And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ It was early morning, just about sunrise. Leiana knew this because the sun was just starting to cast an array of colors across the sky. The camp was quiet, even a little peaceful since the other delinquents were still sleeping or only just starting to stir. And now that Jasper was safe and sound back in camp, even if he was hurt like hell and wailing like a banshee half the time, things had finally calmed down enough for her to be able to appreciate all that was around her.
So as she walked through the camp she let herself be captivated by every little detail. Earth was beautiful. There were birds chirping and insects humming, fresh air and morning dew on the ground. Dozens of things she could only ever imagine while living on the Ark. There was suddenly life ever which way she looked.
But most importantly there was a reason to keep living when only a short while ago her life have been empty of all these things. Even the moon looked different, she thought. It was bigger, and brighter, and more amazing then ever before.
And yet there was still danger lurking around every corner. Leiana had heard the whispered words going about the camp. Some of the delinquents, the ones that had been swayed by Bellamy's charismatic words, wanted to remove the bracelets they all wore. They wanted to convince the Ark that they were dead; that the ground was not survivable. She totally understood their feelings about it. After all, they had been sent on a suicide mission. However, she didn't agree with them.
There were people on the Ark that she cared deeply for, like Jay, and Tara. Leiana didn't want them to think she had died. So for the last few days she had avoided Bellamy and his lackeys--which wasn't so difficult of a task. Not at first, at least. She wasn't the only one refusing to take their bracelet off and she wasn't the kind of person to stand out in a crowd. But they were becoming harder to avoid.
More of them were swayed by Bellamy and his speeches of no rules and freedom. And only those that removed their bracelets were given meat. Leiana had managed to scrounge enough to get her through the first few nights, to keep herself from starving to death, but it hadn't been easy and it was only going to get harder. It was like a noose was slowly tightening around her neck and forcing her hand.
But she didn't want to think about that at the moment. She came to a standstill at the edge of the camp and enjoyed the way the rising sun illuminated the world with color. She was going to enjoy these few moments of peace before the others woke.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy had always been a light sleeper. On the Ark, it was primarily due to the threat of surprise inspections at any hour of the day. Until his other had found her ways of knowing -- or before Bellamy fully understood them -- he'd been too scared to sleep. My sister, my responsibility being the words that played over and over in his mind. If anything happened to Octavia, it would be his fault. That was after all what was instilled in him the moment she was born. Not much had changed. He came to Earth to be with her. And while he tended to find other company in the night, his top priority was still her. And of course, to protect her he needed to protect himself.
Which was the whole idea behind taking the bracelets off. Last night had been a tremendous success with bringing back the panther. It further convinced people to join with him, seeing that they could provide with him. Most of them had taken off the bracelets and Bellamy had celebrated . . . with Roma. She poked him awake early in the morning and though it didn't take much to awaken the rebel leader, he opened his eyes to look at her. She had to go to the bathroom. "Well then go. Pick a tree." Was his nonchalant reply. Roma seemed utterly shocked by it. "I am not peeing in the woods!" Typical defiance. "You don't have a choice. You sure as hell aren't going in here." With an over exaggerated sigh, Roma exited the tent, muttering about how she had better keep watch.
Bellamy rolled his eyes, but reached for his pants and boots, not bothering with a shirt. Most others would be asleep by now anyway. He stepped out of his tent and saw another woman in the distance. "Move!" She huffed at her, brushing her shoulder against the girl as she marched into the woods. Bellamy approached the other delinquent as Roman disappeared in the not so far distance. "You're up kinda early," he told her, eyes immediately resting on the bracelet. A slight smirk formed on his expression as he looked at her face. "Too hungry to sleep?" Clear sarcasm, and taunting in his voice, clearly referencing her lack of exchange between the bracelet for food.

