She knew she had been losing blood for a while. Anya had not checked on her wounds, nor cared if she survived long. It was determination that drove her to go on and on. But as soon as the bullet hit Anya, as soon as someone tried to knock her out, Clarke felt how weak she was. Her arm. She barely saw it. But at the same time she didn't need to, the red was angry even in the darkness. It stood out, because she had spilled blood and now hers was joining Anyas on the ground. She saw her mother. Felt her hands on her cheek, but couldn't pay attention to her as they dragged her away.
She found herself on something impossible soft. In the mountain again? She couldn't tell. She couldn't tell until the restless, weak young woman turned her head. Then she knew she was not hallucinating, at least not all of this. Because why would she hallucinate him? Marcus Kane was close. He mom, she could see herself hallucinating her mom, or her dad, but not Kane. Last time she saw him, he was not exactly her favorite person. "Kane?" She all but whispered, just as the last of her energy left her. Clarkes eyes closed, her weakened body slowly shutting down as she had lost too much blood for her body to be able to replace alone.

Marcus was told that Clarke had been found out side the gates and he ran toward them. He knew that Abby was worried about her daughter. As soon as he got their he found out that Clarke had been taken to the medical bay. He had men look in the woods for others--just in case--before going briskly to the medical room to check on her. She needed blood, and when the Ark came down they had lost their supplies. He could tell the doctors where worried about her chances without out, so when her blood type turned out to be his, he volunteered without question. For Abby, and for the girl.
Marcus had not known Clarke well, but he did know that he was apart of the reason she was locked up by herself for a year. While he had not been the one to arrest and float her father, he had followed the chancellor's order and told his men to do it. His didn't go himself, because he had been trying to make Jaha see sense--if Griffin had found the fault in the system, then should he not be the best one to fix it? They could too put him on lock down.
But it would not come to pass.
A few hours later, Marcus came back to check on Clarke, finding her mother not in the room. Perhaps Abby was either getting some food or checking on someone else. Marcus looked down at Clarke, whom was sleeping. She looked like her mother. With a twitch of his lips at that thought, he reached for her chart, wanting to see how she was doing.

A few shaky breaths. Gentle movements were the first things that gave any indication to Clarke Griffin waking up again from the sleep she was in. As she opened her eyes, she felt weak, shaky, but she guessed that was what happened after an eventful - how long has it even been? It must have been ages. To her surprise she wasn't alone. When she looked around she found Kane close to her. Why was Kane here? It wasn't that she minded so much, but usually, she found him to have a reason to be somewhere.
"Kane?" Clarke whispered almost softly. She sat up. It was good he was here. She had to tell him of the mountain. He had to get the others out. He had the authority for it, surely. And he couldn't afford to keep them there, right? They needed everyone here. If they really were down here with survivors, they needed everyone. Because they needed numbers with the grounders. "How ma..." She stopped herself. He was looking at her file, she guessed. "Is it bad?"

Marcus had not looked down at the chart for more then a few seconds, before he heard Clarke speak. Looking up at her face he noticed that he had caused her some concern by being here. Kane and Clarke had met before, but he couldn't ever recall having a conversation with just her before. She must think that there was something very wrong for him to be here. So to help calm her, Marcus tried to give her a reassured look, before speaking. "I was just checking on you. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong."
He knew that she would know where the others were but he needed to make sure she was alright first. Soon enough he could start questioning her on how to get to the others. "Do you feel well enough to talk?" He asked, knowing there was a lot to say. He looked back down at her chart once more, and spoke while skimming it. "Your chart tells quite a story. We found some antibiotics in your system, but we didn't send you down with them." Which meant she got them from somewhere else.
He got to her blood type, and paused to think it a good thing that he was near by. Since Jake would have been the only other known type. There might have been another, but more the files were lost right now, and finding another would have taken some time. He glanced at her history, expecting to see Jake's and his blood type to match . . . but it didn't. it left Marcus staring down at the chart, feeling confused for a moment.

Clarke nodded. She wasn't strong in the slightest, but she knew this was not a choice for her. Her friends were in the mountain and she was convinced it was dangerous. They drained the Grounders. They killed them. And then the reapers underneath. With the Arkers being able to metabolize radiation, she knew they would become equally interesting than the Grounders. Or she guessed they would. Maybe in another way. But they were already lying to them. She was right all along. It would only get worse. But they lied. That meant those she cared about aren't necessarily dead. They might be alive out there. It hurt in a way she loved. It hurt, because she didn't have to mourn, it hurt in a strangely good way.
"Yeah." She agreed. They didn't have any meds or something of the likes, sadly. They had to make or gather them. There was only one way how antibiotics got into her, of course. That was nice detective work from them already, but Clarke never meant to withhold that information from them. And she wouldn't. "We... we were taken to the mountain. Mount Weather. There are people in there. They have everything. I got.. my arm got injured and I cut it open to get into medical. They gave me antibiotics. I managed to flee in an unsupervised moment. The others... are still there. You look troubled..."

