Things had felt like a whirlwind after the City of Light was taken down. Weeks worth of pain returned to Jackson's body from however long Alie had him working without rest, exhaustion swamping him immediately, but that was nothing compared to the pain in his heart. His actions had led directly to the downfall of Arkadia; his betrayal of the closest thing he had to family had caused so much pain and suffering. He remembered smiling as people were crucified, feeling it was just. He remembered running toward the throne, prepared to kill Clarke... and Abby too, if necessary. He still had nightmares where he had his hands around her throat, feeling her neck snapping under his grip. What kind of monster was he that the removal of his pain could turn him so completely?
But there hadn't been time to work through it. He'd slept a little, only enough so that he could trust his own judgment again, at least where it came to medicine, and then went back to work. So many were injured in Polis. He and Abby barely talked, except for what was needed to work, and Jackson tried his best to ignore how painful that was. After a while, the injured were healing, but not enough that he could leave Polis yet.
When a young boy came into Medical with a young woman, it was clear to Jackson that the boy had had to wait for medical treatment due to the high volume of patients following the fall of the City of Light. The young boy had a fever and chills, headaches, fatigue, and some nasty congestion. He finished looking over the boy, offering him a kind smile, and then walked out to where his mother was waiting.
He never knew how to introduce himself to Grounders. They didn't appear to have last names, so 'Mr. or Mrs. So And So' didn't work, and most of them looked at him like he was crazy when he offered a handshake. She looked worried, so he tried to smile at her too, but it was harder to smile at adults these days than it was children. Like they knew he deserved their hatred. "Hi, I'm Doctor Jackson. Do you... speak English?" he asked, glancing around for someone to translate, in case she didn't.Tag: Klara OOC: So sorry this took so long!! Lemme know if I need to edit anything!

After a long time spent on the forest hidden in caves in order to be and to keep the orphans safe during the whole City Of Light thing, Klara went to Polis with all the kids. The city was now calm but full of sadness, people who had taken the chip were all traumatised and the others were trying to forgive them but apparently it was hard. But this day, Klara didn't have the time to think about the silence which had settled in the capital. One of the orphans was sick, the young boy didn't feel very well since few days but as the doctors and healers were very busy so Klara had decided to try to stop his headaches and the fever with some plants or potions but it didn't work. All the contrary, it got worst so she brought him to the place where the doctors had settled. As soon as they arrived, a Skaikru man came to look over the boy. Klara let him go with the doctor and waited outside. The wait seemed so long, she hoped that what the boy had wasn't to bad. Years ago, her mother's illness had began the same way, some little symptomes which had became worst and worst and it had cost her her life. Klara wasn't ready to lose someone that way again. When she saw the doctor walking in her direction, she tried to calm down a little which was very hard right at the moment, she was so worry and stressed. As he presented himself before asking her if she spoke English, Klara answered " Hi, I'm Klara. And yes, I speak English. How is he?". She hoped the young boy was going to be okay. @severitysoftly OOC: No problem for the wait! ^^ Take all the time you need!

Jackson was relieved that she spoke English, and it seemed like she spoke it well, actually. He reached his hand out toward her shoulder, but didn't actually touch her, unsure how some Grounders would react. Hell, for that matter, he didn't know how Arkers would react, if they knew what he did. "He's fine right now. He's resting," he said, using his other hand to indicate a couple of chairs they could sit in. Normally this was just to put patients' loved ones at ease, but right now, it also helped Jackson's still aching bones.
Once they were seated, he looked over at her again. "It seems that your son has a nasty case of the flu, which means there's good news and bad. The bad is that there isn't any treatment for it except rest and staying hydrated. The good news is that it's very rarely fatal in people who are otherwise normally healthy." The boy was young, but not so young he was automatically in a more vulnerable population when dealing with flu. "Does your son have any health issues I should be aware of?"Tag: Klara

