.:Personality:. Roan is a calculated person. He has grown up around royalty, had learned from childhood onwards to live around schemes and plans and was often subject of those. He learned from them, got a thick skin. He takes a while to trust people. Contrary to his upbringing, Roan likes honesty a lot more than scheming. He believes truths need to be heard, even if they were painful, so he doesn’t hold back with them.

.:History:. Roan was born as the heir Azgedas royalty needed for their line to go on and he was mostly just that. His mother, though he later learned that she probably loved him, left him to handmaidens and teachers to raise him most of the time. From the young age of four did he start being trained as a warrior, handed from teacher to teacher to make him the best warrior prince possible. Among the teachers he got a companion in Ontari, enjoying her company.
Their paths parted when he got older, having to join the war against heda and the alliance she was trying to build. His mother was against the coalition and so by proxy, he was, too. Apparently part of that was to weaken Azgeda after his mother executed a woman called Costia, a spy as he heard, but he only had access to one side of the story and didn’t think that was the full truth. In his absence it resulted in him paying the price for his mothers decision, as he was the one being banished.
In the wilderness, Roans main goal was to get back to his people, whatever the cost was. If she could replace her heir, he could get back and take his position back, even if it meant working with Lexa and thus effectively betraying his mother. They were even, in that case.