Marcus knew she was talking but he couldn't hear her right now. His thoughts where too loud in his own head to hear anything over his thoughts. Her voice was a muted mumbling in the background while he tried to understand what he was reading. Looking up from the list he blinked a few times, while noticing that she was looking at him. Right, he had not been paying attention to her. That was bad because they needed to know where the antibodies had gotten into her system, and he needed to ask her that first-- "Your blood type and your father's blood type aren't the same." Maybe not first.
Marcus wasn't trained in medical things, but he did have a rare type so he knew why he had to give more often. "Nor your mother's." She didn't match her parents. He must know what that meant in the back of his mind but the words wouldn't come forward. Why didn't she match them? They had to match right? That was how it worked. He got his blood type from his father, and they were both rare. "Do you know who's blood type you have?" How did she get it?

Blood. Where did that come from? Why was that an issue now? For a moment Clarke was just frozen. How was that possible? Clarke knew she had a bloodtype that was next to impossible to inherit, if not at least one parent had the exact same, since it consisted of recessive markers. If both her mom and her dad didn't have hers. Clarkes hand reached out. She needed to see that file. Then again, she knew her mothers blood type. It wasn't the same, it was dominant an recessive. So her father would have to had two recessives, but... if he didn't have the same as her, that made it impossible, didn't it? That meant her father wasn't her father... because her mom was her mom, she knew that.
"C... can I see?" It was another piece of bad news on top of everything. How could all of this happen in such a short time? first the ground, then mount weather and then her entire childhood was questioned now? She didn't like it one bit. "If... it's not my fathers and not my mothers... if... it doesn't match at all, then... my father can't be my father." Her eyes stung again, but with shaking breath she tried to hold back the tears. She didn't know many peoples blood types, but she didn't know anyone with the same as hers, as hers was so rare. "I don't know anyone with the same bloodtype as me. I thought Dad had it."

She spoke about how it was her father's blood, or was supposed to be. How it didn't make any sense because of everything she had been told. Marcus was thinking back tot he time he and Abby had . . . it had been one night. One night where two adults who had bickered too much had spilled over and they had embraced what it really was. Passion. Marcus had slept with her mother, and knowing it was wrong had never approached the subject again. Now he was wishing he had. Clarke even looked like Jake--he had never had a reason to doubt.
Marcus tried to do the math. Clarke's age plus the months of caring a baby in her belly. How old was Clarke for sure?! Marcus tried to do the math, but there was a lot of things that could effect the time frame. "How--how old are you? Exactly." He asked slowly, knowing what his was thinking, but unable to just spill it out to the frighten girl int he bed. She had no idea that her world was crashing around her. That his one night of passion with her mother would ruin her memories of her father. Marcus felt guilty and . . . and angry. Why had he not been told? Why would Abby not give him a chance to know his daughter? Maybe he knew why---but he still wanted to hear it from her.

How old? A question that immediately launched her head into thinking along what happened in the past weeks on the ground. She had been 17, one month shy of turning 18, which had caused her panic when they came to get her before going to the ground. And it caused her to think back of the day when she last figured out the actual date: In Mount Weather. That hurt, because she now remembered her birthday. She remembered that it was probably never going to be like it was before, never again in all her years. Clarkes fists tightened into the sheets on which she lay.
"I'm eighteen." She replied. "I've just turned eighteen." But she couldn't say when. She couldn't tell him that her birthday was this close, because hell, it hurt knowing that her friends were in this weird place and she had to fight for her life. And then another thought struck her: What did it matter to him how old she was? Why did it matter? He had been around her mom, did he have an idea why she had this... different blood type? She knew, not even a year ago, Clarke would have hoped. Now she was bracing for the worst, because luck wasn't in her cards anymore.

Eighteen. Marcus felt himself unsteady but he tried to dot he math. He knew she was under that when she was sent to the ground and the kids weren't on the ground long so it was with in that time frame. He tried to do the math but he still wasn't sure. Yet her blood told him the truth. They were a match. Her mother and . . . father were not. Because Jake Griffin was not her biological father, even if he had been her father by right. A right that Marcus had apparently not been given.
He shut her file and tossed the tablet aside. Looking at her Marcus tried to see Jake in her, and the sad part was--he did. Though Abby also looked like Jake, with light hair and features. Marcus was darker in hair and eyes. Where did that go? He had to be mistaken. "Maybe the blood is wrong. Maybe it works different, we should talk . . . we should talk to your mother." And demand answers. They needed to know the truth, before they said and did things that were not able to be taken back.

"Blood can't be wrong." Clarke pointed out. It was just not how it worked. It was just not how blood worked with everything. It was the one thing, that couldn't be faked. It was the one thing that would always tell it's own story. "Bloodtypes can only be passed on by parents. One half of the blood type comes from the mother, the other from the father. If I was AB, my parents could be A, AB or B but never 0. With 0 it's impossible for a parent of mine to be AB as both would have to carry an 0 marker. That happens with A and B and 0." Yeah she had actually paid attention to this while learning to become a doctor. That meant her father was not her father. Her mom was her mom, but her blood clearly told her her father wasn't her father - though he was, at least in her hear. She guessed there was a lot she had to talk to about with her mom.
And him. But why him? Unless... Clarke took a deep breath, trying to brace herself for what might be coming. Was it possible he could be? Well he and her mom had chemistry from way before. But that was a new thing she ever considered. Her parents loved each other. But then again, life wasn't easy, relationships rarely had linear development. "Kane, what is it?"
