whatever THE HELL WE WANT The time for another hunting trip was upon them, and Bellamy along with a few others had armed themselves and ventured out into the dangerous woods to catch what they could. They had set a time duration, everyone expected to return to camp after the set time limit, with or without any food. They couldn't risk staying out past sundown. They all set out in different directions, each group containing at least two people. Bellamy was currently paired with only one other; a delinquent by the name of Annika.
He hadn't spoke to her a great deal in the past, but it seemed now would be that opportunity. Though Bellamy wasn't exactly engaging in a lot of small talk, he didn't want to scare off potential prey. So far however, they weren't having much luck. No sooner did the thought enter his mind, did fortune come upon them. A deer in the not so far distance was drinking from the river. Bellamy held his hand up, a non verbal signal for Annika to stop moving. He then raised his gun, aiming it toward the animal. His finger was on the trigger, waiting for the perfect moment to fire and catch them some food.

Long Live The Reckless And the Brave I don't think i want to be saved TAG: Bellamy Blake. WORDS: too lazy to count lol. NOTES: NOTES HERE They needed food. Without it, they would die. Some of the others whom had come from the Ark with them couldn't hunt. Some could. That just made everyone's life easier seeing as each person had a skill set. Hers just so happened to fall under hunting and fighting. However, she was paired with Bellamy. She hadn't talked to the leader much. Maybe a few words here and there, but nothing huge and grand and special. They each had their jobs, however alike they may be. They were one of the groups to go in a direction the others hadn't been...well duh. Of course they had. Nobody could be hunting in the same place now could they?
When they had gone a ways out, she saw a deer in the distance. It seemed that Bellamy had seen it too because he had held up his hand. Well, that deary old hand of his had gone up a second or two to late. With a fatal crunch, her booted foot landed on a stick, causing a loud crack to resonate throughout the woods to the nearby woods. When she looked up from her foot to his gun and then to the deer, she muttered shit to herself. That was just lovely. Well, it seemed that dinner would not be coming home with them anytime soon. That is, unless they found something else in the meantime.
Lowering the gun, she glared at the stick she had stepped on and then looked over to Bellamy. "Sorry. I didn't mean for it to happen." She said, a sigh and a shrug coming out with it. If anything, they could probably find another thing to hunt. These woods were crawling with them,

whatever THE HELL WE WANT He was a second away from pulling the trigger when a snapping of a stick caused the deer to quickly scatter off, and thus, forcing Bellamy to lose the shot. He closed his eyes for a moment, suppressing any agitation he felt over losing their meal. He had hoped to bring this deer back and be guaranteed a meal for the others . . . but it seemed that would not be happening. There was a possibility of them returning empty handed, should it be in the allotted time. Opening his eyes once more, Bellamy lowered his gun and put the strap back over his shoulder.
"You don't hunt a lot, do you." He both asked and stated, his words lacking rudeness, though he supposed the bluntness of it may suggest otherwise. It wasn't a huge surprise. Hunting was a skill that had needed to be learned when they arrived down here. For they had been residing on the Ark, and they sure as hell didn't have to shoot their supper there. "Just watch where you step next time," he added on, his words lacking emotion and said as a piece of advice rather than an insult. He had moved beyond the days of being too much of an ass. His people were now his top priority, as was there safety. No matter what he felt toward them, whatever annoyance he experienced . . . they were his people.

