Sera was glad to be on the ground, to be free. There were no rules, something she didn't completely agree with, but it sure as hell made life easier. The only problem was, the bracelets everyone wore, they would tell the people on the Ark if they were still alive. If the other delinquents were still alive, Sera didn't doubt that the Ark would soon follow. Then there would be rules, then there would be punishments, and then there would be the locked cells, that rule breakers would be locked in. The Ark was an enemy, more like the Chancellor was, but it was all the same to Sera.
She had to find a way to get the bracelet off, so it would look like she was dying, or even dead, whichever. If enough people took off their bracelets, then the Ark would think they were dead, and wouldn't follow. Some of the delinquents would most likely follow the rules brought by the Ark, most of them probably wouldn't. And Sera knew that if she didn't follow the rules, she would be punished. She wouldn't let the Ark control her, not again, not ever. "I need to find a way." She was now thinking of a plan, she'd seen others try and take their bracelets off. They didn't get them off, none of them had the strength. They would need some other way to get them off, but only if they knew how.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT They had survived the first stage, proving that the air wasn't toxic to them. But now came the rest of the stages of survival. The first, was cutting ties with the Ark. Perhaps this stage was more for Bellamy's benefit than anyone else's. If the Ark knew it was safe and followed them down, he would undoubtedly be killed for his crime. No one assassinated the Chancellor and would merely get away with it. It was why it was integral that he convince the others to the remove the one thing that kept them linked to the Ark. Jaha Junior and the princess saw things differently . . . but fortunately, the Princess was gone along with a small group of others.
This provided Bellamy with the perfect opportunity to start campaigning. He had already managed to convince a few, he would work on the rest. Giving them the belief that they weren't being controlled, that they were free . . . while trying to keep them under some semblance of his own control. Or at least what benefitted him, and well, the whole group. He had already reigned in a few of the wild cards -- Murphy and Mgebe -- and now, he just needed to work on the rest.
While the others were getting their tents set up, as Bellamy was one of the people distributing them, a young delinquent caught his eye. One who was still wearing the difference. She was alone and he supposed that now was good a time as any to continue to work the crowd. "You get a tent?" He asked, starting the conversation casually about the make shift shelter on the ground. "Or at least a tent mate, since some of us have to buddy up," he added on. He wouldn't be though. He had no intentions of getting a tent mate . . . apart from whomever he chose to spend his night with for more . . . intimate purposes.

Sera's thoughts were interrupted by another person, she knew him because he was always playing the leadership role, mostly because people listened to him. He may be annoying in ways, but he was the only person besides Clarke who'd actually stepped up. And for that reason exactly, Sera respected him in the slightest of ways. Clarke had run off somewhere, stating that she needed to get food. By the way Clarke stood, Sera could tell that she was determined not to get everyone else killed. "You got a tent?" Sera looked up at him. "No, I've been sleeping in the trees. Let them give the tent to someone else, I don't need it. Nor do I want a tent mate, then they would know that I usually just wait until dark before lea-" Sera stopped for a second, she wasn't going to tell some stranger what she'd been up to. It was partially the reason she'd been using the trees, to escape into the forest and study the plants.
It wasn't bad that she was studying plants, just that she'd not been doing anything productive besides that. She hadn't even gained that much knowledge of the plants, her research was limited to what she knew, and what she had learned in the few years of school she'd passed. "Before I continue my tests." She wasn't only studying plants, she was also trying to get the bracelet off. For some reason she couldn't get it off herself, she would need both her hands to get it off, which was impossible since her other hand had the bracelet on it. She looked up at him, he was tall, he was actually kinda cute, but then again, what would she know, she'd been alone all her life.
