Callie felt devastated for her best friend. Jake had been floated, and Clarke had been arrested and Abby . . . was left to deal with this emotional aftermath of everything. Callie had never been married so did not know what it was to lose a husband. But she did have a daughter, and so couldn't imagine what it was like to have to deal with her arrest. It broke Callie's heart, that Abby had lost so much, so fast. And while she knew nothing she could say could console her, she still wanted to be there for her as much as she could. Callie had tried to appeal to Marcus, knowing it wasn't fair to ask for personal favors because of their relationship . . . but it was out of Marcus' hands. The Chancellor seemed set on this, and thus, Jake was floated. Callie had not bee n present at the execution, but she decided to see Abby shortly after it was over. Taking a deep breath, she knocked on the door of her apartment, already feeling the sting of tears in her eyes though kept them back for now.
