By no means does she dress girly, as she didn't grow up with any sort of feminine culture since she grew up hiding out most of her life.

Octavia is a normal teenage girl despite the situations she's been in. At first when she got to earth, she was a little boy crazy - part of being hidden away from males, aside from her brother her entire life - and currently, she's a little rebellious. Deep down, she knows that Bellamy thinks it's his job to still protect her, but above all things, all she wants is her freedom. Something she's never been able to have.

Born an illegal second child, Octavia was made to hide her entire life. She was kept a secret, and raised by her mother and brother who protected her well. She was caught when she went to a masquerade event with her brother who thought he'd be able to keep her hidden, and still be able to get to explore the ark. However, when she had no ID, Bellamy knew that she had to go hide otherwise she'd be found.. Unfortunately, Octavia didn't know her way back, and she was taken to prison. A year later, she was sent with other prisoners on the ark to Earth.
She never thought she'd see Bellamy again.. but sure enough, he was on the journey with her, after liberating a guard's uniform so he could join her on the trip to Earth... Or, that's at least what he had told her and the others. Octavia was the first to leave the shuttle, to feel the Earth's ground against her feet.
