Wick sat in the driver's seat of the rover and gave Bellamy a thumbs up before speeding away. YEAH! He loved the power! Wick hadn't overly enjoyed this mission so far, but he was having a bit of fun now. Him and @severitysoftly were going to drive the half mile over to a deep valley and check to see if it had some low radiation, and if the water was alright to fill up their containers. The others were going to hunt! "Think will be fun, Doc!" Wick had promised.

"Would you believe that I only ever drove one of these once before?" Wick asked, not bothering to tell Jackson that he had hit a tree that time too when Bellamy had taken him out after Raven had dumped him. This time he was more clear headed! "You know I designed the solar system this thing uses?" He told more then asked Jackson. "It's only fair I get to drive it some!" He had avoided a lot of the mapping missions since Raven went, and he didn't want to be around her while she was pulling away. So instead he just worked on building the Ark. He wasn't really a bold person anyway. He did't like going out side the Ark walls.

Back on the Ark, he hadn't liked the idea of going out in space. It was why he became an engineer rather then a mechanic. He had been afraid of space. The idea of getting floated had been his worst nightmare. It was why Kyle's playful side hadn't really ever turned to pranks until he got on the ground.

Jackson watched Wick as he climbed into the rover, insisting this would be fun. None of this was fun. Jackson hurt everywhere and they were literally going on this mission to try to prevent them from all dying. But he tried to give Wick a smile. He was pretty sure his lips had only twitched, though. He'd smiled a lot when he'd been chipped. For all the wrong reasons. Smiling felt wrong. He didn't know Wick well, but he generally seemed amiable and... well, talkative.

Jackson instantly regretted taking the passenger seat when Wick admitted he'd only ever driven a rover once. Jackson didn't drive them a lot, but he'd gotten comfortable with them from doing supply runs to Mount Weather. They were hard to handle until you got the hang of it. "Yeah," Jackson answered, not sounding too enthusiastic about it. "Maybe slow down, though," he suggested. "And watch that dip," he said, pointing ahead of them where the terrain took a dip that might be difficult for the rover to maneuver.

Jackson didn't seemed to be having fun, and Wick figured this would be a good time to lossen the guy up! They could test drive this a bit! Jackson told him to slow down, and Wick did--but only for the guy's comfort. "Nah, this will make it over the dip!" Wick promised, and he speed up slightly to ride up on it, and let the rover jump it slightly. "See! I deigned this system! So unless some mechanic--" And there was really only one left right now, so he wasn't going to over blame his ex, "--screwed around with it, then it should bounce over the little dips and bends!"

Kyle grinned as they came up on another one, this one equally small. "It's all about science!" Everything else was just cause and effect! The last time he crashed the rover it had been because he was learning! This time he was more ready, and his head was clear! His break up with Raven had hurt like hell, and for a little while he hadn't really wanted to do much. Now he was moving on, he had a girl that was willing to open up to him, and he was driving the rover just fine! "Besides! If we crash we got the doctor here!" He joked, and his tone was clear that he was joking. "Though if we crash, we are going to have to die in the crash because if I live Bellamy will finish the job when I get back." Another joke, but this one he meant too.

If Jackson had been regretting letting Wick drive after he said he'd only driven once, he regretted it even more as Wick sped up to take the dip in the terrain, jostling them in the passenger compartment. Jackson gripped a handle bar on the door that he assumed was made for steadying yourself in a rough ride as Wick went on about how he'd designed the system. He may have, but Jackson knew how they handled better. "It's all about science!" Wick exclaimed. "Not my area of science," Jackson commented.

Then Wick was talking about crashing, and having a doctor here if he did, and Jackson almost said that that wouldn't help if he died in the crash, until Wick continued. "Let's not crash then," he said. "I really don't want to have to revive you if Bellamy strangles you. We're not supposed to be fighting each other."

"Just sit back an enjoy the ride!" Wick told him, "Take this as a good break from the ice personalities--" ice nation "--and time for good old fashioned boys and their toys!" Wick made another jump, and then turned them toward their destination. "This of it like this, if no one got injured, then why did you even come?" He was joking, since Jackson seemed to be taking everything too serious. He just wanted the guy to unbend a little! The group was too damn serious, and he was getting to him! Yeah, the end of the world was coming, but if you were about to die, did not mean you had to stop enjoying life!

Just thin a deer--or what he assumed was a deer as it was big, and there one second and gone the next--ran across the path he was following and he hit the brakes, missing the speed needed to make the upcoming dip. The left side of the rover went in, and slid the side, coming to a sudden stop when it hit a bolder. Thankful they hadn't been going fast enough that it did any real harm to them. Wick hit his head on the steering wheel, but has he lifted his hand to his head, he noticed it wasn't bleeding. Turning his head, Kyle looked over at Jackson, "You alright?" Killing the medic right after joking about not needing one would be bad. Once he knew Jackson was alright, he would check on the rover.

'Boys and their toys'? Did Wick honestly just say 'boys and their toys'? Jackson continued to stare at Wick as he zoomed around, joking about there being no points for Jackson to be here if no one got hurt, and Jackson was about to say something about preventable injuries when Wick hit he brakes hard and the rover lurched to the left before hitting a boulder. Jackson had already been gripping a handle on the door, so he was able to keep control of himself. It jolted his shoulder enough to hurt, but not enough to cause damage, he didn't think.

Jackson rolled his shoulder when they came to a stop, deciding that he hadn't really been hurt as he registered Wick's question. "I'm fine," he said, but he was pretty sure he'd seen Wick jostled forward into the steering wheel. "Did you hit your head?" he said, automatically touching Wick's chin to turn his head a little more so he could see if there was any blood, bruising or lumps that should concern him. "How do you feel?" God, if he came back to camp with a concussed Wick... well, Bellamy couldn't blame Jackson. Wick had been driving. The news wouldn't be well received, either way, understandably.
