Things had quickly gone from bad to worse in a matter of only a few short hours. One minute, Abby had been making her way to TonDC to meet with Kane, Clarke, the Commander, and the other Trikru leaders. Clarke had told her to stay behind, but Abby wasn't having it. Quite frankly, she was growing tired of her daughter taking control over her and everything else. Abby was the Chancellor, which meant that she was the one in charge, not Clarke and it was about time she see that. She may have been calling the shots while the eldest Griffin and the others were still up on the Ark, but things were different now and it was high time she realized that. Chancellor Griffin had managed to make it to TonDC only to be grabbed by her daughter and ushered away into the forest as her daughter exclaimed that they couldn't be there. The eldest Griffin had known that something was going on, but she didn't know what. Even so, Doctor Griffin had followed her daughter into the woods before finally stopping and demanding an explanation. Then, the next thing she knew... BOOM!!! TonDC had gone up in smoke... Literally. The Mountain Men had fired a missile directly at them, intending to kill them all. That hadn't even been the worst part. No, the worst part had been that her daughter had known about the missile and hadn't told her or anyone else. How could Clarke possibly keep something like that from all of them? Abby had been extremely angry that her daughter had kept such a big secret like that from everyone, especially when it involved the lives of several people. Why? Why would she sacrifice and endanger all those lives? The lives of her people. It hadn't just been the lives of grounders hanging in the balance, it had also been the lives of her people as well. Abby would never be able to comprehend why or how her daughter could ever do such a thing. She wouldn't have been surprised if Lexa was capable of doing something like that, but Clarke? Mother Griffin would've never thought her baby girl would be capable of doing something so horrible. Clearly she didn't know her daughter as well as she thought. Several people had no doubt died in the explosion and many more would be injured. All those lives, all that blood was on the hands of both Clarke and the commander.
Chaos. Complete and utter chaos. That was what she saw as she stared down at what was left of TonDC. The once thriving grounder village was nothing more than dust and rubble now. All the buildings were completely destroyed, leaving nothing but rubble in their wake. Smoke and fire all around. Those who managed to not get injured during the blast scrambled around in search of survivors. Dead bodies lay scattered all around. Bloody. Limbs blown off from the rest of their bodies. Those who were injured during the blast stumbled around in search of their friends and loved ones, while others sat crying over the loss of their loved ones. Abby moved around, struggling to help some of the injured people, but the medical supplies were limited and there really wasn't much she could do. To make matters worse, someone was now shooting them, trying to kill the last remaining survivors. Ducking, Abby managed to evade the shots that were being fired at her. Others weren't so lucky. Every time someone tried to make any sort of move they were either shot at or shot down. Then suddenly, she heard something. A clanging. It was faint, but she heard it amidst all the disaster. "Someone is alive down there." She said, peering down into the mess and pile of rubble, but she couldn't see anything. She needed to get in there, but every time she moved, the gunman shot at her. "I need to get down there!" Abby shouted. One of the grounders tried to make a run for it, but was shot down right in front of her. Lincoln suddenly made a run for it with Indra on his back and Octavia followed behind him, causing shots to immediately be fired at them. With the gunman distracted, she made a dash for it and managed to make it down beneath the rubble.
Pushing her way further into the debris, she crawled further down as she followed the sound of the metal clanking in the distance which was growing louder as she moved further and further into the wreckage. "Hold on. I'm coming." She called, moving further down still. Who she saw caught her by surprise. It was Kane. "Marcus." Abby quickly rushed to him as he slowly reached his hand up towards a metal bar. "Marcus, it's okay. I'm here. It's okay." Reaching out her hand, she grabbed his hand and slowly guided it back down before giving it a reassuring squeeze. She was relieved that he was here and that he was okay.
