.:Name:. Lexa. .:Nick Name:. Commander. (not so much a nickname as a common-title) .:Affiliation:. The Grounders. .:Age:. Unknown. (though suspected to be between 20-22)
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. The young woman's almond-shaped green eyes are often the first of her features to be taken note of. The black tribal paint spread about her eyes, and down her cheeks; is symbolic of her status as a Trikru warrior. Her dark brown hair has intermixed braids that seek to further her rather feral appearance. A section of her hair is often drawn back and tied up, so as to keep her bangs from falling into her face during battle. Red and blond highlights color various strands of her hair as a result of frequent exposure to the sun.
Her face is fairly lean, drawing attention to her fuller, pale, lips. Her nose is set at a slant while her cheekbones are fairly high. Her appearance is near striking in that sense that it wreaks of elegance. Her cold eyes and lack of emotion cater to the notion that she's got an unpredictable-nature. Her clear complexion and lack of scars betrays her battle experience. However, her lean form and toned muscle do not. Her skin is sun-kissed, and on occasion develops a bronze tint. Based on physical traits alone, the girl is a difficult individual to make heads or tails of.
Never found without her battle armor, Lexa is always ready for a fight. Her leather wear is light, and breathable, while still providing her with a strong defense. Her left shoulder-pad is fashioned from metal platelets that have been overlapped. Her long red sash-while normally worn on scouting ventures-is one of the many pieces that symbolize her rank, and importance, to her people. Having fashioned her own defensive chain mail, fit with buckles at the fore front of her leather garb, the Commander is undoubtedly well-outfitted.
Never without a dagger tucked away at her side, Lexa has more weapons on her person that one can truthfully conceive. Her heavy beater boots have a dagger set down the leg, and there so happens to be another hidden dagger down the back of her pants. The hilt of her sword is at her back, secured to her person by a leather strap that is set across her chest. Her blade is well taken care of, and sharpened to a point. The sword is lightweight, and easily accessible; her go-to weapon in a pinch. One does not generally want to cross the weapon-wielding Commander, even on a good day.
.:Height:. 5'5". .:Portrayed by:. Alycia Debnam-Carey

.:Personality:. There are many sides to Lexa; most of which have yet to be seen, let alone understood. As an intricate and complex individual, Lexa's emotions have always been-since Costia's death-heavily guarded. It is unknown as to whether or not the Commander may have been a softer, or more likable, individual, prior to the loss of her love. All that is known, at present, is that the Commander is ruthless, and a fearsome sight to behold. She will readily slay her foes, and is unlikely to ever form an alliance that does not directly benefit her and her people.
The young Commander is not the sort that will place her dependence or trust in any one person. The alliances she's formed can just as easily be dropped, on a dime, depending on current relations. As much as she is in favor of the alliance of the varying Clans, she is just as stiff, and unyielding, in her conclaves with them. She knows what she wants, as well as how far she's willing to go to get her way. She relies on no one, save herself. After the betrayal of one of her guardsmen, the warrior has kept an even sharper, eagle-eye, on the company she keeps.
As often as peace seems to be the objection all across the board, Lexa has been known to take a logical approach to the majority of her dealings with others. She has been, many times before, deemed a 'visionary' by her people; which would most certainly be an appropriate way of describing her. She sees the way of things from a neutral-stance, and a much-needed lack of bias. Her trust, when given among the various alliances, is not so much a personal-trust as it is a: "I'm expecting that you can care for your people, and uphold your end of the deal, and be peaceable." Even so, she watches all so that she may assure there is good, as opposed to evil, being enacted. She wants the best possible life for her people, which, given all that has happened as of late, is more than understandable. Their safety rests with her, and that is not a responsibility she takes lightly.
.:Special Skills:. Sword-fighting, self defense, formulating attack-plans, diplomacy, and manipulation.

.:Birthplace:. The Woods Clan .:Family:. n/a .:Occupation:. Commander of the 12 Clans
.:History:. Not much is known about Lexa's life prior to the Grounders having encountered the Sky-People. The girl, from a young age, was taught and shown to be a fine warrior. She was taught the basics of survival, and providing for her clan. At the age of sixteen Lexa was made the Commander of the 12 Clans after forming a Coalition between them. Having served as Anya's Second, the woman's honorable death meant a great deal to her.
Having always known that a warrior is responsible for themselves in battle while defending their clan, this simple philosophy that has been ingrained in her is what puzzles her so in regards to Clarke. Ordinarily, anyone else would have left her for dead rather than risking themselves to save her. And so, when Clarke pulled her away from the great beast that the pair of them struggled to escape from, Lexa allowed some of her human emotion to slip through her defensive walls. Clarke, to her, has always been different, caring, and good. She can see that in her, and, as much as she pushes her to change, it's what she likes about her.
The kiss that Lexa instigated between herself and Clarke, was a clear moment of emotion on her part. She couldn't hold back any longer from what she wanted; and Lexa always goes after what she wants. Even as Clarke broke off their moment of passion, and explained to her why she couldn't, Lexa chose to be understanding. She understood what it was to love, and have it ripped from you-as if your heart was physically being torn from your chest.
There is much of Lexa's life that is shrouded in mystery. She spoke very briefly to Clarke of the Sky-People, of her relationship with Costia. The Ice Nation kidnapped Costia, and eventually killed her after attempting to learn Lexa's secrets. Clarke was the first person that she ever, even if for the briefest moments, allowed in. Her interest in Clarke is plain, though the girl has made it clear that her philosophy of "love is weakness" will always keep her from allowing herself to feel. Lexa puts her clan first, always. Despite her time shared fighting alongside Clarke, come her time to make the ultimate decision, the Grounder-Commander betrayed her, and left her and her people to fend for themselves.
