❅AI GONPLEI❅ AI SWIS It did not take long for Isa to reach the outskirts of the Tree People's settlement and she continued deeper into the forest. It made her restless to stay around the people she once fought, surrounded by those she trusted as much as they trusted her. So she needed these breaks to stretch her legs, breathe fresh air, and perhaps bag herself some lunch. Heck, she might even get lucky and run into a real fight.
Maybe she could relax a little and let some of her built up tension out. If only she could shake the feeling that someone was tailing her. Not that she could blame them, if they were. If situations were reversed she would be doing the same.
She stopped and closed her eyes to listen to the woods around her. Nostalgia for the familiar, gentle nosies of ice and nose filled her for a moment but she quick cast them aside as she listened for any tell to reveal if she was truly being followed. Maybe it was just paranoia.

Alekay had been tasked with going to meet one of the members of the Ice Nation who would be joining them. He wasn't opposed to this task, so he went with good spirits. The two groups had their share share of tensions, set to rest with a truce and alliance. But that didn't mean that everyone was wonderful and carefree between the groups. This was where Alekay came in. He was to escort the woman to their camp and then keep a close eye on her. See if she was here as a spy or as a represenatative of sorts. After all, she wasn't the first member of Azgeda to be among them. With taht mission, he armed himself with a couple blades, and took along a few others. Being one of Indra's seconds, he spoke to her as she assigned the others that would join him. He was the only second who would be going so he held the authority over the small handful of people.
They walked without stopping until they reached the outskirts of their village, where he immediately saw her. It was easy to tell she was an Outsider. Her garb, her over all appearance. And the unfamiliarity he could practically feel from her as well as see with his own two eyes. "I am Alekay of the Trikru, here to escort you to our village." He didn't know her name. He'd only been informed that a member of Azgeda was coming, but by introducing himself, he assumed that would prompt her own introduction. After all, he had no idea how long she intended to stay with them. That was a conversation better had with either Indra or their Commander.

❅AI GONPLEI❅ Isa raised an eyebrow at the small handful of people that came out of the trees. The Trikru. This meant she was finally within their territory and she allowed the tension to leak out of her just a little bit. Their peace may be a bit strained, but they were allies nonetheless and if the Trikru were to break that peace and attack her they likely would have done so without revealing themselves.
"Isa of Azgeda." She answered shortly as her pale eyes trailed up and down his form, taking her measure of him before moving on to quickly survey the less important Trikru that were with him. Some she might have seen in passing before but none that she remembered from her last few trips into the area.
"I'm surprised my visit warranted such an escort party. I'm flattered." Her voice was as flat as her expression as she wondered just how long she would be stuck with Alekay and his followers. While she could hardly blame the Trikru for shadowing her, especially since she had been one of the warriors fighting against them before peace was declared, it was still annoying. Isa was not exactly a social butterfly.

So Isa was her name. Something Alekay would remeber. She then added on that she was surprised her visit brought forth so many -- adding on her flattery over it. "Good. Better you keep think it flattering rather than accept the actual reason there are so many of us." Which was the wariness that both groups felt toward one another. Alekay had been told that sometimes he speaks too much, or without thought . . . but he didn't really care. He was just saying what everyone already knew. Besides, his tone was a bit light, almost teasing over the subject though it was not without truth. His expression was less serious than a few of the others as he continued to watch the newcomer.
"Come then Isa of Azgeda. The Commander wishes to meet you promptly." And they had a bit of a walk ahead, but it was nothing compared to the amount of traveling their clans tended to do. The Trikru were accustomed to the heavily wooded land compared to the other terrain such as sand or ice. It just depended on what a person was used to. He motioned for her to commence walking as a few of the others with him started to lead the way. Alekay stayed near her, walking alongside her. His job was to watch her and that was what he intended to do, though know it was just more of casual company.

❅AI GONPLEI❅ "Oh yes, better than thinking my allies don't trust me as far as they could throw me." She responded in the same dead tone as before. Isa did not expect the Trikru to trust her, nor did she desire their trust. As long as they kept the sharp, poisoned end of their weapons to themselves she was fine with the chilly peace between herself and the others.
This one, however, was somewhat interesting. She had met number of Trikru over the years. Most had played as if they were simply being diplomatic in having guards meet her and her people at the edge of the territory. It was rare to see someone as frank as this man, let alone holding a measure of playfulness. It was a bit strange.
"You are not like my usual escorts." She eyed him thoughtfully, taking her measure of the male. He was handsome and she found the lack of seriousness towards her somewhat intriguing, but she mentally shrugged it of. He was Trikru and it was not her place to play friendly with their people. She was a warrior, not a diplomat. "It almost makes me wonder why they sent you."
"What joy," She commented as she began to walk alongside him. The fact that the Commander wished to meet with her was hardly a desire of hers, but she would bear with it. It was not like she had much choice in the matter.

Alekay wouldn't said anything about distrust. It may be implied, and it was certainly felt between the two groups . . . but it wouldn't be said. Despite Alekay's tendancy to run his mouth, he wouldn't be so careless about speaking ignorantly or thoughtlessly, especially about an already sensitive truce. "Now did I say that?" He asked more teasingly than anything else. "I'll leave the reasons up to your creative imagination." Sarcasm, but said in good humor rather than rude bluntness. She pointed out that he was not like her usual escorts. "I'll take that as a compliment," he said with a bit of a smirk on his face, giving himself that flattery though it was in good humor. If she was expecting a more serious member of the Trikru . . . well, she would be undoubtedly disappointed with Alekay's presence.
"They sent me because I am Indra's second." Indra was one of the strongest Chief's, most likely well known. "And the other seconds were all busy." It was a joke, and he said it as such. He wasn't the default to be sent here, but it was amusing to humor the idea. "What kind of escort were you expecting?" He asked, genuine curiosity in his voice mixed with other tones consistent with how he'd spoke to her thus far. It was her latter comment that caused him pause, though he did not show sign of offence. It sounded like sarcasm, and their Commander would not put up with it. But instead of offering threat or warning, he decided to take another direction. "Now what would you say or do if that was said about your Queen?" He questioned. If someone was sent as an ambassador to the Azgeda, and they displayed that attitude toward Nia. They were loyal to their leaders, and that included not really tolerating any ill speak toward him . . . or bad tones and attitude.

❅AI GONPLEI❅ The teasing was new. The usual escorts that met her at the border were typically stoic. Most barely bothered to speak with her. A small few, who recognised her from old battles when they were enemies, threatened her. They were taken off the task rather quickly.
Alekay was... almost amusing. He smirked and teased in a manner that seemed rather natural to him rather than forced. Then again, she was not exactly a people person so her assessment of him may be wrong. At any rate he seemed more tolerable company then most of her escorts, but she was not about to tell him that. The last thing she needed was to have him thinking she might like him.
"Indra's second? What an honour." Although her tone was flat there was no lie in her words. She knew who Indra was. While Isa was not fond of the woman, she did respect Indra. She was a strong and capable woman, after all.
"More often than not the guard doesn't say shit to me." She replied in regards to his question. Her pale eyes darted towards him, lingering for a second longer than neccessary before turning back towards the path in front of them. "You're the friendliest by far."
"I would rather hear honestly from my allies then false pleasantries." Isa answered honestly. She was no diplomat and saw no point in crafting her words or tweaking her tone to sound pleasant. "I just don't play games. We're allies. That doesn't mean I'm required to make friends. I treat you Trikru no differently than I do my own people. In case you haven't connected the dots - I'm not a people person."