Long Live The Reckless And the Brave I don't think i want to be saved TAG: Bellamy Blake. WORDS: too lazy to count lol. NOTES: NOTES HERE She watched him close his eyes. No doubt either trying to figure out what was next or to control himself. They needed food but she had kinda made a misstep. One that was quite literally under that term. She moved to sit on a log that was about six feet to her left. It was covered in soft, green moss. When she sat on it, however, it was damp. She jumped back up and looked at it with a glare. That was lovely. Now her only pair of pants were wet. Just her luck right? She ruined a hunt and now her pants were wet.
When he asked if she hunted much she shrugged. I lived in space most of my life. Haven't gotten out much. She said, smiling slightly. She had no clue how he would react to that comment. She wasn't trying to be funny or anything. She was speaking the truth. They both had been on the Ark their whole lives. Perhaps they had gotten in for close to the same reason (or maybe not at all near the same), but they did have that in common. She just knew that most of the time she could hunt. And that she could run when she wanted to. When he told her to watch her step, she just nodded. She decided that even with the seat being wet, she could deal with a soggy bottom. It's better than being dead right? So what do we do now? She asked, fighting the urge to say boss at the end.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT He noticed her sit and then abruptly shoot right back up. His eyes lowered to her rear, seeing that it was wet and that was all he needed to see to ensure that she wasn't hurt. That the reason she hadn't jumped up as because she was injured. She then spoke of how she had lived in space most of her life . . . that wasn't a surprise. He couldn't tell if she was being sarcastic or not, but responded either way. "Haven't we all," he said, his tone void of any rudeness, but rather, just saying a basic statement. "If you need tips on hunting, then I can always teach you," he offered.
It wasn't so much out of the kindness of his heart, than it was for basic necessity. He tended to train the others in combat and hunting where he could. They were imperative skills in order to survive. Some displayed more strength in one area than others, but there was a good balance. And Bellamy wanted to make sure it remained that way. "You joined the hunting party for a reason. I take it you have an interest in it?" He asked, only partly rhetorical in his inquiry and the rest was based on assumption going on the evidence. She asked what they were to do now, and he looked at the space that the deer had once occupied. "We'll follow the deer's trail. With any luck, it eventually will stop again. And if not, then hopefully we'll come across something else on the way." With that, he began to follow the deer tracks, briefly glancing at her to make sure she was nearby and following.

Long Live The Reckless And the Brave I don't think i want to be saved TAG: Bellamy Blake. WORDS: too lazy to count lol. NOTES: NOTES HERE His reaction to her comment was...interesting to say the least. There was no retort or taking it as being sarcastic. That was always on the plus side of things. She'd twist her neck slightly to the left to pop it, trying to get a cramp out. With a considerable crack for a bone, she would then listen to his next words. Teach her or something? Well, at this point all she's found was a squirrel, but it hadn't stopped her from trying. She wanted to be good enough to be one of the reasons why they were all alive. If it wasn't for those of them who could hunt, they would all be dead right now. Well dead or almost dead. I could do with a few tips. She'd say, the best thing that she could probably say by now.
She'd stand up, tired of the cold trunk and her legs feeling less...used a lot. When he asked about her joining the hunting party, she shrugged. Yea. Not only is it good to be able to help the others. It's also good to know if you get lost at least you won't die from starvation. But there are other fields that I guess you could say I'm really good at. Fighting and running could fall under those. But I like hunting a lot better. She told him. She had probably gone into more depth than personally needed, however that didn't much matter to her. They were all here for a reason and if the Ark didn't send people down with medicine then some of them would die from stupid things.
As to the answer to her last question, they were going to follow the tracks. She moved closer to him, at least two feet apart. She looked to the ground, seeing the small hoof tracks that the deer had left. It was rather easy to see at first. However, gradually it got harder and harder as the ground got more firmly packed and dryer. Well this is lovely. Now we aren't going to be able to see the tracks here soon. She'd think. Then she'd turn her head over to Bellamy to see what he thought. Next thing she knew however, it was cold. And it was getting colder by the minute. Then the winds shifted and it was pouring the rain. Immediately she was drenched. I think that now we should like uh, get to some cover! She'd yell to him over the wind.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT She told him that she could do with a few tips, and he made a mental note of that. They were in the best situation for that to happen now as well, considering he could teach her through actual experience rather than just telling her a bunch of things with no example of application. He attentively listened as she went on to describe the benefits, and saying that she was good at running and fighting.
"Sounds like you'd make a good scout," he told her. If she was a fast runner, and could hold her own . . . then she could indeed be a good scout should they ever need one. "By combat you mean, hand to hand right? How are you with weapons?" He inquired. It was to learn more about her individual skills, but it would also help in the hunting department to figure out whether she had any skill with firearms, or aim with other weapons such as daggers, axes, and so on.
"I can help you out with that as well," he offered. He really wanted everyone to be able to hold their own. While he would do everything within his power to protect them . . . they all needed to learn how to protect themselves. Bellamy believed that each and every one of them was strong, and they were more than capable as well. Speaking of the need to protect, the tracks were getting harder to see and Bellamy looked up at the clouds, an overcast of clouds.
Before they knew it, they were soaked with the sudden downpour of rain. Damn it! "Stay close!" He instructed to her. With that, he began to run forward, glancing around every so often to make sure he didn't lose her. There were no bunkers nearby, no mapped out shelter. They would have to find a cave of some sort. With the heavy rain came many health risks and being this far from camp, they couldn't afford it right now.
Hope dawned upon him when he could have sworn he saw a cave up ahead. It was getting increasingly difficult to see with the rain. "Just up ahead," he spoke out, raising his voice enough to be heard as he hurried forward to -- much to his surprise, a cave was present. "Wait here for a second," he told her as he stepped inside, immediately raising his gun as he walked deeper into the cave until he reached the end of it. There was some light from the outside, enough to see that there was nothing else dwelling in what would be their shelter for the time being. He had just needed to be sure that there was no threat, or that they weren't intruding on an animal's territory. He turned back to the opening of the cave, motioning for her to enter. "It's clear," he instructed.

