could potentially lead to. Bellamy wasn't exactly one to overly engage in such obvious flirtations. Not verbally anyway. When Isaiah's hand dropped from his arm, his hand moving from Isaiah's knees in the moments that followed. He felt the instant loss of contact, and had to shield any disappointment from crossing his features.
Fortunately, his story created a diversion where Bellamy didn't want to dwell in that lacking contact for too long. "Guess we all went through that phase," Bellamy said with a small chuckle. "Things seem more interesting when age or anything else restrict you from getting in." The thrill of the unknown, of the forbidden. "Least you got in," he said still smiling. "Don't tell anyone I said that," he added in jokingly, considering he was in the guard and wasn't exactly supposed to be condoning those who were underage to sneak into an environment they were not permitted to be in .

There was a pause from Isaiah when Bellamy said he could be a singer and he felt suddenly a bit shy. Not because there was any hope of him being a singer but because of the comment that sat on his tongue and the fact that he was tossing up between saying it or not. "Maybe you can tell me later on," he said after the pause, deciding it couldn't hurt to say, although his voice came out with less confidence than he intended. Isaiah noticed the hand on his knee. It was difficult not to notice it and he couldn't say it was a bad thing. Maybe a little distracting, he had to admit, but not bad. At Bellamy's response that he was only there to watch, Isaiah raised an eyebrow, picking up on the last part of the sentence and wondering if Bellamy did have some sort of talent that might permit him to normally perform at such a thing. If Bellamy could sing or anything like that, Isaiah would definitely be interested in that.
If Bellamy could even just juggle Isaiah was sure that he would still be interested in it. Why he had no idea but still. "For today?" he asked, still smiling. "Does Bellamy have a secret talent?" It was obvious that Bellamy moved his hand from Isaiah's knee in reaction to Isaiah dropping his own hand and for a moment, Isaiah wished he hadn't dropped his hand. Just a quick thought that went through his mind and one he didn't dwell on. Instead, he laughed, particularly at Bellamy seeming happy that he managed to sneak into one of the open mic nights as a teenager. That wasn't something he expected from a guard, especially the famous Bellamy Blake. "My lips are sealed," Isaiah told him, making a gesture like he was zipping up his lips. Then he leaned forward again with a bit of a smirk on his lips, Bellamy's comments suddenly bringing a question to mind. "Did you sneak into places you weren't supposed to?"

my people MY RESPONSIBILITY Bellamy slightly raised an eyebrow with intrigue when Isaiah suggested that he could tell him later all. Bellamy wondered if he meant it the way he was taking it. Either way, he decided to tease the comment with his playful response. "You inviting me to listen ot you sing in the shower?" He asked, a clear underlying tone of suggestiveness and what that could mean. While the younger male's words were not overly confident, Bellamy had to appreciate the fact that he had said them; the offer.
Whether they were meant as Bellamy playfully responded to or not. The guardsman then chuckled a little when Isaiah questioned if he had a secret talent. "Maybe I do," he teased. The only thing he could think of was his interest in playing piano at a young age. Dante had helped him with that. "But you'll only know for sure after I hear you sing," he added on i the same playful tone of voice. The ease in which this conversation was carrying on was rather refreshing. Allowing Bellamy to thoroughly and genuinely enjoy it. His next question brought up one very specific answer.
Bellamy had snuck into the pod when his father had come down to Earth. He wasn't supposed to be in there, but he had been. To protect his mother and sister. But, he doubted getting into that story was a good idea right now. Wasn't exactly first date material . . . if this was in fact a first date. "Plenty of times," Bellamy finally answered, refusing to let the smile on his lips waver, taking another sip of his drink to distract his thoughts of what brought him to Earth. The inevitably missing of his family and wondering if they were alright.
"Mostly when I was a kid. I tended to sneak into different restricted areas. This place was so damn huge to me." He'd been six and having come from the Ark -- the less privileged side of it -- well, Mount Weather was a whole new world. "So what do you like to do when you're not working?" Bellamy asked, curious to find out more about this man . . . wanting to get to know his likes, dislikes, interests, etc . . . and who knows, maybe it would come in handy in the future.

Well, this is a long post! When Isaiah had made his comment, he hadn't exactly been referring to the shower part of it. Just the fact of Bellamy and him having that later on, whatever that could be...so Bellamy's response surprised Isaiah and left him blushing. Now it was going to be impossible to keep the image of Bellamy in the shower with him out of his mind, not that it was a particularly bad image, it just definitely shouldn't have been in his mind. Bellamy's comment gave Isaiah a better idea of how the other guy saw the night and clued him into the fact that it may possibly be a date. It was hard to not think of it like that now. Isaiah liked that idea, to be on a date with someone as cute as Bellamy. He really wouldn't have imagined being that lucky. "Maybe I am," Isaiah said, still not able to put confidence into his voice.
Then Bellamy responded with the same playfulness to Isaiah's question and the colour on Isaiah's cheeks stayed strong. Isaiah really couldn't sing but to find out what Bellamy's secret talent was, he might have been happy to sing for Bellamy. Just maybe. The playfulness of Bellamy's tone had Isaiah wondering what the secret talent could be, which was not helping him in keeping the shower scene out of his mind. He took a deep breath, the words playing on his tongue. He was never one with confidence when it came to flirting and Isaiah didn't think he could actually respond how he wanted to. He just managed to nod his head and let the conversation move on.
There was an obvious pause with Isaiah's question and he wondered if it was the wrong thing to ask. The smile hadn't moved from Bellamy's lips however and eventually he gave an answer. It was the sort of answer that Isaiah expected and he decided to let his worries about the pause fade, not wanting to let himself get stressed. Not now when he was actually enjoying the night so much. Bellamy was great company and Isaiah didn't want anything to get in the way of that. He knew that he tended to worry too much sometimes and he had been trying to cut back on that. This would be a perfect opportunity to do that. "I'm surprised we never ran into each other sneaking around," Isaiah said with a grin. Bellamy hadn't been the only one intrigued by the size of Mount Weather.
Bellamy's next question definitely sounded like a date question, Isaiah couldn't help that thought running through his mind. He also couldn't help the next thought that this question would give away just how boring Isaiah was. His first priority was always his job. He loved it and was passionate about it. That didn't mean he didn't do other things, he just didn't ever think of them to be interesting, not when being asked the question by someone like Bellamy. "I like to read a lot," he said, shrugging lightly. "Parents liked telling stories so I'm always trying to find more books." He paused for a moment, just smiling at Bellamy, before speaking again. "Listening to music is great, although I don't have a musical bone in my body," he admitted, bringing it back to their earlier topic of conversation. "What about you?" |

