Ludo loved being in the surroundings of the trees. Once again he was out on a hunt cheching all his traps for caught animals and so far none of them were successful. He had just left one of his traps behind after he made some improvements regarding the traps efficiency when he heard something that sounded human and the sound did not come from a human that knew how to move silently through the forest. He didn't think long before the thought of it being a Arker had crossed his mind and he started moving faster to get away from the noise and at the same time get to his next trap.
Ludo stopped several times turning his head in the direction of the sound which he couldn't here anymore. That was not the sign of not being chased anymore and he kept doing his thing; move fast and silently, covering his tracks and after covering a curtain amount of meters he stopped listening for the sounds of the person he had heard some time ago. He had just covered his tracks, getting ready to stop and listen when he stepped into an unknown and unseen trap made by metal. It snapped around his shin like a sharks mouth around a seal, sending a whole chok of pain through his body. A roar of pain left his mouth and his first instinkt was to pull his leg to him and when doing that another sound left his lips. How could he of all people end up in a trap. He felt stupid and the shame was far more hurting than the pain he was in from the trap.

This is my Fight Song--TAKE BACK MY LIFE SONG, PROVE I'M ALRIGHT SONGThe last time Harper had turned her head back, she was sure that the other two guards had still been with her. Now all she could see were trees and plants, mixes of green and brown and no sign at all of the black guard uniform. It was the fact that Harper also couldn't remember hearing anything out of the ordinary, anything that might explain why they had fell back that worried her the most. That meant it wasn't likely that they were attacked but more that something else had happened for them to stop or go in a different direction. Animals were loud. Grounders, however... They were on a routine patrol and nothing interesting ever tended to happen on these patrols, especially with the ceasefire that meant grounders weren't the threat they used to be. "Guys?" she called out, the sound almost echoing in the forest as no response came. Great. No response.
She turned back, her feet hitting the ground hard as she started to jog back in the direction she had came from. There wasn't any sign of a struggle, nothing to indicate the other two guards had even been along the path. Harper's eyes also kept moving up into the trees, knowing full well how the grounders liked to move around and where they often attacked from. When she finally did hear a sound, it was a cry of pain. Harper's eyes widened and she turned towards the sound. Maybe they had been attacked. The sound of the cry hadn't been familiar to her but Harper didn't think much about that, only focusing on the fact that it was coming at a time when she couldn't find two of her people. As she ran, she took hold of her gun, keeping it aimed at the ground as she ran and only moving it up when she caught sight of a figure ahead of her.
From a distance, Harper couldn't work out who it might be. Her feet slowed, her steps becoming more careful and more purposeful. She moved her gun, aiming at the trees above as she watched for any signs of archers or warriors. No one attacked as she moved closer to the person. As she got closer, it became obvious to her that it wasn't one of the guards she had been separated from. It was a grounder. The closer she got, the more obvious the situation. He was stuck in what looked to be a trap, metal teeth dug into his leg. Her eyes widened and she lowered her gun, still keeping her hands gripped onto it but not wanting to scare the man stuck in a trap. "Need some help?" she asked, staying a small distance from the man, far enough away that he couldn't touch her. While the thought of her patrol was still leaving her worried, Harper had already asked the question. Part of her wanted to just run away, leave him be and tell someone else about him later. She had other things to worry about. For now though, she would wait for his response. Ludo || Got Harps alone in the forest. Let's see how helpful she is |

He couldn't believe himself. How on earth could he miss the fact that a teen teethed trap was on the ground ready to nail some helpless animal - or in this case a stupid, negligent guy - to the ground just to bleed to death. He was stuck and every move he made, which was all the time because of the aching muscles, would send a ton of pain through his body and then the mooches would tighten up, send even more pain through his body and the cycle just would not stop unless he would be able to get out of the damn thing. Not only was he mad and in pain of the situation with the trap around his leg but he was also angry at himself for giving away that he was in this position from the cry he had let go when the trap caught him. Just from the thought of what the future prospects would be he get more angry with himself.
For some time he had considered his opportunities and so far he had found about 4 of them that made just a tiny bit of sense to even fulfil . First one was where he had found a way to get out of the trap and then use his skills from the practise of Healing to stop the bleeding and then return home and get care. The second opportunity was where he would wait for the person who had put up the trap to come to check up on it and then get free and be helped by this person. The third was with the same course of action but where he would get his dagger out and slice the man open and then walk away. The fourth was one he least saw come true. It would concern death by bleeding out and he would be the one to go and that would not be great for him. He counted on the first or the second one and if the second the guy that had put up the trap would need to speed up a bit so he wouldn't have to combine second and fourth.
As it was it came true with the second one. Except it was a girl that came to his rescue and from the first sight of her she didn't even know how the trap worked and she was Skaikru. He was screwed and his face told her that with no intention on hiding his disappointment. With the same feeling in his voice he answered; "If you by any chance would know how to help me out of this I would be glad if you helped..." he then paused and gazed at her for at short while before continuing ".. But can you really help?" this time with actual mistrust in her being able to do much more than shoot him to put him out of his misery.

This is my Fight Song--TAKE BACK MY LIFE SONG, PROVE I'M ALRIGHT SONGThe reaction that Harper got from the grounder in the trap wasn't anything other than what she might have expected. He looked disappointed. Like he had hoped his cries of pain might have attracted someone different, someone more in a position to be able to help him. That thought did leave her wondering if it might be safer to run, to let someone else find the man, and keep herself away from that someone else so she wasn't attacked. She did need to go find the other guards that she had been with...but still, some part of her didn't want to leave the man there in pain. Not after hearing his cry of pain. Maybe it was because the memories of the drilling in Mount Weather seemed so fresh in her mind sometimes, maybe it was her worry of him trying to get some sort of revenge over her leaving him but whatever it was, Harper couldn't make herself just turn around and walk away. She would help him.
Although she wasn't sure how well she could help him. The steps slow and careful like she were approaching an animal, Harper moved closer to the grounder to see the trap he was caught in better. It was made form metal and had teeth that were now dug deep into the grounder's leg. Harper's first thought was that she would need to try and pull the metal teeth open so that the grounder could get his leg out. How she would manage to get it open, well, that she didn't know. Maybe the grounder would have more of an idea than her and he could tell her how to get him out of the trap safely. "I might be able to help," she said, admitting to the fact that she wasn't completely sure. With obvious hesitation, Harper watched for the grounder's reaction as she got even closer, close enough to touch the trap. "Do you know how these things work?" If he didn't, she would have to work it out herself. Ludo || At least she hasn't run...hahaha |
