Marcus walked around his desk, and leaned on the fount of it, while watching the door. His hands were down gripping the edge, and was the only sign that he might not be as confidant as the rest of him. It was time for his meeting with @callie, and he both felt guilty and excited for it. Recently they had begun this, and they both knew it could not continue--but they had both proven they could not control this.
It had started that night they worked together, alone in the conference room. The topic of their conversation had kept moving to their personal lives, no matter how professional they tried to be. They'd ate together. Talked until late together. It had moved to them standing close and talking. He could recall shifting closer to her. He wasn't sure he remembered who moved toward the other first but the kiss had filled something inside of him. Something he had not felt in so long. He knew he was like an island, and kept mostly to himself in the personal department; but with her in his arms he had saw his life as empty rather then dedicated to work.
Once had turned to twice, twice to thrice. Even now while he waited for her to come to his office for a meeting they needed to have on the project they were working on together, he knew little work would be done on it. He would make her make the first move. That was what he told himself every time she came to him. She was married! There had to be some love between her and her husband (and he hated knowing there was) and he hated knowing what he was doing to her. He was selfishly taking what she had to give, knowing it wasn't his right to be the one she gave it too.
She had to make the first move. He was facing the door as the knock came, and since she was expected she just walked in. She was as gorgeous today as she had been when he first met her. Only better, because now she was smarter, and more confidant. He wished he had made a move on her before she was married. He should have, so he could be her husband now. Regrets were something he could never express to her. Stepping away from the desk he walked toward her. She had to make the first move, he reminded himself; just as he had done every single time that they'd met like this. And just like most times, the moment he got within touching distance his hand lifted to frame her cheeks, and his mouth lowered to her's.
After a tender kiss, he pulled back a few inches to look at her. His hands looked large over her petite face. His thumb moved over her skin, as he just looked at her, waiting for her to give him a sign this was what she wanted, and he was not making her do anything she wasn't here for.

We've been conditioned to not make mistakes This was wrong. So wrong. But it felt right. Oh so right. These were the thoughts that constantly conflicted Callie's mind. Each day she told herself that when she saw him . . . she was going to end it. That they couldn't do this anymore. It was unethical! What if they got got? What if others found out and she tarnished Marcus' reputation? He was a man who would undoubtedly one day be Chancellor and she didn't want any dark cloud hanging over him . . . like an affair with a married woman.
She did not love her husband, she knew that. Because love was more akin to what she felt when she was with Marcus Kane. He treated her with respect, tenderness, affection . . . so many things that made her resent her husband all the more. But, she also knew it wasn't fair to him. She was being selfish, keeping him for herself. Or so she assumed. The thought of him being with another woman left her irrationally jealous and overly possessive of him.
Though he was not hers. He couldn't be. Yet the moments that they were together, all else faded from the world. It felt so effortless to be with him, and he managed to rob her of all thought and coherence. She didn't think of her husband or anyone else really. She just focused on how wonderful it felt to be with him. She was falling in love with the man, which was why . . . she needed to end it. Today. Tonight. It had to be done.
And yet, she had spent far too much time in front of the mirror putting herself together. She made up lies to her husband about how she would be working late tonight. She found her heart beating with excitement and filled with butterflies as if she was a giddy teenage girl. None of these things should be happening when she was planning on ending things with him. She should not care about her appearance, she should not have to make up excuses for her prolonged absence, and she should feel nervous and queasy. Leaving her apartment, she raised her chin and made her way to his office. Pausing outside of it she knocked on the door before entering.
The moment she saw him, the moment he came to her and kissed her . . . everything faltered. Well, everything that went along with the plan to end it. She didn't want to. How utterly selfish of her. But she couldn't think when she was around him.
While she was often a woman who did not let anything compromise her intellect . . . she had indeed found the one thing, or one person who held the power to do so. Her hands wrapped around his forearms as his hands were placed on either side of her cheek. She kept her eyes closed when he pulled away. She should feel dirty and disgusted with herself . . . but he only made her feel wonderful and . . . loved. Yes. She loved and felt loved when she was with him. Was that truyl so naive?
A smile formed on her lips, unable to stop it before it was too late. Opening her eyes she looked at him, before moving her hands to wrap around his neck, standing a little on her tip toes as she kissd him again. This was not going to end tonight. She wanted to hold onto it, onto him for a little while longer. Kissing him again, she slowly eased out of it, allowing her forehead to rest against his own as her arms continued to remain wrapped around his neck. "Good evening." He felt her cheeks slightly color with the uneloquent opening line. And just smiled with amusement and slight embarrasment at herself.

