THE HELL WE WANT
Things were finally settling for the Arkers. It had been a month since Mount Weather and while it would take far longer for everyone to emotionally heal from it, they were on the right path. The ceasefire allowed for the Arkadians to start to build a sustainable lifestyle. Plant crops, build homes . . . use what resources and supplies they could. Even from the place that was most dreaded to return to, yet one that aided them when it came to the supplies it entailed. Right now however, Bellamy was not dwelling on the past. Not when he was embracing a brighter present, and perhaps future if fate would continue to be kind to them in this way. Bellamy had discovered something on the Ark; a question that he had forever wondered. Who was his father. The man who was revealed to be this title was not one he had expected, for he was a man with great position and title.
And with that, had assured Bellamy that he would have a spot on the dropship to go down with his sister. Unfortunately, the timing had been off and desperate measures had caused Bellamy to shoot the Chancellor and secure his own position there. Bellamy had never had the opportunity to truly know his father. Not until recently, when time allowed them to. That, was one saving grace. The other was Octavia. And the third . . . the third was the woman at his side now. Gena Martin. He had met her on the Ark during his days as a janitor, but it wasn't until they were on the Ground, and they had spent more time together . . . that Bellamy had finally embraced his feelings for her. He cared about her, deeply. He wanted to be with her. He would never believe he was deserving of love, but he couldn't let her go. She was the light in this world of darkness, she always saw the good.
This was really, the first relationship he had ever been in with someone . . . and that was why he wanted to introduce her to his father. She was practically his family. He had opened up about his mother, and she was the first person -- apart from Octavia -- that he had told about his father. Marcus Kane, who was now Chancellor Marcus Kane. This truth would not stay contained for long. Which was why Bellamy wanted Gena and him to meet before it got out. They had arranged for the opportunity to do in the Chancellor's office, a rather spacious room. Holding Gena's hand in his, he knocked on the door, giving her a slight reassuring smile, and a gentle squeeze of his hand that held her own. Despite his stoic nature, he felt oddly nervous. And he had no idea why. He had a father. He had a sister. And he had a girlfriend. He was pretty damn lucky.
