Octavia Blake
I don't want to survive. I want to live.
Last night there had been a commotion outside the gates, and O had run to see what it was. Her fear at been it was Lincoln but it was---It was Murphy! O didn't care about the rules, or that he was supposed to be killed if he came back. That was before. This was now. Seeing him beat to hell, she had ran to him, and helped bring him in side. O wasn't everyone's favorite person right now, but no one seemed to question her taking Murphy to the dropship and trying to get him water and a bit of food.
O sat near him as morning came, and people started giving him space. She wasn't quite protecting him, but more trying to make sure both sides (the others and Murphy) were not going to hurt each other. Handing over a make shift plate with some fruit on it, she tried to get him to eat. He looked like hell. She knew Lincoln's people were dangerous but . . . She didn't like seeing it on someone she used to know. While she had never really liked John Murphy (he was an ass hole), she wasn't the type who liked to see others hurt. When the crowd had tried to hang him, she had even tried to help, but Bellamy had pulled her back and kept her from it. Not that it would have done any good.
Once they were alone, she leaned forward toward him. He had to have been desperate to come here. "You need anything?" She asked, thinking of how her brother had beat on Lincoln, and now the Tree Nation had beat on Murphy. It would never end. "There are blankets." She offered, though she didn't move to get them. She knew they had to both be worried aboutt he same thing--what would happen when Bellamy got back.

When he'd felt a gentle touch, he's responded with a burst of desperate energy and backed away like a frightened animal. But they'd taken him in. Octavia had taken him in. He was thankful for that but expected it would only aggravate her brother when he inevitably stepped in at any moment to execute him. At least he might do it quick. Even so, Murphy didn't want to die. Hadn't he run from the grounders, after all? Run and run until he couldn't any longer.
Once in the relative safety of the dropship for some time, he'd drifted a little, in and out of a semi-consciousness and aware of Octavia close by. She had seemed to be watching over rather than guarding him, evident in small gestures and a quiet word here and there. His hands were still shaking when she passed him the plate of fruit, he couldn't seem to get them to stop. Maybe he'd stay this way until someone put him out of his misery. Something deep within recoiled at the thought. He was still vying for life.
Murphy took the plate but set it aside after a second or two. All he tasted was blood but it was something else that was now making him nauseous. Shock? Exhaustion? Who knew what is was? Either way, he couldn't eat. As Octavia spoke up now they were alone, as far as he could tell, Murphy took a moment to focus on her. He was struggling to see things with the usual clarity, with one eye swollen shut entirely, but he fixed his weary gaze on Octavia as she offered help. Odd in itself, the kindness she showed, but needed. He shook his head at the suggestion of blankets. Sure he was shivering but he was warm, uncomfortably so. "Just water... " He swallowed thickly following the request, as if the mention reminded him how parched he still was despite having already been given some earlier, his voice strained. "... You know your brother will kill us if you stay in here... me anyway."

"Just water... " O sat there for a second before finally getting slowly up to get him water. She noticed that he didn't eat, and she didn't know what to do about it. Clarke was the only doctor like they had and she was gone with Bellamy right now. O had never seen someone so beaten they weren't able to eat. It was upsetting in a way. Walking back she handed him the water, and then took her seat once again. "... You know your brother will kill us if you stay in here... me anyway." O took a deep breath and held it for a moment, before letting it slowly go.
"Yeah, well if it makes you feel better, it might not be just you." Her and Bell were having a lot of issues between them right now. He had gone off and kidnapped Lincoln, beat him, and then she'd gotten the whole camp high to let him go. After a failed attempt at making peace, now both sides hated her. "A lot has changed around here." And she hated it. She rather be out there then in here. But she didn't have a choice right now. She had to stay here. "Maybe it wont be so bad? Clarke could come back first." She was bull shitting him and they both had to know it. A part of her wanted to ask him what ha happened, and who had done it. She wanted to ask a lot but she had never seen anyone so scared. Because of that she was just sitting with him. Making sure that nothing happened until Clarke got back. She wouldn't just let him die.