She kissed him back, and that was all he needed from her. It was the sign he needed to know she was here for this. There was no more thoughts of her marriage in his head, because tonight it was only Marcus and Callie. Tonight was a stolen night they would take. She broke the second kiss and put her forehead to his. His hands moved from her face to wrap around her back, and hold her. He just wanted to protect her from everything that would happen should they get caught.
"Good evening." She told him, and he felt a sharp almost stab like feeling in his chest at the color in her cheeks. He wanted to put that color there for all the wrong reason. "Only a good one?" He asked, letting her go to move to lock the door, and then walk back toward her. "Lets is if I can improve upon that." As his words ended, they became muffled as he took her lips once again, his hands moving to her hips to cup her backside, and lift her into his arms. Walking them toward he desk, he set her on it, giving them the same height. His kiss became heated, and stronger. No longer the tender greeting, but one of need as his fingers moved into her hair to cup her head and tilt her head tot he side so he could have access to her neck. He knew better then to mark her, but he wanted too. He wanted to make sure she thought of him later, when she had to walk the halls or go to work and hide it--the only reason he didn't was because she was married.

We've been conditioned to not make mistakes He teased her and she loved it. His mere presence was enough to allow her to forget all rational thought and reason . . . and teases were enough to fill her with an amusement and joy that she had never experienced. Not even in the early days of being with who was not her husband. Only by title though. Yet her mind was not on him. It was on the remarkable man before her. She watched him, biting her lower lip a little as he made his way to the door to lock it.
Her action wasn't out of nervousness though . . . it was out of anticipation of what she knew was coming. When he came closer to her, her arm's were open, eager to give herself entirely to him. She didn't have a chance to return the tease -- not that she was complaining, for soon enough, he sealed the distance between them. This time, the kiss was more heated, more fervent and Callie returned the emotion behind it. He effortlessly lifted her, as she wrapped her legs around him until she felt the solid surface of what was assumed to be his desk. The height difference was not as great and she had easier access to him.
His lips parted all too soon from her own, but trailed over her skin. She closed her eyes, a trembling breath escaping her mixed with a soft moan at his actions. She was all too willing to move her position to how he wanted it, showing no objection to however he adjusted them. "It's getting a little better," she finally teased in return, wondering how she was able to speak at all . . . let alone breath.
Her hand moved to the back of his head, her slender fingers tangling into his hair to encourage his actions. The overwhelming need to touch him became too much. Her free hand began to slip undernearth his shirt to caress his well toned chest. She had learned what true passion was while being with him and rather than feel shy or hesitant, he made her brave and bold in her advances. So much so that her hand wandered lower and lower, slipping under the front of his pants without fully touching him in this region.

"It's getting a little better," She teased him, and he paused what he was doing for only a second because he had to smile at her words, before he continued trying to make it better. Her hands were in his hair, and he wanted to feel her hands everyone on him. She had grown bolder over their encounters, and he had tried not to think about what that meant for how things were between her and her husband. He loved she was opening up for him. He had to fight harder not think in terms of what ifs--what if she left her husband for him. What if she was his. What if . . .
Her hand moved under his shirt, and he could feel the anticipation building from her boldness. As her hand moved down lower toward where he wanted to feel her touch, he could feel himself swelling almost in time with her hand dipping lower. When her hand paused, he felt his cock jerk softly, straining for attention. He exhaled a short breath against her skin, before moving to pull his jacket off. Followed by his shirt. Marcus was a man who prided himself on being neat, clean and tidy at all time--but right now he didn't give a damn where the clothes went. His hands went to her own clothes, pulling her jacket off, regretting that it made her stop touching him, before pulling her shirt over her head. He paused then, his eyes looking deeply into her's. He didn't want her caught up int he moment and regretting this later. Which was why he wanted her to look at him and know who was with her the whole time. After the second of pausing, he claimed her mouth once again, tasting and exploring her, while his hands moved over her oh so soft skin.

