Breathing was hard recently, ever since Unity Day. It had gotten cold, Aurora could see her own breath, as it turned into white fog before her eyes due to the cold. She didn’t have a lot in her hiding space, but at least she had pillows and blankets enough to protect her from the cold as apparently Marcus might have anticipated something like that. Aurora cocooned herself in, a pillow on her very pregnant belly hopefully keeping the place safe, where their newest family member grew in secret. Aurora couldn’t tell how much time passed since she felt shockwaves after unity day, since the last time Marcus came to see her, she had no idea what happened, but given how heating had failed for a while and how hard it was to draw a deep lungful of air, she could tell something bad was about to happen or already happened. The extent was unknown to her, but she knew she suffered from lack of oxygen. She knew it when she saw people, who weren’t on the ship anymore, Octavia, Bellamy, but not Marcus. Marcus should be here.
Despite feeling that time was running out, Auroras main focus remained on the unborn. It gave her something to fight for, to hold onto life for. So she rationed what food and water she had, she tried to hold on as much as she could, for the child, her third child, despite the rules. Everything would be so different on Earth, not that she honestly expected to ever see it. She was trapped in here, only still alive because of Marcus. Marcus. Where was he? Had he been hurt? Aurora worried. More than once she heaved herself up, considering to go search for him, giving up her hiding place, but then she couldn’t, he could handle himself, but the unborn couldn’t. Only when the entrance opened, did she move again after what felt like days. She looked up, finding a person stand there, light filtering through. “Marcus?” She asked softly, hoping for her love, fearing for the worst.
