.:Name:. Bronte Achilles Pottinger .:Nick Name:. Bront, Brawny .:Affiliation:. Delinquent .:Age:. 18
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Tall, a touch scrawny, but nimble. It has always been Bronte’s gift that his lanky arms and legs are not the awkward appendages of so many of his kind. Long-limbs and an elongated torso describe his body, with his dirty blonde hair following suit. Angular facial features, a wide-set nose and seafoam green eyes adorn his face. Ears just a touch too big for his head and a square chin create a profile that he is usually embarrassed of. His features have always been feminine, and as a child he was teased relentlessly for them, but as he grew his jaw squared off and his skin tone darkened just enough to offset his light eyes. .:Height:. 6’0 .:Portrayed by:. Emil Andersson

.:Personality:. The product of an avidly-reading schoolteacher and a scientifically-minded mechanic, Bronte inherited most of his qualities from his mother. However, there are moments when his father will shine through in him. His mother passed down to him her love of reading and certainly her humanistic mindset. His father, however, gave to him an attention to detail and a love of the minutiae of life. Bronte, although mechanically-challenged, grew up loving puzzles, Gothic literature, and social interactions. He is rather outspoken and entertaining as he feels it is often his job to be both the comic relief and the literate conversationalist. He thrives off of social interaction and although his personality begets no real use-value in this apocalyptic world, he continues to believe that his mission in life is to keep the spirits up. He is forever the jokester, but more importantly he finds it impossible not to at least attempt to help those in need. Again, he is largely without any tangible use-value on the ground except that he often takes on the role of impromptu therapist.
However, as is usually the case, behind the smile lurks something darker, something more mischievous. He is sometimes prone to impishness and more often than not inclined towards the macabre. This part of his personality manifested as he came to terms with his sexuality at a very young age and has remained with him just below the surface. He prides himself in being able to find the beautiful in most things and people, but sometimes surprises even himself in how dark his mind can get.
A sensual and curious creature from birth, he is an incurable romantic and a pitiful optimist in most situations, especially that of love. It isn’t naivety that spurs him forward, as he has been hurt a few times, but rather a blind hope that keeps in him search of his true love. Not even this end-of-worlds mentality (and reality) will stop him from being happy. On a smaller note, he is likewise constantly at war with himself because of the state of life on Earth. As much as he was curious and touchy-feely as a child, he was also very hygienically-aware and this created in him a constant disdain of the dirtiness of the life of the delinquents on Earth. Thus, he is often the first to volunteer for water-retrieval duty and will steal moments for cleaning himself, guilt-free.
.:Special Skills:. Bronte has an exceptional memory and enjoys little more than learning. This has made him highly adaptable to social situations, but less so in physical altercations. His ability to recall the minutiae of what he reads is fascinating, but he is an incurable romantic so the majority of what he knows comes from literature and history. He refers to himself as scientifically-challenged as he finds the artistic side of life much more fulfilling. A few of his friends taught him the basics when it comes to first-aid and combat, but he’s much better at running for help or just running away. He wants to learn more about healing and first-aid so as to be of more assistance to the group and is actively seeking this knowledge. He spends much of his time in the medical tent and makes himself as useful as possible. Let someone ask him about a classic love story, though, and you will see him shine.

.:Birthplace:. The Arc .:Family:. Mother: Janie Pottinger, Schoolteacher. Father: Charlie Pottinger, Mechanic in Mecha Station .:Occupation:. Resident listener and volunteer for maintenance of living conditions on Earth. So, probably a cleaner. .:History:. Bronte was born to a schoolteacher mother and a mechanic father, into a world of love and care. His early years were traditional in their progression except for his budding attraction to the boys in his class. He was such a curious child that he would often get reprimanded for eavesdropping and shooed out of places not fit for his small ears. A delicate child, he spent a majority of his days with his mother, reading and rereading her books. He was briefly engaged to a girl at their mutual age of eight and their life was a fantastic one. It was filled with adventure (which mostly included sneaking into places they weren’t supposed to be and taking books, reading them and returning them before anyone could notice.
As puberty set in, his playful engagement had to be broken and he set his mind to having a torrid love-affair (whatever that meant to him) with the son of his father’s friend. The two grew immensely close and kept their secret kisses hidden away until one night at the age of 15 Bronte was caught stealing books from other classrooms and hoarding them for him and his beloved to devour in private later. In his flair for the dramatic he ran, attempting to evade his accuser, with the handful of contraband and smashed directly into a Council Member. He was sentenced for theft and remanded to the Skybox for his crimes. There was nothing worse than the look on his mother’s face, as he passed her on his way to his confinement.
Sometimes he thought even being sent to Earth wasn’t worse than that moment. As much as he was a curious child he was also one that put his emotions first and one that took the roles assigned to him in life very seriously. He had let his mother down and there could be no cure for that. His mother, knowing her child well, was allowed to visit him and was always sure to read to him from any of his favorite books. These were some of his most pleasant memories.
On Earth, he has taken on the role as amateur therapist for many of the delinquents, taking mental health as seriously as physical health. He is a dramatic, nurturing, curious, and hopelessly romantic individual who comes by every one of those attributes honestly. He takes his tasks on Earth seriously, but is little in the way of a physical laborer. Instead, he prefers the maintenance of the psyche and morale of the delinquents. His lack of practical training is something he longs to change as he believes it will one day be his downfall, but only as long as it does not impede upon his other duties. His is a great and terrible beauty.
