Abby knew about Jackson and Bellamy being together. After everything that happened with Bellamy siding with Pike, Jackson taking Alie's chip, and the tension that had resulted afterward, it had taken Jackson a while to be open about it, fearing Abby wouldn't approve. But Jackson and Abby had mended their relationship over time, and then Bellamy had gotten himself injured. Jackson's reaction made his feelings for Bellamy blatantly obvious. Since then, they'd moved to shared quarters. Jackson didn't talk a lot about his relationship with Bellamy, but he knew Abby knew he was serious. She'd known Jackson so long, and she'd seen how Jackson resisted forming close bonds with people whose last names weren't Griffin, so even if no one else saw how much he loved Bellamy, he knew she did. Even if he didn't say it.
So when Bellamy agreed to marry him, after what had been maybe the hardest month of his life, between going through radiation sickness, nearly losing Bellamy over it, and then Bellamy being gone on an extended trip (during which Jackson had buried himself in work to the point of exhaustion to distract himself), he felt like his life would be forever changed. And it would be. For the better. And... Abby needed to be a part of it. She was his closest friend and colleague, but also the closest thing he had to family. The closest thing he had to a mother. Even if he and Bellamy only had a small civil ceremony, Jackson wanted Abby to be there.
Jackson waited until the end of the day, the day after he and Bellamy were engaged, while he was sterilizing equipment for the next day. He wasn't sure how he held it in all day, but he glanced over at Abby as he worked. "Abby, can I steal you from Kane for dinner tonight?" he asked, unable to stop the smile that crept onto his face. God, she was going to know something was up before they even got to the hangar. She probably did already, considering he'd caught himself smiling on and off all day, which was unlike his usually serious demeanor at work.