Long Live The Reckless And the Brave I don't think i want to be saved TAG: Bellamy Blake. WORDS: too lazy to count lol. NOTES: NOTES HERE The corner of her eye would flick over to him when he said she'd make a good scout. Would she now? She knew that she had the build for one. But then again, most woman had the build of a runner...just some weren't as graceful as others. She figured that she was somewhere between that area. However, it still didn't stop her from doing it anyway. The more she practiced, the better she got. Now, she could easily track her way though the forest without tripping unlike her first time. Her knees were still slightly banged up from that experience. When he asked about her fighting skills she shrugged. She grew up with a bunch of guys. She knew plenty of hand to hand combat. They had taught her many things. Once, they had even taught her how to fight with a knife, which she still remembered the basics.
I grew up with a bunch of dudes so yea I know the basics. As for weapons, I can use a gun for the most part, but a knife feels way more natural. So I guess i fall under the part where I can fight with a knife. She said, glancing down to the one that was tied to her belt loop. She had plenty of skills to get her through the wilderness of Earth. Maybe not as much as Bellamy himself, but enough for her to survive. When he said he could help her with learning some more, she said okay. She really didn't mind being taught. She had pride but it wasn't to the extent that it would keep her from asking for help when needed. If anything, she thought that that was the stupidest thing in the world. If you need it, just ask for it! It's not like your gonna get slapped or something.
When it started to poor and she had yelled at him, he told her to stay close. Did he really think that that would be the problem? She easily followed him, her feet manipulating across the grounds easily. Her hands however started to get numb. That was probably bad, however she could see the cave that Bellamy most certainly saw. He had sped up and her with him. That would have to be where they stayed seeing as they were to far from the camp. If they got sick now, they would most certainly die.
When he told her to stay outside, she nodded and pulled out her knife. She turned her back and pulled the knife up to her chest, the blades dull end crossing against her arm. She'd watch to make sure no grounders came while he went in and checked the place out. He eventually came back saying it was clear. She nodded to him and followed him in. It was warmer than it was outside, if but a little damp. She shook off her jacket and wrung it out over a dip in the floor. Then she'd toss it over out flat so it could dry. Then she'd plop down on the ground.
However short lived was their comfort, they had company stroll in. There was a grounder. When she saw it, she instantly pulled out her knife, her arms going into the defense that she always used and her legs bending down as her body went a little to the side. That was how she was taught to fight with knives and it proved effective enough. Not only would they have to reach down, but you had a better chance of getting away faster and escape was more than likely easier. Oh Bellamy. She'd call for him, almost as a wife calling for their husband when there was company at the door for them. We got some friends here. By the tone of the voice neither were quite friendly.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Prior to the downpour, she had told him that she knew how to fight with knives. Hand to hand combat was a great skill to have, and he decided that should she want it, he could help her train. Though he would first have to see what style she fought in and the extent of her abilities. But now was not the time for that. That had far more pressing concerns at the moment . . . like staying alive. Once they were both inside the cave, Bellamy moved his gun off his shoulder and set it on the ground as he removed his jacket.
Though he had a t-shirt on, his jacket was drenched and heavier than usual. It would be best if he at least attempted to let it dry. He wished he had something that could provide warmth for Annika but unfortunately, they didn't have much. The weather was completely unexpected as they had judged the good day for hunting on the apparent sun and warmth. Then again, weather was unpredictable. At least he had some water and a little food should the storm take longer than anticipated.
When he heard footsteps, and Annika point out that someone was here, Bellamy immediately grabbed his gun again and aimed it right at the Grounder. His finger was on the trigger and his aim dead set in the direction of the Grounder's head. Bellamy slowly took a few steps forward, noticing from his peripheral vision that Annika was also in defense mode with her dagger. Her stance indicated as such. Bellamy reflexively took a couple more steps, positioned ahead of her but not directly in front of her. It was his protective instinct he felt toward any of his people. Serving as a shield; a barrier that the Grounder had to get through before even attempting to go at Annika. It was all Bellamy could do to ensure her safety.
"Turn around and walk away right now." His voice was strong, reflective of the fact that he wasn't screwing around. Bellamy wasn't going to play the finders keepers game with this guy. He didn't want to shoot him unless he proved to be a threat. Right now, he appeared to be seeking out shelter like the rest of them, but Bellamy didn't trust him for a second. "You have three seconds before I shoot." The Grounder may have a sword, but he had a gun and bullets could move faster. Not to mention the fact that Annika was also ready to attack at any given moment. The Grounder was outnumbered.

