Save his people. Thats all Pike wanted to do. That was his goal. War isn't what he wanted, but if it had to come to that. Then so be it. His people had weapons, he wiped out an entire village that was there to kill them. Pike was in the chancellor quarters standing in front of a board that had locations and information. His eyes running everywhere all over the board. His hands intwined behind his back. There was a brief knock on his door "Come in" He said turning his attention to the door opening. Bellamy walked in with his arm holding someone. Then he saw who it was. Clarke. She was in handcuffs. Good, Pike could use her. Ask her what he needs to know about the grounders. Considering she was associated with them. Bellamy handed him the key to the handcuffs as he tucked it away in his pocket "Thank you Bellamy that would be all" He nodded and walked out closing the door behind him. Pike walked over and sat on the edge of the shoulder on the couch with his hands resting on his thigh "Clarke Griffin, to what do I know this honor?" He considered being subtle first. But he didn't know exactly what she was doing there. She must've gotten caught considering Bellamy brought her in but why would she try to sneak back in. She wasn't a part of Arkadia now, or at least Pike considered she wasn't.

She couldn’t believe this. She was treated like a prisoner and expected nothing less right now. Maybe even worse if Lexas words rang true. She might not be flawless, but she knew strategy. And in war, which was exactly what this had turned out to be, strategy was more essential than anything else. Clarke tried to stand tall, a lesson learned the hard way. Any show of weakness would be used against her. How could it be any different here? They killed 300 people just like that and the shift in the atmosphere was evident for her. This was not the same place she once left. It was painfully obvious that it would never be again. Even if war could be avoided, Arkadia could never shake the blood that had been spilled under the mantle of what apparently was called intention for peace now.
“You know why I am here.” Clarke pointed out. Or actually he didn’t know her original intention. And she had no intention to mention it right now. She didn’t know what they could want for her. Bellamy said it was for her own good, but she didn’t trust that for a moment. In his eyes that might be true, but since the last time Clarke had seen Pike, a lot of things happened. She could not anticipate anything he did or said. She wasn’t so sure she was safe here. Under different circumstances she would have trusted Bellamys word. Under these she trusted Kane, her mother and Octavia a lot more. They might get this solved. She had to hope for this, because this situation did not seem good at all. “You killed an army sent to protect Arkadia.” jess

He simply chuckled to himself inside. Those words he's heard before. You killed an army of grounders who were sent to protect you. He's heard it before but nor did he stand to listen. Pike knew by the way she exclaimed the words she was no longer a part of the sky people. But somehow he knew she never was for a long time "That army was going to kill us. It was only a matter of time" By this time Pike crossed his arms and stood straight up, Now he generally had an idea on what she was doing here. Possibly trying to create peace among them, try to reason. But Pike hadn't had any intention of doing that. He didn't care what argument she had inside of her, he knew what he needed to do. He knew how he felt about the grounders, period. "They are the reason my people are dead. My friends, family. Innocent people" He emphasized on those last few words. Making sure she got that into her head "All grounders are the same. They will kill, betray, and they have no mercy. Which is why I did what I had to do to protect my people. Who were of course your people. Before you yourself betrayed them" He stood up straight, he was noticing how much she had changed. He had remembered how he use to be a teacher to her. But that was the passed, this.. is not the present. Everything has changed, for everyone.

It was one word that would have made Clarke pick up a knife within seconds, had she had the use of her hands in that moment. Instead she stood still, letting those words sink in as she felt the glaring difference between what Pike said and Bellamy. Everything Bellamy said had a reason. It was founded, based on what they had experiences, it was just true. Everything what Pike said was laced with prejudice against the Grounders and ultimately against her, because she had chosen to stay in Polis. “Tell me, Pike.” She now had to refuse to call him chancellor.
“How is it treason to stay in Polis to ensure a political arrangement between our Chancellor back then and our ally? HOW exactly is it treason to act in the interest of our chancellor?” She asked him. “I stayed in Polis, because I have power over Lexa. You might not believe in it, but I do. I was the best shot at keeping her in line. I did not even know of any change in leadership or that you rejected the coalition until earlier today. I cam here and yet you declare me a traitor? For what exactly?” She expected nothing but for him to find whatever reason suited him to blame her. She was prepared for it. Lexa had been right about him, it seemed and Bellamy wrong. If only he could see that. He might.

He was holding himself back. All he wanted to do was have his guards take her away and throw her into a cell. He has seen so much change in her. Which he wouldn't blame, everyone changed themselves when they came down on the ark. After they lost people, after he lost people. He looked at her as she spoke, he could see fire igniting in her eyes. There was only one thing Clarke got right as she spoke. She did have power over Lexa, but she still didn't understand "So you think that since you have power over Lexa she won't be sending another army here?" He was now standing with his arms crossed over his chest "All they have on their minds, all they know is violence. I can't risk anything for my people. People that have children here. We may have had an alliance back then, and if we still did now we would all be dead. Those grounders want of asks everything from us. And if you would really be helping your people. You wouldn't have left after what happened at Mount Weather" He wasn't exactly blaming her completely, he just doesn't trust her "How can you see to trust Lexa after she abandoned you at Mount Weather? Grounders can't be trusted. Which is why I do what I have to do"

“Now that you killed this army, you can be sure she does and she’ll be after your blood.” Clarke pointed out. She knew this for a fact. He was the enemy in this. Lexa, as long as they entertained her and the grounders, would have seen no need in killing them. With the right incentive she would have been inclined to not only tolerate them, but to value them, with the right motivation of curse. That was gone, killed by Pike over there. They were playing a game none of them fully understood and Pike apparently was so set on his belief that he thought killing unsuspecting warriors was a good idea. Now Arkadia had to live in fear of retaliation, that would come and this time Clarke could not stop it.
“You have no idea why I left and if you think you’re fit to be the judge of that, you’re more pathetic than I thought. You have no right to judge me for something you haven't been witness of. Bellamy does!” But nobody would stop him, it seemed. With nobody there to vouch for them, Lexa would send the armies of the entire alliance to kill everyone, every child. Funny how he spoke of children, but murdered some other children’s parents without even blinking it would seem. “You really don’t get it, do you? It’s because she can’t be trusted that I stayed!! I had something over her! She needed me. I could have tried to protect Arkadia by keeping her in line!”
