She has green eyes and long red hair, which she wears in three french braids.

.:Personality: Though Monroe has always had courage, she feels fear just as most others do. During her time on the ground, this has been brought to light during the delinquents' clashes and battles with the grounders, particularly in the time after they first landed. However, she has shown bravery and determination, pressing on when others have given up. Despite her fear getting the better of her on previous occasions, together with character traits she already possessed and the inspiration of Bellamy Blake's leadership of the delinquents, Monroe has become stronger and more courageous, fiercely loyal to those she trusts and willing to follow their lead.

.:Special Skills: Monroe is from factory station and consequently has some skill with machinery, demonstrated when helping by drilling the door of Mount Weather during the rescue of the 48. She has become skilled with weapons, particularly guns, having first been a gunner for Bellamy's Militia, and going on to join the guard in Arkadia. Monroe has some limited hand-to-hand combat skills, for which she is in training and still learning from Bellamy and Lincoln.

.:History: When arrested on the Ark, as Zoe Monroe was under the age of 18, she was sent to the Sky Box to await a review of her crime once she became an adult. However, she was instead sent to the ground with the rest of the 100 delinquents to discover whether or not Earth was survivable. Once on the ground, she settled into the Dropship camp along with the others, soon learning of the dangers they faced in their new home. Monroe is one of the group who went in search of Octavia Blake when she went missing, continuing on with a few once many of the other delinquents turned back having reached official Grounder territory. She survived the attack which killed several of the group, the rest of them eventually following Lincoln to his cave and finding Octavia. Monroe kept watch as the others freed her.

During the delinquents' battle against the Grounders, as a gunner Monroe was stationed in one of the foxholes with Nathan Miller and Octavia Blake, later joined by Bellamy Blake. As the Grounders advanced, Monroe eventually fled in fear after running out of bullets. Monroe and Sterling later met up with Bellamy who was tracking Finn, the other being Tristan's prisoner. Bellamy formed a plan of attack, but Monroe and Sterling failed to back him up and Bellamy was taken prisoner. The two trailed them and regardless of her initial lack of courage, inspired by Bellamy's words Monroe recalled them to motivate herself and Sterling to take action and the two finally ran out to attack.

Monroe later accompanied Bellamy, Finn, Sterling and Murphy in their search for the missing delinquents. After Sterling fell to his death and Bellamy attempted to rescue Mel, the group were attacked by Grounders and Monroe took up her gun to defend them, her leg wounded by an arrow in the process. When Octavia arrived and tended to her injury, Monroe returned with the Blake siblings to the Arker camp. She went with the Arkers to Mount Weather, assisting in the rescue plan by drilling the main door for the others to place a bomb. Though she was later captured along with the others, she made it out of Mount Weather alive and returned once again to the Arker camp. Once the camp became more established, Monroe joined the Arkadia guard, remaining under Bellamy Blake's leadership in much of her training.
