Some things had not changed since Ontari had become Heda. Nia, for example, was the still the same as ever. Ontari had listened to her, she had become as influential in Ontari's decisions as cupbearer to a king. Always whispering in Ontari's ear. Always making sure things went the way that would benefit Azgeda, with no thought for others and the other clans that Ontari also controlled. Some things had changed, however. Ontari was Heda. She lived in Polis, she was always protected, and had the best warriors at her control. She was constantly under the scrutiny of her people. That scrutiny had managed to leave Ontari more and more unsure that she was fit for the job, even when she wasn't in the position to please the people. The scrutiny scared her and left her often inside, in the safety of the tower where people weren't able to attack her. Not that she would ever admit she was scared by anything. In the face of her worst nightmare Ontari would still never admit such a thing. She was a warrior, warriors did not become scared. She was not to become scared. Nia would never allow such a thing and because of that, she would never allow it of herself. Really, she could hardly admit the fact to herself. Nia's opinion, however, was now, in the simple reading of a letter, not important. Ontari scrunched up the paper that had been brought to her, throwing it across the room as her face scrunched up and teeth were bared like an animal ready to attack. The guards in the room took an obvious step back as Ontari stood to her feet, her sword sliding out of its holder. "Bring me Queen Nia!" she commanded, causing a mass movement in the room. Like no one wanted to be in the room any longer. Like everyone wanted to be quick in collecting the Queen of Azgeda as Ontari had told them to do. One of the first things that Ontari had done with her position as Heda was appoint someone to find her parents. It had been done in secret of Nia, really the only thing she had done for herself. As much as she had been raised to be completely loyal to her Queen, Ontari had always felt the nudge in her mind that told her to find her parents. She held a need to know who they were and to maybe, just maybe, meet them as well. With her position, with Nia in her ear, she had never expected that her parents would be able to be a big part of her life but to be something, to now them somehow, that was all she wanted. Now, she knew she never would. There had never been any chance of her meeting them because they weren't alive. By Nia's hands, according to what her person had found. Ontari wasn't going to let that just pass without doing something about it. Anger was pushing back any fear she held towards Nia for the moment. The Queen was in Polis at the moment, had been visiting Ontari to inform her of some issues with Trikru but now Ontari didn't care for that. There was something else that she wished Nia to inform her about now. As the guard brought Nia into the room, Ontari moved forward from where she had stood near her throne, her steps heavy and loud in the relatively quiet room. Her eyes still held all the anger from when she had first read the letter, her mind still in a haze that blocked her from feeling anything but that one emotion. Once she was only a short couple metres from Nia, she stopped and motioned for the guards to stop as well. They stepped away from Nia but stayed close by. "Queen Nia of Azgeda," Ontari said, her voice relatively level for the rage she felt. "I have come to be informed that you were responsible for the murder of my parents when I was taken from them." Pausing for moment, Ontari's gaze didn't fall from Nia's face. "I now have one question for you, what would your judgement be for a crime such as that?" Queen Nia || I'm excited for this fun AU! |