Long Live The Reckless And the Brave I don't think i want to be saved TAG: Bellamy Blake. WORDS: too lazy to count lol. NOTES: NOTES HERE Prior to the party buster of the Grounders, Bellamy had thrown his jacket on the ground. She assumed that it had been for the same reason that she had done it. Or maybe he just wanted to strip? She didn't know but she most certainly preferred the first to the latter. She was shivering from the cold and wet, but she could deal with that later. There were more pressing issues at the moment.
Bellamy gave the grounder two options. Leave or get his face blown up. However, it seemed the grounder wanted to be dry instead of alive. Perhaps it was because of the rain that there was the chance to get sick and die or maybe he thought that they wouldn't do anything. She'd show him not doing anything. Aiming the knife, she tossed it. She had aimed to to nick his ear and be as close to his head as possible without killing him. Go. Away. She'd pronounce each word slowly and carefully with a voice dripping venom. He was going to get out or he was going to die. She'd look to Bellamy to see what he was going to do. She didn't want the grounder to die. But then again, she didn't want to stay in the same place as the grounder. They were so unpredictable.
Why did Earth have to be so complicated with not only the weather but also the people that had been inhabiting to? Speak|Think

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy wasn't exactly one for killing someone in cold blood. Unless the Grounder charged at him or Annika, he wasn't technically a threat. But that didn't mean the male was going to let the Grounder remain with them. He didn't trust their kind, and they were here first. However, the Grounder wasn't budging. It remained still in place, and Bellamy could see the stubbornness and determination in its eyes.
He felt no sympathy. The Grounders were more equipped to deal with this kind of weather than the Arkers. Even Annika's threat did not cause him to budge. He kept his gun aimed at the intruder. If they kept this up, they were going to be staring at each other the whole time and either way, the Grounder would get shelter. Bellamy lowered the gun and fired a shot near the Grounder's feet. He had missed on purpose but it was an attempt to show him that he wasn't messing around.
"One," he bluntly stated, starting the countdown. The Grounder glared at him, exchanging looks between him and Annika. Bellamy's finger tightened on the trigger. He wasn't going to waste another bullet, but he also wasn't going to let up. "Two." The Grounder finally started to retreat, slowly taking a few steps backwards, his eyes never leaving them or the gun that Bellamy was currently threatening him with. That was one thing that the Grounders evidently were wary of: guns.
They didn't have them, they didn't use them. And it was perhaps the only advantage that the Arkers had over the other people. The Grounder eventually turned and exited the cave, racing through the wet and still pouring area. Bellamy took a couple steps forward, standing at the entrance of the cave, his gun still on the enemy until he was out of sight. He still didn't trust it so just remained standing there, needing to be entirely certain. He then reached down, taking hold of the knife that Annika had thrown at the Grounder. "Here," he said, holding it out for her to take.