Murphy watched as Octavia fetched him water, still curious and a touch suspicious of her care. Had they left her here to gain his trust in some way, get information on things he would readily tell them anyway? The idea was absurd and Murphy knew it, despite his suspicions. They, being Bellamy and Clarke, would have been in here themselves firing questions and demanding answers, if not killing him outright. Had they been here, which as time went on he suspected was not the case.
It wouldn't be much longer. Then he would have to deal with that, come what may. Taking the water once Octavia returned with it, he did his best to steady his grasp while she spoke, drawing the cup in close and curling both hands around as he took a long sip. A lot had changed? It was surely for the worse going by her tone, along with the comments on her brother. It was rhetoric but no, it didn't make him feel any better. Murphy managed a faint humorless smile at her last comment, They both knew Bellamy would make sure to get first shot at him, literally, but he almost appreciated the feigned hope of her words as pointless as they were. Maybe even the princess would call for the execution. Murphy had returned after all, broken the terms, even if it had been an act of desperation. "Is that why you're in here? Big brother's got you confined to the dropship?" He wouldn't put it past Bellamy, but Octavia wasn't exactly easy to lock down.

O was wanted to ask about Lincoln but so far she had managed not too. It was hard, but she wasn't going to push him too hard. He looked like hell. She didn't wish this on anyone! "Is that why you're in here? Big brother's got you confined to the dropship?" That made her eyes flash with anger, mostly because it was almost true. She wasn't allowed to leave camp and once again she had people here making sure she obeyed. "Bellamy is not my keeper." She told him in a measured tone. Bellamy had been playing king of the mountain ever since they landed. Which had been fine when it wasn't conflicting with what she wanted. Now he was telling her it was for her own good, and she was only getting more upset with him! He didn't understand! He thought Lincoln was evil, and he wasn't! He was trying to help!
O knew that Bell was pissed at her, and everyone here hated her, but she didn't care! She had spent 16 years locked up in her home, and another year locked in a cell! She was done following their orders, and staying locked up! She didn't leave however, because she wondered if Lincoln's people would do that too her. They hated her people now thanks to Jasper, and Bellamy and Raven's actions on the bridge. She could never be with him. Not here. They'd have to leave. Go far away. Apart of her wanted it. "Murphy . . . what happened?" she finally asked, but her tone was soft, and O found herself bracing for the answer. She wasn't sure she wanted to know. He looked like hell. No one deserved that.

Murphy may have still more or less been working with only one eye, but he could see right away the anger in Octavia's. He figured that could mean one of two things. Either he was right and Bellamy had his little sister practically imprisoned 'for her own good', or she was furious at the very suggestion of it. Perhaps both were true. Bellamy may not be her keeper, but that didn't mean the leader didn't consider himself to be. Murphy knew he more or less did. Back when they had landed Bellamy had made it clear Octavia was off limits, and when his warning went unheeded, he'd taken action. Atom had been on the receiving end and served as an example to anyone else who had aspirations to get close to Octavia. Yes, he was his sister's keeper, no matter her rebellions.
He didn't vocalize a contradiction, not wanting to enter into a debate about something that in all honesty he didn't care about. All he knew was that Bellamy did what he wanted, imposed his own rules where he wanted, after claiming they needed none. His own set of twisted morals. Murphy decided Octavia must be on the wrong side of those at the moment. He wasn't sure if he'd been expecting her question but regardless, it took him aback for a few seconds. Not so much that she had asked, but more that he had to answer. Remaining silent he looked to his torn fingernails, discreetly, almost secretive as he did so, but eventually spoke up. "Grounders happened. They didn't like me very much..."

Octavia Blake
I don't want to survive. I want to live.
Grounders happened. O swallowed back her emotion that crept up into her mouth at having what she knew confirmed. Grounders. Lincoln had warned her it wasn't safe. What would they do to him now that the peace meeting had failed? Shifting her seat she tried to think of something to say to offer him some sort of support. Murphy had never been her favorite person--in fact there was times she had wanted to deck him--but this level of violence. Had they done this to him because of what Bellamy had done to Lincoln? What would happen when they caught another grounder? Would this ever end?
Murphy had the camp spooked. Everyone was edgy because they thought he escaped and the grounders would be looking for him. "We found guns," She offered the knowledge to him. "So we can defend ourselves here." It seemed to be the only real defense against the grounders. She hated it. There seemed to be no way for peace. There was only more and more violence. She inhaled deeply and dropped her shoulders as she exhaled. A trait she didn't know she picked up from her brother. After a long silent moment she spoke up again, not sure if he would laugh at her for this. Still, she would make the offer. "If you want to try to sleep, I wont let anyone come in here." After what he had been through, she doubted he would sleep.
"If you want to try to clean up some, I can get you water." Bellamy might not want him here, but O figured that was in the past. None of them were the same people anymore. "I get that you might not really trust me, but you being here makes me the second most hated person right now. So, I'm not worried about pissing them off." They didn't touch her for fear of Bellamy.
