Jasper was born on the Ark and eventually became a part of the 100 who was sent to the ground. He did fancy Octavia before he was captured by the Mountain Men. There, he met Maya who he fell in love with. However, Clarke and the others, to kill most of the Mountain Men, released outside oxygen to let radiation in, which would kill the mountain men. Unfortunately, this killed Maya and he's never been the same. Later, due to Jasper's depression, he wanted to go to the city of light to forget about his problems.
