.:Personality:. Abby is not afraid to stand up for what she believes in and do what she believes is right, even if it means breaking the law. As demonstrated on the Ark, she went to extreme measures in order to save Chancellor Jaha's life. Going so far as to exceed the proper medical procedures and dosages by using extra anesthesia and medical supplies in order to save his life, thus breaking the law. She is very opinionated and isn't afraid to speak up if she disagrees with someone. For example, she has stood up to both Thelonious Jaha and Marcus Kane, particularly Kane on several occasions. Both Abby and Kane have quarreled on several occasions regarding disagreements on opinions. Also, she isn't afraid to face the consequences of her actions. After breaking the law in order to save Jaha's life, she prepares to be floated for her crime, having accepted her fate and facing it bravely. On the ground, she is shock lashed ten times in front of everyone for breaking the law once more by giving some of the delinquents gun and sending them out to search for the other survivors. She takes her beating bravely. This demonstrates just how strong willed she is. Abby is also very protective of those she loves and cares about, particularly her daughter Clarke. She also shows her protective nature with Raven as well, ultimately taking ALIE's chip in order to save the young mechanic's life. She is kind and caring and tries to do what's best for her people. Although she isn't much of a physical fighter, she will fight if she has to in order to protect her people and those she holds dear.
.:Special Skills:. Medicine. All things medical, Abby knows all about it. As the Chief Medical Officer, she is the go to person when people are injured, sick, or dying. She knows all the basic medical procedures as well as advanced procedures, operations, and surgeries. When the 100 delinquents are sent down to the ground, they are all each equipped with a wristband that allows her to see each of their particular and basic vitals. She knows the basics from cleaning and bandaging wounds to advanced operations and surgeries. For example, Abby was able to guide Clarke through a risky procedure when Finn is fatally stabbed by the grounder Lincoln and was able to determine that he had been poisoned. Also, she performed an even riskier surgery when Raven is shot by Murphy and the bullet becomes imbedded in her spinal cord. She was able to successfully remove the bullet without causing any further damage or injury. Of course, even her medical expertise has limits. There is only so much she can do. She is not able to save everyone. Another skill she has is an ability to fire a gun but shooting and fighting is not her strong suit, but she will fight if she has to keep her people safe. She is a good leader, but she is unable to control the actions of her daughter and some of the other delinquents.

.:Birthplace:. The Ark
.:Family:. Clarke Griffin (daughter) Jake Griffin (husband, formerly)
.:Occupation:. Ex Council Member, Chief Medical Officer, Doctor, Former Chancellor
.:History:. Abigail Griffin was born on the Ark where she eventually met and married Jake Griffin and had a daughter named Clarke Griffin. She soon became a member of the Council and The Chief Medical Officer on the Ark. She took Clarke under her wing and taught her some basic medical procedures. Her husband quickly discovered an error regarding the oxygen levels on the Ark. Unable to fix the problem, he determined that the Ark was dying and that everyone on the Ark would die in less than six months. He believed that everyone had a right to know, but Abby and the rest of the council disagreed. When Jake informed her of this dire problem, they ended up getting in an argument when he threatened to go public with the news. Unbeknownst to the both of them, their daughter Clarke overheard their conversation. Abby went to Chancellor Jaha and told him about the crisis and Jake planning to go public with it, hoping that he would convince her husband to not go through with it. Instead, Jake was arrested and floated. As a result, Abby had accidently and indirectly condemned her husband to death. Instead of admitting what she had done, she let Wells Jaha take the blame for Clarke's father getting floated. Afterwards, her daughter was locked up in the Skybox due to her knowledge of the oxygen error. The Council soon came to the decision to send all one hundred delinquents down to the ground in order to determine whether or not earth is once again inhabitable, as well as supply the Ark with more oxygen and more time to fix the error. Abby was reluctant towards the idea of sending them all down to die, particularly Clarke. Ultimately, it wasn't her decision to make. Although, she has all of them wear wristbands in order to keep track of what's going on down on earth, as well as to record their vitals.
While on the Ark, she kept track of the delinquents while they were on earth. Also, she saved Jaha's life after he was shot, going so far as to break the law in order to do so which results in her almost getting floated. She also broke the law by enlisting Raven's help to fix an old dropship in order to go down to the ground and prove that the kids were alive. This gets her kicked off the council. Her and Kane argue on several occasions due to differences in opinion. On the ground she also broke the law by arming several delinquents and sending them off to search for the rest of the survivors. This resulted in her getting electrically lashed ten times. She briefly became Chancellor but ended up resigning the job because she believed Kane was better equipped for the job. They slowly develop a mutual respect for each other and she grew to deeply care about him. When Pike became Chancellor, Abby and Kane shared a kiss just before he was preparing to be condemned to death. In order to save Raven's life, she took the chip and did unspeakable things. Once unchipped, she was extremely broken up about it, but that didn't stop her from helping Clarke to stop ALIE. With ALIE defeated, she must push away her guilt in order to figure out a way to prevent the end of the world once more.