We've been conditioned to not make mistakes Callie's hand was forced to part from his body but for a very good reason. He began to remove his jacket and shirt, before doing the same with her clothing. She lifted her arms to make it easier. Once she would have felt shy and a bit embarrassed to be in such a state of undress before him. But they were well past that now. Far beyond that.
She felt so much better when she was with him. She trusted him; with her mind, soul, body . . . and heart. The last one was such a dangerous one, but it had happened. And she couldn't stop it, clearly. For even as determined as she tended to be in most aspects of her life, she was too weak to fight what existed between them. She returned the intent gaze, looking at him, seeing him, the real him.
Forgetting all else existed in the world except for the wonderful -- and extremely attactive -- man before her. It was far easier to notice the latter in his unclad state. Her eyes moved over his body for a moment before returning his gaze, only to be greeted with another kiss. The touch of his lips moving skillfully against hers, as well as his hands leaving a trail of burning sensation on her skin wherever he touched.
She wrapped her arms around his neck to pull him closer to her still, before her hands slowly trailed down to his pants, already starting to unfasten them. She broken the kiss for a moment as her head titled downward to look at hm as she freed him from the constraints that clothing created. She proceeded to pull his pants down before aligning her head with his again to capture his lips, slightly nipping his bottom one in a teasing manner.

She moved her hands down to begin unfastening his pants, and Marcus felt himself suck in a breath while the anticipation of her touch heightened. Callie had grown bold in their time together, and he was proud to have been able to see the change in her. She had gone from shy and unsure, to bold--taking what she wanted. He tried not to think about what this said about her relationship with her husband--and he tried even more to never think of the man. Guilt for what he was doing to her and to her husband would make him stop, and Marcus had grow to need her enough that he didn't want to stop. Consequences be damned.
As she lowered his pants, and stood back up, he reached for her as she for him. Marcus took her lips again, his kiss growing more demanding, as their actions grew more urgent. His hands on her hips easily spanned the width of her. She had always been a small woman, but that in no way took away from her preasesnse. His hand moved up over the curve of her hip, as he cupped her breast in his hand. She filled his hand perfectly, and he wanted to taste her skin. One day soon, maybe even in a bed. With a groan, he pulled her closer to him, while his other hand moved down lower to maneuver between them and touch her to see if she was as ready as he was.

We've been conditioned to not make mistakes Callie left out a quiet gasp when she felt him cup her breast, the bundle of nerves already responding with the need of him and pleasure of his touch. As if that wasn't enough, his hand moved to between her legs, already dampened with the urgency of him and his touch. She softly moaned, leaned toward him with her forehead against his. Sex had been something she'd grown to loathe with her husband.
It had become somewhat of a clinical affair. Passionless. Robotic even. But with Kane . . . it was truly making love. And the amount she hated it with her husband, was as much as she loved it with Marcus. Perhaps more even. For he had reignited passion, and lust, and a deeper emotional connection that she could have ever even imagined.
That was often what consumed her in such moments. Intoxicated by him, numbed to all logic and rationality that dictated why they couldn't do this. "I need you," she practically moaned. Needing more than just a gentle tease. Her lips pressed against his once more, her hand skimming through his, gripping the back of his head with her slender fingers. "Please," she added, speaking against his lips, resorting to practically beg him.

salvation comes at a price
Marcus sucked in a deep breath when he felt how wet she was, and he spent a moment just toying with her, as he just savored the stolen moment alone with the woman that he was coming to be unable to live without. She gave a plea, telling him she needed him, and Marcus Kane was never one to leave a woman begging; so he found himself grinning. The feel of her hands in his hair, knowing that he didn't look so perfectly in place any longer, made him wish he could see them together. Savor this longer beyond their stolen moments.
Moving his hands from her, he took himself and adjusted so he could thrust up into her, before pulling her close so he could press deep. Exhaling at the feeling, Marcus found himself wishing this was again, something he could have. He should have married her when he had the chance, and he wouldn't be the one who went home to a cold and empty bed. Groaning, he began to move, at first just little pumps of his hips, and building up to a steady but strong rhythm of pulling out and thrusting deep. "Callie," he groaned her name, and moved his hand from her hip to support her back.