"Listen, I know that you came because of your sister and all, but don't constantly follow her around or protect her. I met her a few times in the Skybox, she just wants to be free. That means from you as well." Serafina's eyes searched his face, looking for any emotion that would lead her to conclude anything else about him. He was someone to watch, so by talking face to face she could learn even more about him.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT She dismissed the idea of having a tent, or a tent mate . . . even commenting about leaving at night. Despite the fact that her sentence trailed off, Bellamy wasn't an idiot. He could easily piece together the rest of it. A small smirk played on his features, a slightly raised brow. "Don't be an idiot," he said bluntly. Cushioning a blow wasn't exactly something he bothered doing. Straight, blunt, direct, to the point. "Sleeping in the trees or sneaking out is only gonna get you killed faster." Hell, he still thought it was a dumb idea for the princess to go out there like that, not even knowing what was out there. The fact that Octavia was with them left him perpetually worried. But that was nothing new he supposed. He came down here to protect her and he was damn well going to do that.
"What tests?" He asked with minimal interest. It wasn't until her comment about his sister, that his smirk fully faded. He eyed her, unappreciative of her supposed advice. His sister was a sensitive subject for him . . . more so when someone tried to act like they knew her, or him, or the situation. "You giving me advice about my sister? Real cute." His words mocking, taunting, unimpressed. "How about you don't act like you know anything about us." Because she didn't. No one did. His words weren't loud, but they were serious. He didn't need to raise his voice to get the point across. But nor was he going to condone someone acting like they knew Octavia better than him, just because they had met her in the Skybox. No. He had raised, been with her every single day. And he was down here, for her. And for the woman before him to claim that she wanted to be free, from him . . . well, Bellamy was hardly impressed. "Like I said before, don't be an idiot." The insult coming more easy now after hearing her words.

Sera hardly flinched at Bellamy's insult. She was used to it, she had become used to hearing the guards from the Skybox saying how much a waste of air all the delinquents were. Maybe it was true, but at least now they were sent here to die. "I'm not being an idiot. I just learn things from watching others, and all I pick up about you is that you came down here to protect your sister, and the fact that you act like everyone should do what you want." Serafina's voice got quieter at the end comment, after all, wasn't Bellamy the one who had said "Whatever the hell we want."? And by doing what he said, wasn't doing whatever the hell that we want.
"It won't get me killed if I learn not to get killed." Serafina stood a little taller, she had learned to listen when she was out, listen for anything, and movement, or any snap of a twig. "Of course, everyone should play dead every now and then." Serafina's wrist twitched, a small sign that if they took off their bracelets they would be dead to the Ark. "Oh, and the trees are a good place to sleep, because you see everything, hear everyone." She stared him hard in the eye. She wouldn't let him know that she was going to do anything he wanted, because she wouldn't.
"Testing the effects of certain plants. All recorded in here." Sera pulled out her journal from her bag, she'd been writing in it for awhile now. It had all sorts of information and ideas, some about Earth, and some just ideas that would be useful. "I have to test the effects on animals, unfortunately. Like rabbits and deer, things like that." Serafina wasn't happy that she had to test effects on animals, but she certainly wasn't going to do it on humans. "Radiation has changed almost every animal and plant. There are many new things that we won't ever know the effects of unless we do tests. That was of course, the reason why I was doing it." Sera held the journal close to her, she wasn't going to let anybody see it without a fair deal first.
"Well I thought it might help. But that's good to know, at least I know now that you're strongly protective of your sister, aren't you. She's nice, Octavia is. She's smart too, if anyone would be able to survive it's be her." Serafina decided to not mention anything else about Bellamy's sister. "Oh, and by the way, name's Serafina. But just call me Sera if you'd like." Sera stuck her hand out for Bellamy to shake, and it was something Sera hadn't done for awhile. It was a sign of respect, she'd learned that at an early age. Her parents had taught her well, but she wasn't sure if they could've taught her anything to prepare her for the journey on Earth.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT A slight smirk played on Bellamy's features once more as she spoke of how she'd picked up on the fact that he'd come here to protect his sister . . . and that he was trying to make everyone do what he wanted. "You know, maybe you should watch less, and listen more." Another mocking statement, sarcastic, though not without brutal honestly. "Cause the message I'm sending, is whatever the hell we want." A popular statement; one that had been chanted as if to symbolize their freedom from the Ark. "That's not just what I want. That's what everyone wants. Freedom." He paused for a moment, his eyes purposely falling to the metal bracelet that was still wrapped around her wrist, his gaze lingering there before looking back at the delinquent's face.