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ The peace of the moment was ruined by Roma's sudden appearance and callous behavior. But it hasn't the harsh tone or brushing of their shoulders that had Leiana rolling her eyes dramatically—it was Bellamy's arrival. It was too early for this confrontation and she would much rather avoid it all together.
Leiana looked at him out of the corner of an eye and even with her impaired vision saw him dressed is only pants and boots. She scoffed softly, looking in the direction Roma had gone as she made the connection.
The realization that he was sleeping with the delinquent wasn't nearly as shocking as it had been the first night they landed. Bellamy was proving to be quite a hit with the ladies. "It wasn't that." There was a soft defiance in her voice, in her eyes as they briefly looked over his shirtless body and then away just as quickly.
"Jasper was screaming. I can't bear to listen knowing there is nothing I can do to help." Those words made her heart clench painfully. She hated hearing Jasper scream. Leiana purposely ignored his taunt, refusing him the satisfaction of getting a rile out of her. Instead she crossed her arms against her chest and resumed watching the sunrise.
This was not how she wanted to spend the morning; being scrutinized by him or having him wrestle the bracelet off her. They both knew that he could take it by force if the mood struck him. "So... Roma, huh?" She said suddenly, softly. Leiana was uncomfortable having his attention on her and wanted desperately to shift his focus.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy could feel her flickering gaze upon him, though only returned it when she spoke of how it wasn't hungry that kept her up. Or awoke her at this early hour of the day. Before anyone else. Apart from him and Roma. She explained that it was because of Jasper; the screaming. The helplessness that she felt. Bellamy also heard the screams but, he much preferred to drown them out in other ways. That's where Roma helped.
He averted his gaze back to looking in front of him, as if he was awaiting Roma's return. "Well, there isn't," he confirmed bluntly, in regards to there being nothing she could do to help. "The screaming will stop soon enough. Either he'll get better. Or he'll die." Perhaps next time, the Princess would think twice before blindly going through the woods having no idea where they were actually going. Her next question caused his eyes to rest on the delinquent again, a slightly raised eyebrow and hint of a smirk. "Do you care?" He asked, only partly rhetorically.

❧ Leia's jaw clenched as he spoke, her hands curling into fists. He was right -- there was nothing she could do, not for Jasper, not for Clarke, not for any of them. She was useless, a burden, but that knowledge didn't stop his words from twisting the knife in her heart. Leiana was quiet for a long while, staring at the colorful sky, refusing to look at him and let him see the hurt and anger in her eyes, on her face. She didn't want him to know that his words hurt. It would only give him satisfaction and power over her. And yet... she looked. Just a peek out of the corner of her eye and caught the smirk on his face. She scoffed and shifted and looked back ahead. "Would you care even if I did?" Leia very much doubted he would; he probably cared as much for her opinion as he would for some else's. And she most certainly didn't care. Leiana didn't care for his attitude, or for how he stood there staring at her, and least of all that he had been shirtless.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy looked back in front of him, the rustling of leaves in the distance indicating that Roma was not far. And still, Bellamy was ready for the unexpected. With the grounders out there, he wouldn't be entirely surprised if they suddenly emerged from the trees.
"You're the one who brought it up," he stated, eyes still focused on the area in front of him. When he saw her unmistakable hair in the distance, he let himself relax a little. "Word of advice," he turned to look back at the delinquent. "Start worrying about yourself. And how you're gonna keep from going hungry." Because Bellamy had every intention of keeping to the exchange of food for the removal of the bracelet. With that, Roma brushed past him, expectantly as he turned to follow her back inside his tent.

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ The past few days had been difficult to say the least. Bellamy had kept his word and Leiana hadn't been given any food because she refused to remove the bracelet. And then one day all of them had gotten fried... so it didn't matter anymore. Leiana hadn't dwelled on it as there was nothing to be done about it. Instead she had spent the past several hours pacing around the camp, waiting, sulking, fretting, because Clarke was still somewhere out in the forest... alone with Bellamy.
And even though she knew that Clarke was capable of taking care of herself... she was worried. But she had heard from one of Bellamy's henchmen that they'd returned, and was hurrying through to camp in search of Clarke. She burst into the drop ship, panting slightly, looking almost relieved and excited. "Clarke! You're back!" She fell silent and stopped in her tracks when her vision adjusted to the drop ship enough for her to see that it was definitely not Clarke.
Leiana found herself staring at Bellamy... who looked like he was sorting and storing... guns? She stared at him, surprised, stunned, and unsure what to say. She hadn't heard anything about guns and she didn't know if she should be frightened or not. So she only stared, like a deer in headlights. "Bellamy?" She said his name softly, softer then when she had called out for the blonde woman. "What's all this?"

