whatever THE HELL WE WANT Overall, the day had been successful. Not only because they found the kid who had been speared, but also because they found food. And Bellamy was of course using that to his full advantage. He was using it as further manipulation. The deal was: to get a stick of meat, you ahd to remove the bracelet. With others like Wells, they had forcefully removed it. Hell, Bellamy was one chop away from cutting the guy's wrist off -- a threat he made to Murphy when they had set off after blondie and her boys. But it didn't need to come to that. His bracelet was off and at this rate, so would everyone else's be. They had been throwing them into the fire, a symbol of their freedom. Of course for Bellamy it was far more complex than that.
It didn't so much have to do with freedom, than it did with him not wanting the Ark to join them. If the others came down, Bellamy would undoubtedly get executed for his crime. They couldn't float him on the ground, but that didn't mean they wouldn't find a way to kill him. Murdering the chancellor wasn't exactly a crime that someone was exempt from. But so long as it remained quiet, then he could keep playing the crowd. Inspiring them. Leading them. Whatever the hell was want. Chaos. All of these things . . . and everything else.
It was working, and that was all that mattered. Bellamy noticed the Chancellor's son in the not so far distance, a smirk playing on the older Blake sibling's features. He wasn't exactly pleased that Wells had stolen his gun and wasted the bullets. "Considering you emptied an entire round of my gun to kill one panther, you damn well better learn how to throw an ax." He was mocking him, though his words weren't without truth. He had already started teaching a few others like John, Miller, Murphy, and Atom how to throw a bladed weapon. They were all going to need to learn. Though from what Bellamy had seen of Wells in his fight with Murphy, the Chancellor's son had some skill in hand to hand combat. Something they had in common . . . in addition to the fact that they had both come down here for someone they loved. A fact that Bellamy had pointed out to Wells upon noticing the way he stared at the princess.

Wells sat alone away from the crowd as he watched them cheer. They were throwing their bracelets into the fire like it was liberating them. Following Bellamy’s lead like sheep following a shepherd. He couldn’t believe how stupid they were being. Those bracelets were the only way the ark could learn Earth was survivable. The only way all those people would live, and they were just tossing them away like it was nothing. But Wells knew the truth. He saw right through Bellamy and his big “inspirational” act and found it difficult to understand why nobody else did. It was so painfully obvious but nobody was about to listen to the chancellor’s son. Not even Clarke would give him the time of day.
Speak of the devil, he thought and resisted the urge to roll his eyes as Bellamy approached and spoke about the panther he shot. “Well I seem to remember saving your life before it tore your face off,” Wells retorted. He wasn’t a huge fan of guns but he knew the basics of how to use one at least. And he most definitely wasn’t a huge fan of Bellamy. “I don’t need anything from you Bellamy.” He wasn’t about to accept the help of the man who held him at gun point to take off his bracelet. “And we wouldn’t need to know how to use axes if our people from the ark were here.” They weren’t going to survive without them and Wells didn’t appreciate Bellamy gambling with their lives because of some secret ulterior motive.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Saving his life. Hell no. Bellamy didn't want Wells thinking he owed him anything. He didn't. Not a damn thing. "If you hadn't been an idiot and stolen my gun, I would have killed that thing in one shot." But Wells had to make a big spectacle of it. Bellamy wasn't grateful toward the man. He had wasted the only long range weapon they had . . . now that they knew they were dealing with others who threw spears and who knows what else. "But instead you had to go and play hero to show off for your wannabe girlfriend." Meaning Clarke of course. Bellamy had practically taunted the man when they were walking and the princess and spacewalker were in step together.
Really, Bellamy didn't give a damn about their situation . . . it was just amusing to provoke someone else because of it. He then stated that he didn't need anything from him, and at that, Bellamy smirked. "Don't think you're in any position to say that. You're a little short of friends here." And by a little, he meant a lot. He'd already made an enemy of Murphy and his gang -- which Bellamy was successfully controlling for the time being. Even Clarke didn't seem to want anything to do with him. Now, Bellamy didn't exactly want the guy dead. But that didn't mean he was going to try and be his best bud either. He was just pointing out a fact, that if Wells didn't play smart . . . he wasn't going to last long down here.
"Even if they did know and we kept the bracelets on, it's not like they're coming down tomorrow." No. It would be a while before the Ark could arrange that kind of mission. "They didn't send us down with anything. No way to protect or defend ourselves." No med kit. No food. Nothing. "Face it junior. We're here on our own. The sooner you realize that the better." Bellamy was calling the shots here. No one wanted to hear from the Chancellor's son or Princess. Whatever power couple or duo they were on the Ark . . . it was not translating down here on Earth. "Otherwise, you're gonna get yourself killed."

