.:Personality: Jackson is incredibly kind, compassionate and sensitive, all of which lent to his exceptional "bedside manner" as a doctor. In spite of generally being a softie, though, he has learned over time to speak up when he feels it's necessary, even when it's people he loves that he has to question. He would 100% defend Abby and Clarke Griffin with his life, though he also acknowledges they are both very capable women who don't necessarily need a man's help, and he will unflinchingly stand behind rather than in front of them, if that's where they need or want him.
.:Special Skills: He is a medical doctor, and holds the position of Medical Officer. He has gotten accustomed to working long hours with little fuel or sleep, can do a little sleight of hand magic and enjoys playing cards (games that don't require a 'poker face', as he doesn't have one of those) on the rare occasion he has free time, and used to pick up the occasional basketball game with some of the guard cadets on the Ark. He's a better baller than he'd admit to.

.:History: Jackson was raised by a single mother on Farm Station where she grew soy. Mary had wanted to be a teacher, but at the time of her job training assignments, there were no teaching positions open. Mary and Jackson had a very close relationship, and as a natural teacher, she encouraged his studies, in particular, his interest in science. When she passed away from illness when he was 13, Jackson decided he would pursue a job in medicine to try to help save other people from her fate.

Between the ages of 13-18, Jackson was a ward of the Ark, having no family and not being "desirable" as an adoptee due to his age. He buried himself in studying as much as he could about medicine to stave of his grief, loneliness, and depression, and was accepted into the medical program, where he started apprenticing with Abby. Although he poured himself into his training and was very serious in his studies, Abby was something of a maternal figure to him in his early days in medical. Now that he is older, and a great doctor on his own, their relationship has balanced into mutual respect, admiration and friendship, though Jackson has never completely let go of feeling like Abby and Clarke are his family.