whatever THE HELL WE WANT The trip to the woods had taken . . . many unexpected turns. From getting high off the food, to Dax's assassination attempt . . . to the emotional revelation. It was long coming, but never did he think he would break down in front of Clarke. Without a doubt, the Jobi nuts played a part. But still. Bellamy had left without the intention of returning to camp, and everything had changed. Including his mindset. He now returned with more commitment than ever before. Clarke even reassured him that she would personally speak to Jaha about pardoning him. But for right now, they were sorting the next big thing. Guns. They had briefly spoken to the delinquents about it, and Bellamy would start selecting people who would train with him and be on a make shift militia.
He told Clarke he would keep guard of the guns tonight, not wanting any delinquents to get their hands on them. Dax could just be one of many of them with their own ploy. As Bellamy was wiping one of them, lost in his own thoughts, Leiana came bursting in, clearly looking for Clarke. Bellamy didn't look up from his task. "She's in her tent," he answered. Probably resting. It had been a hell of a day. And she had taken a beating in the stomach from Dax. Bellamy was glad that he at least got the brunt of it, as evidenced by his damn face. But when she asked about what this all was, Bellamy raised his gaze from his seated position and looked at her. "This," he began to say, slightly holding up the gun he was currently polishing. "Is what is gonna give us a fight chance against the damn Grounders." Because now, they could fight. Long range. And that, was going to give them one hell of an advantage.

❧ The gasp that escaped her when he looked up was loud, shattering the silence. Her hands shot up to cover her mouth, hiding the shock but it was there to be seen on her face, in her eyes. "Shit Bellamy!" She hesitated for barely a second before rushing to his side. Her hand touched his shoulder, trying to keep his attention of her as she studied each dark, angry bruise that marked his face. Leiana frowned slightly, her brows knitting together in concern. "That's really bad." She felt stupid for saying that. He knew how bad it was without having to be told.
He was probably fine and would probably shrug of her concern. But knowing that didn't stop her heart from hurting for him. "Have you have someone have a look at you? You could be really hurt." Yeah, okay, she hated to see him like this.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy had nearly forgotten about the marks on his face, his mind preoccupied with more than the physical beating he had taken from Dax. The ghosts surrounding him more prominent on his mind. But Leiana's reaction was . . . surprising. He wasn't even sure if that was the right word. But there was a genuine care in her voice and expression. Not to mention her movement as she moved to his side, gently placing a hand on his shoulder. A further comforting touch, yet one that Bellamy knew he didn't deserve. Particularly in recognizing that they had interactions before the ground.
No. Bellamy had killed 300 people. He had tried to kill Jaha. His mother was dead because of him. There was so much blood on his hands; blood was far outweighed any spilled from Dax's actions. "I'm fine," he said dismissively, the guilt too much to bare to even maintain eye contact with her as he averted his head back to polishing the gun. "It was Dax," he revealed, knowing it was no secret since his missing presence would be noticed. "It's, a long story," he added on. "Main thing is that he's dead. I'm not." Yet, he didn't even find relief in his words. They were spoken just as mere fact. "How are you feeling?" He asked, briefly looking at her before back at the gun. "Heard the Jobi nuts did quite the number on everyone." Including him and Clarke, so Bellamy couldn't even imagine what had happened at camp. At least everyone seemed to be safe for the most part.

❧ Her brows drew together in concern. I'm fine, he said but he was lying. That much was obvious from the way he couldn't look at her. Leiana frowned slightly, sighed softly as he explained that it was Dax. The news surprised her and it shouldn't have. She often forget that they were all criminals to some degree or another. It only made sense that they'd turn on each other sooner or later, and she hated knowing that. Bellamy casually revealed that Dax was dead and her mind went racing again; questions bubbled to the surface but would remain unasked.
"Yeah... I'm okay. It was a weird night... Monty ate a pine cone." She'd spent most of the night pacing, waiting for Clarke's return, and then later hid, cowering because her father was in the camp trying to kill her. Now that she was sober she knew that it simply wasn't possible but at the time it had bought back a lot of old memories that were better left forgotten. Her hand was still on his shoulder and she squeezed gently, trying to reassure him that she wasn't going anywhere, trying to get him to look at her again. With the opposite hand she very carefully pushed aside the guns on the table so she could lean against. "It's going to be a long night, right?" She smiled, trying to be comforting, even if she felt worried sick. She hoped that Clarke was okay and would definitely check on her soon... but right now her focus was on Bellamy. "So I've got time for a long story. You can talk to me, Bellamy, if you need someone to talk to..."
