Who knew that a simple day to day thing could be the very thing that would save Abigail? While ALIE controlled them, she let them have autonomy in their day to day activities, and it is while going to infirmary (because even without pain they needed to be healed) that she trips. Perhaps it was fate, perhaps mere luck, but she falls back onto an exposed pipe with a jagged edge that cuts deep into the back of her neck before smacking her skull on it. For a time Abby is knocked out. Blood seeps down the back of her neck onto the floor and down into her shirt and with it, the AI. It takes time as it removes itself, the blood congealing into a black mess, but no one comes down the corridor.
It takes time to come to reality and not quite a small bit of groaning. Her head pounds and her neck aches, but more than that, her body feels as if it is on fire and also weighted. Chestnut eyes stare up at the ceiling as she comes to and slowly she rolls over, dizzy with the loss of blood. Memories hit her in a rush, everything that had happened since the moment she took the key. Swiftly she rises, wobbly and stumbling, and she heads directly for the infirmary, pausing long enough to make sure no one is inside. If anything Abby is efficient, her fear heightening her so that she can think past her pain. She grabs a bag and proceeds to shove supplies in it, grabbing a large bandage and fastening it on the back of her neck before rolling it all around. It is uncomfortable but she also couldn't just leave it gaping open.
Then the real flight begins.
Kane! That is her first thought. He had been removed from the cross (and now she feels horror where before she had felt nothing) not too long ago and had joined them. She felt sick, a combination of knowing what she had done and the pain that seemed to radiate everywhere. She spies him then in the hall on the ground floor. It is a chore to mask her face into something more bland, a face that fit all who carried the AI. "Marcus. Help me with the prisoners. It is time to see if they will take the key," she says. It takes skill for her voice not to waver, for her eyes not to blink in a telling manner, but she does not wait to see if he will follow. She heads out and down the steps to where the prisoners were being held. The back of her neck seems to prickle knowing he is there, knowing that she had to get him someplace away from the others before she could help him, and one hand remained to her side at all times with a scalpel hidden by her fingers.
The guards stand to attention at the top of the stairs and she doesn't even nod to them as they go down. She is startled, really, by the number of people inside as she pushes the door open. Murphy was there and Indra! And.. Pike. She stares at him for only a moment before pointing. "Hold him." Why they needed to hold them, who knew, but she hoped Marcus didn't question, just complied. She followed him. Closer, closer, closer, until the moment Marcus was right next to Pike and those metal bars. Only then did she shove her weight into him to push him against the bars, scalpel swiping across the back of his neck if he holds still long enough.
(I reckon Marcus should go next so he comes to and then Pike )