Klara saw how relieved the doctor seemed to be when he heard her speaking English. She actually liked this language, plus she was a scout so she needed to know how to speak English, but the Arker couldn't know that. She felt a little relieved at her turn as Jackson told her that the young boy was fine for now. But when he invited her go sit on some chairs, she understood that something might be wrong, if the orphan was going to be fine, the doctor could have tell it to Klara now. So the scout followed the man, trying to prepare herself to hear what he was going to say which was very hard because she couldn't think of another thing than what happened to her mother years ago.
When the doctor looked over her before begining to speak, Klara focused on what he had to say, he had all her attention, especially since the moment he spoke about flu. "Flu? Do you think he's gonna be okay?" The flu... That was what they said when her mother became sick and it didn't end well so this news wasn't a good one at all for Klara, she couldn't live this story again. When he asked her if her son haad health issues, Klara noticed the use of the word son so she said softly "My son? I'm not his mother, I just take care of him...". She guessed the boy and the orphans wished they had a mother but unfortunately they didn't, all they had was her, a kind of big sister who worried for them and took care of them as well as she could. "I don't think he has health issues... He is a strong boy who rarely gets sick..." the scout answered before adding "You're sure there's nothing which could help him healing?".

Jackson nodded when Klara asked if he thought the boy would be alright. He could tell that she was still concerned, though. "Oh, apologies," he said, when she corrected that he was not her son. It was still strange to Jackson how loose they had to be with things like that here on Earth. On the Ark, they had records on everyone, and children usually came in with a parent or legal guardian, unless in emergencies. On the ground, they usually had little information about their patients, and Jackson was still getting used to it.
He was encouraged when Klara said she didn't know of any health issues, and described the boy as strong. "There isn't much, at least in the way of medicine." he told her calmly. Even before the nuclear missiles had launched, the best Earth medicine could manage was a medication to shorten the duration of the flu, and that only worked if you took it early on. Even if they had that, the boy was too sick now for it to help him. "Like I said, rest and staying hydrated are the best choices. Humidity can help, if you boil some water and take it off the heat, then have him hold his head over it and breath in the steam, that can relieve some congestion. Gargling salt water, or nasal irrigation helps too, but I've never met a kid who didn't think that last one is gross," he told her, smiling faintly at the last part, because kids made their opinions about nasal irrigation very clear. Some adults too. "None of that stuff is a cure, but it might make him feel better while he recovers. If he's usually a strong kid, he should pull through this. If he has any siblings at home, though, or is around anyone with a weakened immune system, he should limit his interaction with them to keep them from getting sick too."Tag: Klara

Klara was quite glad to see that apparently he should be okay but she was still very concerned for the little boy. "No problem, don't worry. You couldn't know." she answered as he apologised for the son part. She was aware that it must be hard for the doctor down there on Earth, she understood how weird it was that someone who wasn't a relative brought a patient to him. That was why, she couldn't blame Jackson for thinking that the boy she brought was her son, it seemed logical and totally human to think that.
As Jackson said that they couldn't do anything because medicine won't help them on that one, it didn't help her concern to go away and it almost brought her tears but as always she tried to deal with her feelings. Plus, it really wasn't the doctor's fault so she couldn't be mad at him and she couldn't show him how sad she was at the idea of losing the little boy. "Okay, I will do my best for him to recover quickly. And for humidity, don't worry... I know loads of places humid and we actually live in one of those so it should be fine.". It wasn't very hard to find humidity in the caves and that was where she was used to stay. "But I can't assure that he will be okay with the nasal irrigations... But I'll do my best to make him try it." she added.
Then when he spoke about having not to let the boy staying with other kids, Klara couldn't figure out how she was going to deal with it. Kids weren't what lacked around her so even if she wanted to isolate the boy to keep the other orphans safe, she had no idea how she was going to do it. "Limit his interactions with other children? That's going to be very hard to do... He lives with something like ten other kids so it might be difficult to keep him away from the others.".
