He's made nothing but mistakes when it came to the people he had sworn to protect. An other that he was wondering if he could even keep. Once he had taken oath--it had been everything. He was going to do it, no matter what titles came with it, or what titles that were kept from him. Now he wasn't so sure. He still believed he could do this better then most, but his mistakes were costly, and it was getting harder to drink them away at night.
Not that he tried very hard to drink them away. Marcus Kane, son of Vera Kane, was not going to fall into despair and drink. At least not tonight. No tonight he was meeting with @miller, a kid he had once arrested on the Ark and sent to Earth; now that kid was more a man and he was in need of his skills. It seemed no matter what, he was still trying to get these kids killed. Only thing time he was putting his life on the line with them.
Once he was in the empty storage room, Marcus waited for Miller to join him. He had been surprised to find Miller among the supporters, as he had thought that Bellamy and Miller were very close and that would sway Miller toward Pike. However this was about more then friendships. It was about peace, and how Pike was going to start a war that would bring with it an end to the Arkers. Marcus took a deep breath, and let it out slowly. He took full responsibility for this. Just as he knew he had to try to keep them alive.

Today was going to be an interesting day for Miller. For some reason or other Marcus Kane wanted to talk to him. He wasn't sure why. All he knew was that it was important to show up. Miller wasn't too fond of Marcus, but he tolerated him. It seemed that he wasn't as stupid as Miller had once thought. Sure he had gotten him arrested, but he had also seen how valuable he was, and gave him a guards position. He was grateful for that. Very grateful. His father had been so proud.
The events that had occurred lately had been crazy. Pike being elected Chancellor was about the dumbest things anyone could ever do. He had been here all of two minutes and yet he had wrangled up a bloodthirsty group of followers. People were crazy, Miller decided. He was also disappointed and angry to see that Bellamy joined the forces. Bellamy knew better than that. The fact that he willingly and quickly went onto Pike's side was not something Miller would have thought would happen. After Gena, he guessed his friend just wasn't in the right head space.
Making sure he had no tails he quickly slipped into the storage room Marcus had told him to meet. Softly closing the door he found Marcus Kane, the former Chancellor standing there, not looking too great. He walked over and stood in front of him, arms crossed over his chest. "You summoned me?"

Marcus didn't like the word summoned. While it was technology what he had done, coming from the boy it sounded defiant and mocking. Defiant was the trait Marcus wanted now, mocking wasn't. Marcus had the up most respect for David, Nathan's father, and had come to respect his loyalty and bravery. He had been in a position of power while the elections were happening, and it was why he knew who voted for who--Miller had not voted for Pike. Which was why he was trusting him now.
"Think more of it as recurring." Marcus said in a low voice, mimicking the younger man's stance without thinking about it. For Marcus it was just as he always stood. A stance of power, and dominance. "I know you didn't vote for Pike, but I need to know how you feel about the grounders. Because there are some here, who think we are heading toward a war, and there are others who want to prevent that from happening." Marcus knew this wouldn't be easy for the man, because he had a boy friend who was a strong supporter of Pike's, but he hoped that Miller would do the right thing and help make sure there was no more needless death.

The situation was tense. That much was obvious. The two of them weren't on the best terms, but right now it seemed they needed to be. Kane didn't seem to be in the best of moods, giving some sass back to Miller himself. But what interested Miller was the statement Kane had posed, or much rather a question within the statement. The grounders were an interesting topic amongst everyone. For Miller himself he had experienced things that people like Kane and Pike hadn't in regards to the grounders, so he had much more insight. Though he did almost understand where Pike was coming from. Though now he new much better. "The grounders, although they are savage, can be trusted. For the most part. We shouldn't fully trust them, but we certainly shouldn't go after them like that." He told the older man seriously. This topic also was personal for him, since Bryan was on Pike's side, and that made things rather difficult inside Miller's head. "Pike is doing this all wrong, Kane. I know it, you know it, and yet most people don't." Which was in fact true. It was why people voted for him, because they were afraid and didn't know what to think. He was going about this the wrong way and people were too dumb to realise. And that was very frustrating, and it meant people like Kane and Miller had to meet in private to discuss these matters; matters that should otherwise be discussed in public, and yet they couldn't. "What do you want me to do about it?" --------------------------Marcus Kane