Bellamy was getting on his nerves. Wells prided himself on being a pretty mellow person, and not easily provoked. But Bellamy seemed to be trying to. He obviously didn’t seem to want to appreciate the fact that Wells had saved his life. Whether he liked it or not that was a fact. There was no way he would have got the gun out in time to kill the panther, and even if he had, the beast would have taken a chunk out of him first. That was how Wells saw it, but Bellamy wasn’t going to agree with him any time soon. So why waste his breath? "But instead you had to go and play hero to show off for your wannabe girlfriend." That was a low blow, but not surprising coming from him. “I’m not going to argue with you Bellamy.” Bellamy was trying to get a rise out of him, but Wells would be damned if he gave him the satisfaction. “You wanna see it that way, fine.”
“You're a little short of friends here." Wells resisted the urge to roll his eyes and smiled. “Is that what you’re supposed to be?” He could almost laugh at the thought. “I’ll be fine on my own.” He didn’t need anyone’s protection. If they all hated him, he was fine with that. Wells was here for one reason and one reason only, and that was to protect Clarke. “Don’t worry about me,” he added with a very slight smirk, knowing that’s obviously not what he wanted to get across. If Wells thought about it, Bellamy probably had a point. Being surrounded by criminals without any kind of supervision could be dangerous, and having people on his side would definitely help. But he was stubborn, at least in that moment, because there was no way in hell he would admit to Bellamy being right.
Wells sighed and listened to Bellamy talk about how they were left here alone, to fend for themselves. He hadn’t given himself a chance to really think about the full extent of their predicament. Especially with his thoughts so consumed with Clarke and how best to keep her safe. "Otherwise, you're gonna get yourself killed." He was a good talker, Wells would give him that. “That’s why we should be concentrating our efforts on getting to Mount Weather.” It was the only way they were going to survive. “Not this ‘whatever the hell we want’ crap.” Wells could see right through that rouse. “Because that’s exactly what it is, and sooner or later everyone else is going to see that too.” Bellamy was obviously hiding something.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT If that's the way he wanted to see it. Damn right it was. Their bullets were now wasted, and the one weapon that could help in dire emergencies . . . was gone -- thanks to all the ammo wasted on a single animal. But Bellamy had said that he needed to say, and it didn't appear as if Wells was going to change his mind about it. Which hardly surprised the older male. "No," he answered bluntly and truthfully when Wells questioned if he was supposed to be a friend. "But you're not going to be fine on your own. People here blame you for what your father did. They can't take out the Chancellor; might as well take out his son." Murphy had already publicly proclaimed killing him.
Bellamy was able to keep him in line for the time being . . . but it was only a matter of time. If it wasn't Murphy, then surely someone else. Despite how Bellamy now portrayed himself and carried himself among the others, he was not a murderer. And deep down, even he knew that the kid didn't deserve to be punished for his father's actions. His now deceased father. A small fact that Bellamy wasn't exactly going to offer Jaha Junior. He then spoke of going to Mount Weather, and not doing this whatever the hell we want bit .Mentioning that everyone was going to see through him and realize that.
Bellamy kept the unwavering smirk on his face, seemingly unaffected by his words. He had already gotten Wells metal bracelet off. And most others had gotten rid of theirs too. But even he knew that there could be other methods of contacting the Ark . . . and that was precisely what Bellamy needed to prevent from happening. "Go ahead, then," he urged, or well mocked. "Why don't you and your princess go rally up the crowd. Go tell them that Mount Weather is essential to our survival." Bellamy was mocking him because the last time they had tried . . . well, it hadn't exactly been responded to with support. "Worked out great the last time." Sarcasm. They barley had a crew to go with them and one of them got speared. "

He rolled his eyes at Bellamy’s statement about taking out the chancellor’s son. Seemingly unaffected but deep down he was concerned about that little fact. Threats had already been made and who knew how long it was until someone got the bright idea and was ruthless enough to actually go through with it. His concern wasn’t so much for himself although he definitely didn’t want to die, but for Clarke. Without him, who would protect her and keep her alive and safe? None of them could be trusted with the task, not Finn and least of all Bellamy. He had to survive, for her. “That’s some really interesting insight there Bellamy,” he said with sarcasm, not something he was very accustomed too. “But I can handle myself. And besides playing the hero really doesn’t suit you.” Another jab at the older man, again knowing that’s not what he wanted to get across. It would be slightly amusing if they weren’t discussing how a one of the criminals would eventually attempt to kill him.
He just needed to stick around long enough for everyone on the ark to come down since that was inevitable. The state of the ark was a secret he wasn’t exactly going to share with the others. It was the same secret that had ruined his relationship with Clarke. He listened to Bellamy speak about, or well mock his suggestion. Keeping his jaw visibly clenched as he tried to suppress the anger brewing within. But was ultimately unsuccessful. “You got any better ideas,” he said finally standing up abruptly, his voice raised slightly. “Sure, maybe we could survive for a month, hell even two if we’re lucky. But when winter sets in we’ll freeze to death, if whoever shot a spear through Jasper doesn’t kill us first.” It was infuriating that nobody could see what he saw. “But I bet you never thought about that, huh. This whole act has gone too far,” his voice lowered again, trying to appeal to Bellamy’s humanity if it even existed. Why? He wasn't sure yet. “You’re going to get them all killed.” And for what? Mount Weather was their only shot at survival.