"Well except maybe you," he stated. "Considering you're still wearing what makes you a prisoner." A prisoner of the Ark. She then spoke of how it wouldn't get her killed if she learned not to get killed. "Yeah well first you gotta learn how to not get killed," he pointed out. "But hey, it's whatever the hell you want. And if you want to sneak out and explore, go for it." Bellamy was no one's babysitter. Despite that protective instinct that existed deep down within him . . . right now, it served his purpose to act the asshole that some of them perceived him to be. She went on to explain her notes, Bellamy's interest minimal. He had quickly learned who held what kind of knowledge, and the kid, Monty -- who had gone off with the others -- apparently had extensive knowledge of plants as well. "Looks like you paid attention in Earth Skills," he said a bit teasingly.
So had he. He had gotten along with his professor, Charles Pike. But he wasn't thinking of it right now, not in the same theoretical way that others may be. "Well have fun with that," he said sarcastically. "There's a few others here who have mutual interest in plants. Bet you'll have lots to talk about with them." He knew well enough that everyone would have to play their part. Bellamy's knowledge wasn't heavily in medical expertise, or herbology . . . but that was what the others were for. The subject of his sister was one that he was not going to overly engage in. Fortunately, Serafina didn't push it either. Octavia was indeed a survivor. His family had been surviving in one way or another. Perhaps it was why they could deal with the fear of what this place now held . . . they had been in fear of their lives since the day Octavia was born.
Bellamy's eyes fell to Serafina's extended hand, a slightly raised eyebrow. Instinct took over and he decided to accept the greeting, reaching out to take her hand in his own, shaking it. "Serafina," he repeated in acknowledgement, as well as used her name to lead into the next bit. He figured she already knew his name. Instead of releasing it after an appropriate amount of time, he gave it a slight squeeze as he just held it -- not enough to hurt her of course, as it was leading to his next statement. "Are you ready to be truly free?" He asked, looking at her intently, referring to of course, the metal around her wrist that kept her connected to the Ark.

Sera didn't not listen most of the time, it was just that she trusted what she saw more than what she heard. She knew the message, but at the same time it felt like people were trying to control them, not just Bellamy. There had to be rules, without rules chaos would be a common sight with the 100, even if it already wasn't. "Okay, sure. I'll listen more." Sera wasn't going to try and argue, she had that much sense. Bellamy wasn't supposed to be here, and whatever he did to get down here was probably bad enough.
Freedom. It was something she'd never experienced, but she had dreamed of it multiple times. Being able to do whatever she wanted, not having anyone taken away for saying the wrong thing. It seemed like freedom was good, but if it wasn't, then what? "I've been trying to get it off, but I need both of my hands to get it off, so I haven't been able to." Sera pulled at her bracelet, it wasn't very comfortable to wear, it had hurt much more when they put it on, though. Serafina hadn't really paid attention much in Earth skills, or any class for that matter. She'd just spent a lot of time around farmers, so she'd learned how to manage plants and tell if something could be eaten. "No, I never really paid much attention in that class. I was supposed to be a farmer when I was older, so I learned a lot from my apprenticeship." She had hated that apprenticeship, it was so boring since the person who was training her seemed like he was one hundred years old. Sera knew there were a lot of other people who'd had interests in plants, but she never approached them, mostly because she didn't really enjoy social activities.
