THE HELL WE WANT
His father had made it very clear that Bellamy was not to delve deeper into this. Hell, he had practically ordered him not to. But Bellamy didn't listen. He knew the consequences this could have, what would happen if it came out that someone had two children . . . that he had a sibling. At the same time, family had always been his top priority. How could he just carry on with every day business, knowing that he had a sister out there. He wanted to at least meet her, even if it wasn't under the role of her brother. He had done some research on her. Lilly Cartwig.
She was five years younger and was in school of course. Though fate, provided him an opportunity to cross paths with her in a fairly casual way. They had a field trip coming up that involved an extensive tour of the Ark. They would need proper chaperones to help and Bellamy offered himself as a volunteer. As he was in the guard program -- and considering who his father was -- they eagerly accepted his offer. Which was what brought him to where he was right now. Watching the group of students filter out of their classroom where he stood waiting.
He exchanged a few words with the teacher before she introduced him, telling his name, position, and role here today. Bellamy's eyes scanned over the crowd, forcing them not to remain on Lilly. But there she was. His sister. He couldn't explain the way he felt his heart swell with emotion. Which was strange. Because this was all still so new. He wasn't even certain the magnitude of it had fully hit him.
As the group began to move on, Bellamy conveniently -- and not coincidentally -- placed himself near Lilly, nonchalantly walking with the tour but he had preference to stand near her. This was the best opportunity -- maybe the only opportunity -- he would have to get to know her. To properly meet her. "Is this your first in depth tour of the Ark?" He asked her. It felt like a stupidly casual question to ask one's newly discovered sister . . . but he couldn't be shady about this. He couldn't arouse any sort of suspicion.
