W A R R I O R ; H E A L E R Nyko was a healer; a man dedicated to save lives. Yet, he could not even save the people he loved most. The world was a colder place without his son and brother. But it was about to get a whole lot darker with the latest threat. Which was why Nyko wished to volunteer. It wasn't an order from anyone, but a decision that he made of his own volition. They saved who they could . . . and right now, everyone was at stake. No longer did their clans and groups divide them. Uniting would be their greatest strength. It was what Lincoln had always believed in, and Nyko did this, to honor his brother. Little did he know what the journey entailed. Apparently, a young Skaikru seated on a shared horse, gripping from behind. Skaikru were clearly not accustomed to horses. Except for maybe Octavia from what Nyko saw and understood. When their leader decided to take rest, and allow their horses to rest too, Nyko pulled on the reigns to bring the animal to a halt. He was the first to dismount, before looking at the young boy who was seated behind him. He looked at him for a moment, his eye glancing down to his leg. He knew without being told that the boy had suffered a wound of some sort. With the way he placed more pressure on one side, clearly favoring it. "Can you dismount?" He asked calmly, his words not meant to sound condescneding but as a healer, he wanted to help if the boy needed it. Tag;; @jasper420

This was... the last thing Jasper would have imagined before they started their mission. He'd been riding the back of a horse with his arms wrapped around a grounder he only barely knew. He'd ridden like this before, but with Octavia. This was definitely vastly different. Jasper would guess they were around the same height, but Nyko was much bigger than him. And until Jasper figured out how to turn his head the right way, there was soooo much hair in his face that was so far from Octavia's smooth locks.
It was weird, but not uncomfortable, necessarily. Jasper knew Nyko was a healer. He'd been Lincoln's friend. Jasper had gone to the mountain for the first time since's Maya's death because Lincoln had insisted that they save Nyko's life before. He didn't have any reason to mistrust him, or fear him at all.
He was grateful to stop, though, get some breathing space. Nyko slid off first, then asked if he could get down. "I've done this in worse shape," Jasper admitted, his voice flat. He'd done it drunk and bleeding from the neck. It was a wonder he hadn't fallen off the horse that day. Not that he would have cared. He slid his good leg over the horse's back and dropped down to his feet, trying to favor the good leg when he landed. He still winced a little as his bad leg twinged at the jolt. "I'm okay," he said. The physical pain was tolerable. Jasper was pretty sure he could power through the pain and run if he needed to. It was his brain that was the problem. "Thanks for the ride."

W A R R I O R ; H E A L E R Nyko watched as the boy insisted he was ok, and moved off the horse. He seemed alright, but Nyko as a healer, knew it was his obligation to ensure that everyone on their team was healthy and well. What he could offer to relieve any pain, he would. At least physical. There was no pain for a wounded heart. As the older male knew significantly well. "Thank our friend here who brought us," Nyko said, stroking the neck of the horse. His horse. One that he had brought with him and continued to be a loyal friend. "
Mochof Raham," he spoke in his language, thanking the horse, pulling an apple from his pack and holding it out as Raham ate it eagerly. Nyko then turned his attentions back to Jasper. "If it gets too bad, I will give you something," he offered. He brought certain medicines with him; one that would alleviate pain wouldn't be too difficult to create along the way should they run out. But he also did not want to unnecessarily give it. "What happened to it?" He inquired, not having had time to ask before hand. But now that they were alone, he felt compelled to gain a better understanding of the boy's injury. Tag;; @jasper420

Jasper reached up to pat the horse a couple times when Nyko said it should be thanked, then watched as Nyko fed it, saying something to it that Jasper didn't understand. Then he mentioned giving Jasper something for pain, and Jasper's lips twisted as he shook his head. "I've been medicated too much lately. Probably better for all of us if I'm clear headed," he said. Of course, his 'medicine' had been booze (and later, the City of Light), but Nyko didn't need to know that. Nyko might put the pieces together, however, based of what Jasper had said, that Jasper had issues with drugs. Jasper didn't really care if he did. Maybe the person in their group with the drugs should know that. But for the first time in his life, Jasper wasn't inclined to use drugs, unless he was in unbearable pain. Maybe that would change over time, but he didn't know.
Nyko asked what happened to his leg, and Jasper huffed an unhappy laugh. "Do you want the long or short version?" he said. "Short version is my best friend shot me after I stabbed him and slammed his girlfriend into a wall before dragging her around by her hair." He glanced over in the direction he thought Harper might be, then looked back at Nyko and shrugged. "I was chipped. I would never, otherwise..." he explained.