Bellamy took her hand and shook it, as if it was instinct. Maybe it was, hell half the people here had instincts that scared Serafina slightly. Bellamy wasn't one of those people, but a few others were. "Are you ready to be truly free?" Sure she was, but a part of her still wanted to be in the Ark, with both her parents not dead. She'd had so many memories on the Ark, but half of them were like she was walking through hell all over again. "Sure, get this damn thing off me." Now Sera was ready to be free.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy slightly cocked his head to the side when she readily agreed to listen more. It didn't sound like sarcasm or a smart ass statement. For that, he was able to maintain his composure; to find value in speaking to this particular delinquent. Furthermore when she spoke of how she had been trying to get the bracelet off but couldn't due to logistical reasons. Now that was where Bellamy could help. "Well it's a good thing that I know how," he told her with a bit of a smirk, consistently playing on his features when the subject of the bracelet continued.
"Well I guess this place could be a farmer's dream come true," he said with a bit of sarcasm, considering what the Ark had attempted to teach them and how futile so much of it seemed to be when faced with the dangers they were unprepared for. He gave a short nod when she told him to get the thing off of her. Now that was not something he needed to be told twice. He gave a short nod, and released her wrist before pulling out his makeshift dagger. "Have a seat, roll up your sleeve and put your arm out," he instructed. "The sooner we do this, the better." And one more person the Ark would think was dead. Thus, one more reason for them not to come down.

Sera hated arguing, it seemed like a waste of time to her. Bellamy seemed surprised that she had agreed to listen so easily. She didn't know why, but everyone seemed to hate arguing as well, exceptions could be made for the one's that actually had a major reason to argue, like in a debate. Serafina had known that a few people had taken their bracelets off, the people on the Ark who were watching probably thought it was just a fluke, or that they'd been killed by something. But the truth was, about a third of the delinquents didn't want the Ark to come down after them, Sera included.
"No not really. For a full farmer, it'd probably be equal to walking through Hell. But since I was still in training, my skills were still new to me, so this is good practice. The plants are all different, only half have good effects, such as energy boosts. The other half's effects are still unknown." Sera smiled a bit, she was partially happy that Bellamy would get the damn bracelet off of her, the other half that the farmers on the Ark would never get to learn any of the plants, of course, if they thought that everyone was dead.
"Okay." Sera obeyed, and did what Bellamy told her to do. She sat on her knees, rolled up her sleeve, and put her arm out. "Is it going to hurt?" She looked at Bellamy, she had hated pain all her life. Probably because half of it was mental, pain from her parents mistakes, pain from being sent to a family that was so stupid. Now that she was on the ground, she probably should build up a physical pain tolerance. Things that seemed easy here, could end badly, and Sera sure as hell wasn't going to be caught crying.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy listened to her speak of how this was hell for a farmer. "This down here, is real farming," he added. A place that they could actually plant crops . . . for those who knew what the hell they were doing. But Bellamy wasn't concerned about that. They could if they wanted to, but that was more long term goals. And well, Bellamy could only take this one day at a time. Right now, the main objective was to prevent the Ark from following them down. Because if they did, there was no way in hell he could stay here. He'd rather take his chances out there than be guaranteed an execution, which is what would happen as penalty for killing the Chancellor. A truth he was still coping with with. When she got into position, Bellamy held his blade, leaning toward her, as she asked whether it would hurt. "Might tug a little," he warned, not about to sugar coat it with a false answer to her concern.
"But shouldn't be too bad." With that, he held down her wrist, slipping the blade through the very tight space between the skin of her wrist and the metal bracelet, though ensured not to cut her skin. Pressing her wrist down with one hand, he pulled up with the other, fiddling with the clasp that bound it together, needing to find just the right leverage for it to snap open. Which, it eventually did. Once it opened up, Bellamy stood upright once more, letting the now useless bracelet fall to the ground, as he tucked away his blade, a smirk playing on his features. He extended his hand for her to take so that he could help her to her feet once more. "Congratulations. You're officially no longer a prisoner." No longer a prisoner of the Ark and all their rules. She was free. Just like the others who had rid themselves of the shackles that the Ark forced upon them.
