.:Name:. Catelyn Summer Stiles .:Nick Name:. Cat .:Affiliation:. Arkadia .:Age:. 27

.:Physical Appearance:. Cat traces her heritage back to primarily Bulgarian descent, though one cannot be sure. The Ark was a melting pot of cultures and she was born as the second generation. Her olive toned skin and deep dark locks are a nod to her fathers line of genetics, and her round brown eyes are a trait shared by both her mother and father. When it comes to her personal style, it can be described as practical. On The Ark, she frequently sported a lab coat and a high ponytail to keep her hair out of her face. On the ground, she wears whatever she can get. She does miss the cleanliness of The Ark and tries to keep herself put together, but on the ground things are different. .:Height:. 5'10 .:Portrayed by:. Phoebe Tonkin

.:Personality:. All her life Cat has been interested in one thing, and one thing only: the pursuit of knowledge. She specializes in psychology and the study of radiation related effects on the human body, as well as preventative measures. Her obsession with science and learning has knocked her a wee bit off her rocker and made her an odd person to have along for the ride. Though she is loving and has a heart of gold, sometimes her hunger for learning can eclipse that entirely and make her seem like a rabid dog with a bone. She is smart; but absolutely mad. Social cues and niceties are lost on her, especially if she's preoccupied with her work. It's a wonder she ever found a husband, but she did. Everybody needs love in their lives, but she also understands the principle of the greater good. The benefit of others comes before the benefit of the one. She is empathetic, but has the ability to turn a blind eye to her feelings should they get in the way of her work.
.:Special Skills:. Analytical; though far from a warrior, Catelyn was a scientist on The Ark, studying samples of radioactive earth and working on anything that could help counter it without knowing that their proximity to the sun already gave them immunity. Now, she studies the differences between those who were born on The Ark and those who were born on earth with a number of tests on willing subjects. Her passion for science is almost obnoxious while her hunger for knowledge is never fully sated.

.:Birthplace:. The Ark .:Family:. Though both of Cat's parents have since passed away, they were both factory workers and not much like their daughter. They died of natural causes, if a lack of oxygen and a poor diet could be called such a thing. On the ark, it was. She's had plenty of time to mourn the loss of her parents. Her husband was a volunteer during the culling-- which was a calculated decision made in hopes of affecting their future child positively. They didn't know that the earth was inhabitable at that time. .:Occupation:. Agricultural Researcher .:History:. Catelyn was born on the ark to loving parents with supervisory positions in various segments of factory station. She was raised as a middle class girl with a love for schooling. Though she often went hungry, her parents taught her from a young age how her sacrifices would affect the ark as a whole. Conservation of resources would allow for more in the future. Most children wouldn't understand that to the extent that she did, but she made it the centerpiece to her life. As she grew, the future of the ark became her priority-- and her career in theoretical science began. Instead of following old rules she would look further and try to find answers for the issues that had not yet arose. She worked alongside other scientists in monitoring radiation levels and even played a small part in the hundred being sent to earth... Though she didn't truly make any changes.
Before all this, she fell in love with a boy named James who worked on the agricultural station. He was a genius, but followed his family instead of his passions. They were married when Cat turned twenty and stayed together for seven years. During this time, Cat and James applied numerous times, hoping to be able to have a child together. It took so long, and once she was given permission to remove the contraceptive device it still took ages to conceive. They tried for years until soon, shortly before the hundred was sent to the ground they discovered that they had succeeded. The timing was wrong, there was a good chance of them having to get rid of the child but before they even had a chance to really report it the culling occurred. James, with Catelyn's same sense of greater good sacrificed himself in hopes that it would save their child from its fate when the pregnancy was discovered... but nothing went according to plan.
Instead, Cat was sent hurtling to earth during her first trimester, with no other choice but to abandon the dying ark. Everybody was wrong. She was wrong. The earth was inhabitable, even though all the readings and all the studies screamed the opposite. She never took into account the radiation they were already exposed to in the ark. It was a silly thing to overlook; something she should have realized... It didn't matter. When they hit the ground, everything changed. The impact, the stress of war, the mass hysteria... it was too much and as predicted while alpha station fell she eventually lost their baby. One thing that Cat could never accept was loss without reason. James' sacrifice was loss without reason... So, now instead of focussing on what she has lost she focuses instead on aiding where she can. Currently agricultural studies that James would teach her help greatly while she tries to aid Arkadia in finding farmable land. On the side, she also works on her own experimental, theoretical work with willing assistants.

.:Name or Online Alias:. Amber .:How Did You Find Us:. Euphoria lets off a very high pitched call to wayward roleplayers and it draws them to the roleplay. It also causes the need for more characters.
