.:Name:. Brooklyn Ryder
.:Nick Name:. Ryder (common); Brooke (if you're braving the storm)
.:Affiliation:. Arker; Delinquent
.:Age:. Seventeen
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:.
What the Arker lacks in physical size or brutal muscularity she more than makes up for with a sharp mind, quick wit and deadly tongue. Many might mistake her for being anything other than the serpent of a woman that she is simply given her petite figure and fairer features. Blonde hair frames a set of a pristine canvas usually found to be lined with kohl mascara and a smoky eye to blaze about the bridge of oceanic blue hues. Those who find themselves gifted enough with a gesture or remark to find the girl giving breath to mirthful smirk would find such to illuminate and beautify features far beyond their usual limits. Though rarely would such an opportunity arise.
Fashionable in style (as much as possible given uniform standards and even less options upon the surface of their newly organic home), Ryder is hard-pressed to ever need exude much effort in perfecting catchy attire. That isn’t to say she is frequently known to sport bright coloured fabrics or knitted clothing, but rather there is such a confidence and cleanly kept aura about her she could potentially wear naught more than tissue and command notoriety for it.
.:Height:. 5'3"
.:Portrayed by:. Ashley Benson

.:Personality:.
Duty and loyalty are two things that Brooklyn Ryder finds herself most apt in. That being said there is a common familiarity in the way of a stern nature and placid features -- something that has held common modern attributes of one being able to properly call her by such names equivalent to a female dog. She is most easily personified with symbolic comparisons to a cream-filled crepe, given that there is a softer center to her harsh exterior. But perhaps a fresh dough of bread is not the best equivalent to her outside self, rather a tooth-cracking jawbreaker.
She has never been one to be known in going out of her way to directly torment or undermine someone else, especially an ally -- though to a foe she can be found to be quite brutal. If anything, the best word to describe the blonde Arker would be disinterested. This is largely due to the fact that the vast majority of her life was ruled by such law, knowledge and intellectual studies that it left little room for friendship or recreational activity. Brooke has been commonly mistaken for older given her matured personality by comparison to that of her delinquent peers.
Hardly the type to engage in a physicality regarding a debacle or disagreement, Ryder is far more the type to settle a debate with a harshly spun intellectual tongue of the silver nature. Whoever coined the saying: “Stick and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me”, clearly hadn’t met the Go-Sci intern before publishing such.
.:Special Skills:.
Above Average Intellect
Given her years of studies and strict tutelage, Ryder has been known to display above average human intellect on a majority of matters with a primary focus in leadership, government, politics and an overview of the sciences.
Skilled Diplomat
Given her manner of silver-tongue and approach, both learned and born characteristics, Ryder is known to have a greater chance at coining others or swaying them to her ideas. Such is also prevalent when it comes to attempting to negotiate matters, able to keep a cool and level head even in the most striking of events.
Basic First-Aid
Not one highly believing in others to accomplish such tasks, Ryder took it upon herself to learn the most basic skills of the medical field. While she has shown no extensive knowledge of these matters, she can offer basic aid in the field of battle to see an injured ally held over until able to receive higher quality of treatment from a more trained individual.
Familiarity
They say that knowledge is power and given her internship with the Go-Sci station and its council members, Ryder is able to frequent at least basic instances and even names concerning most inhabitants of the Ark. This is largely because she was responsible for paperwork, documentation and the behind the scenes work done for the busy headmasters of the Arkship.

.:Birthplace:. Ark Station Medical, The Ark
.:Family:. John Ryder (Father; deceased) and Felicity Ryder (Mother; deceased)
.:Occupation:. Student; Intern of the Go-Sci Station aboard The Ark.
.:History:.
Duty has been an oath long since sworn onto the bloodline of the Ryder family, heritage drawn into play long before the birth of one blonde-headed heir by the name of Brooklyn. Born as the only child to parents John and Felicity Ryder aboard the mecha-space station, a commonality among inhabitants of the Ark, Brooke was primed since a ripe age to follow in the footsteps of those which had seen her entry into this world. More specifically, her father.
Councilman Ryder served under the rule of Chancellor Diana Sydney and was a steadfast loyalist to her command that saw fit to enact and carry true the bylaws set into play by their predecessors centuries before. He was not a highly charismatic man and his demeanor coupled by way of stern features that held little regard for morality based in morality or heartfelt sentiments. There was simply no place for such thought processes amidst the titles that he held and certainly not throughout those who populated the Government & Science Station of the Ark. For heavy wore the mantle of one who donned the crown.
It was through such a firm rearing of life that Brooklyn saw her tutelage and upbringing to be coupled by the way of severe studies, vigilant pursuit of the common laws about the Arkship, and networked manipulation learned from the fatherly politician himself. After all, if one was to rule, they must first know their people.
Some say it was truly a wonder that John and Felicity ever found the company of one another due to their ‘opposite ends of the spectrum’ natures. And despite the usual kinship that a mother sought after with her only child, Brooklyn was much more her father’s daughter -- a girl who fought only to see him made proud.
Though pride found itself no place in the heart of John Ryder. There was no a shred of remorse the day he had sentenced her mother to capital punishment and saw her floated from their very lives upon finding her guilty of crimes committed against their command. Despite the tenderness he may have offered her at times, there was none to be found the day she wept for his silence. She had put him into a truly disappointing place, given his position of governmental authority. Should he allow her to slip beneath the way of the law, he would too have to offer blind eye to all others. And despite the home that they’d shared for many years and the influx of memories, he found no reprieve to offer his wife, Felicity. Some say that absolute power corrupts absolutely. John saw it as little more than enacting what he’d sworn to do.
But as the seat of command is ever changing, so too did a turn of ill-fated luck find Chancellor Sydney void of her titles and a new ruler to claim such a rightful place bringing with it the installation of a new council. John Ryder, now stripped of all political ties was reduced to little more than a mastermind of Science for their home station.
Brooklyn, however, had found herself under the internship and sworn fealty of the Go-Sci station and its political team for a long while after her father fell with the ex-chancellor's reign. Simply because the root of corruption was not within the Ryder name, but the chancellor they’d served instead and Brooke saw no such ties to the previous monarchy by means of her own standings. It was unfortunate her cabinet be seeded out with her, but that was simply a common sport in the game of politics. Brooke, however, had proven herself a mighty capable young woman with great potentials and understanding of the natural order of things that came with governing a body of individuals -- especially the Arkers. She had a deep loyalty to seeing the success of the Ark and its peoples.
Unfortunately, the loyalty of her father over all these years had been gravely misplaced.
On the eve of her seventeenth birthday, Ryder found her life entirely thrust into chaos as guardsmen approached to besiege her from routine documentation of the council's meetings. She'd been charged with treasonous acts against the new authority under established access that had been granted to her name and the database of the Ark. A fact of which she had been truly innocent of, but could not attest to the proof brought against her. It was only whilst being drug away to the dark sanctums of Lockup and witnessing the complacent expression upon her father's face that the harsh truths of betrayal found her entire demeanor crushed. For it was the man whom she'd admired all her life who had stolen away with her access card to enact a feat of terror in an attempt to crush the newly appointed reign.
It was he who had turned against her, just as he had her mother, framing her for his own acts done on behalf of the ex-chancellor Sydney to whom he was still secretly loyal.
A price he would pay when later revealing his defection to stow away with Sydney's uproar aboard the stolen drop ship set for Earth that would see a crashed landing truly erupting into a fireworks display of brutal karma.
But it was the memories of such familial treason that Brooklyn would never forget.