my people MY RESPONSIBILITY Bellamy smiled at his repsonse, more so in seeing the colored that touched his cheeks at the . . . well, flirtatious remark. Hell, Bellamy ahd been the one to start that, and he found it rather endearing of Isaiah to shyly continue it, with a blush on his features. "Well, maybe I'll take you up on that offer sometime," Bellamy further teased, with a playful smile dancing on his lips. It was all in good fun of course. Wasn't as if he was going to pounce on Isaiah right here and now. But he had to admit, he was finding the man more and more attractive with each passing moments of their conversation, and noticing the small details in his features and demanour.
"Maybe we're just that good at being sneaky," he suggested when Isaiah expressed his surprise that they hadn't run into each other. Maybe they had managed to be elusive enough to avoid each other. But the thought of them potentially being in the same restricted area was an amusing one. When Isaiah admitted to liking to read, Bellamy's smile widened. Something that they had in common. He listened to Isaiah further explain it, saying that he was always trying to find more books. It had been one of the things that Bellamy had initially loved about this place: the book selection. Even as a young boy, he enjoyed reading.
It was nice to know that he and Isaiah had that common interest. "Well, that has yet to be determined," he teasd when suggested that he doesn't have a musical bone in his body, reminding him of the singing offer. "I like to read too," he admitted. "Especially history and mythology, mainly Roman." His mother had allowed him to choose the name of the unborn baby. Octavia if it was a girl. Augustus if it was a boy. "What kinds of books do you like to read?" He inquired curiously, finding it so easy to give the man his full and undivided attention.

Isaiah just continued to blush and smile at Bellamy. It was actually quite attractive to Isaiah just how confident Bellamy was, how easily he seemed to flirt like that. That was another good quality of Bellamy's that Isaiah now knew of. Even if that particular one made him feel shy, Isaiah enjoyed it. It was fun and even if it didn't lead to anything, it was still that. Although Isaiah definitely was building up a hope that this night might lead to something more. There was no doubt in his mind that it had become a date and he hoped that meant that Bellamy liked him in some way. It would be a amazing thing, really, after what Bellamy had seen of Isaiah earlier in the day.
Thinking back to his time as a child sneaking around Mount Weather, Isaiah didn't know if he was really that good at it but Bellamy's comment still made him laugh. It was a fun thought at least to think that they both liked sneaking around as kids and that they both could have been sneaking around the same places, even if it were likely at different times. It was something in common, even if it wasn't something they did now. Isaiah was definitely happy to find that there was something in common between them. A farmer and a guard would generally seem like something different people and at least in their jobs they were. That had been in clear view earlier that day. Outside of their jobs, though, Isaiah hoped they would have more in common than expected.
Bellamy's admittance that he liked to read too had Isaiah beaming. Now that was something great to have in common. Books were practically endless and Isaiah could probably spend years talking about the ones he had read without any reason to stop. It had been so easy for him to get his hands on books as a kid and then as he grew older. The book collected held in Mount Weather was just as impressive as the amount of paintings that hung on all the walls. "I like mythology as well," Isaiah said, obvious excitement in his voice. "Not overly familiar with Roman, though. I read a lot of fairy tales, the old ones." Isaiah leaned towards Bellamy a bit, not even really noticing as his hand went to rest on his knee. Isaiah tended to be a touchy person, which differed from his inability to often do things like flirt with words. "I'll read pretty much anything though, I read a book on farming when I was a kid and that's how I got into it. Why do you like Roman mythology?" |

my people MY RESPONSIBILITY Somehow, Bellamy's smile widened even more at Isaiah's mention of liking mythology, though his interest was more in fairy tales rather than Roman. "I haven't read too many fairy tales. Just a few." And he could understand the intrigue. The fantasy of them. "What's your favorite one?" He asked, finding it so easy to be genuinely curious about him when they suddenly had this wonderful hobby in common. Not that Bellamy's interest in Isaiah had been non existent prior to this moment. If he didn't have any interest in the male, he wouldn't have invited him tonight. "Sounds like a good way to get into your profession. Is it what your parents do, or did?" Present or past, Bellamy wasn't quite sure. He hoped if it was the latter, then Bellamy hadn't just dampened the mood with any reminder of loves lost.
The hand on his knee was comforting, and Bellamy found himself craving more contact with him. Not wanting to discourage him from it, he kept his gaze focused on Isaiah, also leaning in a bit more to showcase his interest and enjoyment of being near him. "I guess I just like the different origins of each figure in Mythology. What they represent, and how they all tie together." He wasn't sure if that made sense, or if he wasn't doing a well enough job explaining it. "The chaos of it all," he said almost jokingly, but his words held truth as he smirked a little. There was just something appealing about the dysfunction. "I'll have to read more fairy tales. My knowledge of them are pretty minimal." And he felt more inclined to read them as they were Isaiah's preference.