Long Live The Reckless And the Brave I don't think i want to be saved TAG: Bellamy Blake. WORDS: too lazy to count lol. NOTES: NOTES HERE She stared down the Grounder with Bellamy. It seemed it was a staring contest instead of one to get rid of him. Staring wasn't going to get them somewhere. Finally, Bellamy took the action and started to count down. After two, the grounder saw that they weren't kidding and he moved backwards. He watched them while he did though, thinking that they were going to cheat or something and stab him in his back. She continued to stare at the door, waiting for another to come. When she finally acknowledged the fact that Bellamy was handing her her knife, she just took it and smiled at him.
Thank you. She'd tell him, sticking the blade back where it had been sheathed. She went over to see if her jacket was even remotely drier than what it had been. Nope. That was freaking lovely. She was freezing and then she didn't have a jacket. She looked around the area, hands grabbing her bare arms as she tried to find something that would suffice. Nothing, the place was bare except for a few rocks. Ugghh. She'd moan to herself, no doubt Bellamy would hear her. She then just pulled herself up into a tiny ball, trying to get as much warmth as possible while her teeth chattered.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Once he was confident they were good for the time being, he lowered his gun but not his guard. He slung it over his shoulder again as he turned to look at her. He could see -- and hear -- how cold she was. Which was completely understandable. They were drenched, the air was freezing, the ground was too wet to make a fire, and they were in a dark cave. He moved to sit next to her, his back leaned against the cave wall. He rested the back of his head against it for a moment before he turned to the side to look at her.
He hated to see any of his people in pain, or discomfort. He wanted to do whatever he could to help . . . even in these situations. So his next offer was a no brainer. He opened his arm out, still looking at her. "Come here," he told her, not sounding overly intimate despite what he was suggesting. But his words weren't commanding either. He didn't usually cuddle with women until it was after the more vigorous nightly activities he engaged in with them. But right now, he was hoping that any body heat he could offer her would help warm her.

Long Live The Reckless And the Brave I don't think i want to be saved TAG: Bellamy Blake. WORDS: too lazy to count lol. NOTES: NOTES HERE She had seen him lower his gun and put it on his shoulder. However, he still looked tense. Understandable seeing as everyone has had a bad experience with grounders. The suckers just couldn't leave them along could they? Earth was big enough to share between the two different people. The grounders just had to...share because sharing was caring and if they didn't share they obviously didn't care about them. That almost made her snort, however, she had to keep it in. Though it didn't stop the smile that came to her chattering lips.
She eye'd him as he came and sat next to her. Good job to getting him to run off. She said, giving him a smile. Next thing she knew, he was holding his arm out to her and told her to come to him. They were a foot or two apart, but she'd still have to move. But the thing that stopped her was the fact that he was trying to get her to go over to him. Wasn't that for like, people that were more than a level of friends. She liked Bellamy, he was a cool guy. She may or may not have thought he was cute at one point but he wanted her to go to him and..cuddle? Like it made sense since she was freezing but still. Logic won over however. She'd rather live than die because of hypothermia.
She kinda half lifted herself half crawled over to him. Not to mention she was highly conscious of herself too. She tried to get herself comfortable and then she just stared around awkwardly. When she wanted to hunt, she hadn't expected over half of this to happen. Only that they would...hunt. Now she was in a cave with a huge storm going on. When there was a huge cackle and boom she jolted for a moment, freaked out by the sound. It was...unnatural to her ears but perhaps more natural for the lands?

whatever THE HELL WE WANT She commended him for getting the Grounder to run off, and he continued to look at her. "Good aim with your knife. Between the two of us, I think he realized he didn't have much of a chance." Her aim had been good. It was evident that she hadn't tried to kill him either. Neither of them had. He continued to watch her as she moved closer to him, and once she was against him, he wrapped his arm around her from behind, holding her against his chest.
He could sense the awkwardness within her, and was going to try to get it to ease, for he didn't feel any discomfort in the moment. Besides, who wouldn't want to curl up with a beautiful woman? He only wished it was under better circumstances . . . and it wasn't because they were stuck somewhere, trying to fight off the cold in a storm. He felt more than saw her jump as the thunder and lightening startled her.
"It's ok," he reassured her in a low voice. His hand moved up and down her arm and shoulder in attempt to create some friction that would hopefully add heat to her body. "Just some thunder and lightening to add to the mood," he said a bit jokingly. "But it's harmless." Because they had cover. He had read about storms, lightening, thunder, what caused it. On the Ark, it was such a foreign concept. Here on Earth, it was a pain in the ass.
