whatever THE HELL WE WANT It had been a week or so since the Mount Weather Massacre. Things were falling into a routine now that people were swifty recovering from their injuries. Physically at least. The emotional and psychological wounds would take far more to heal. Time may not even be adequate. And Bellamy was no exception to this. He was bathing in the blood of over 600 people. Innocent men, women, and children. Images that would haunt him for the rest of his life. But alas, he had to swallow it, set it aside, and focus on the tasks of each day. Focus on his people who remained. It was easier during the day where he could find numerous distractions. He had been given more responsibility among the Arkers, no longer seen as a risk but rather, an asset. He had done everything he could to bring his people home, yet his failures were not far from his mind.
All he could do was move forward; take it one day at a time. Night was the worst, but fortunately, the day was still upon him. Which was why he was currently out in the woods, scouting, hunting if anything came into view. Really, it was for the clearing of his head. To get away from camp, even if only for a couple of hours. It was a strange juxtapsition: he needed the distraction of his people but also needed the space. Perhaps that was why Clarke had left. Yet he didn't excuse it as a reason either. The resentment he felt over her departure was yet another element of pain and burden on what was left of his soul. With his gun strapped to his shoulder, he mindlessly wandered, still paying attention to his surroundings, fully on guard . . . but at the same time, lost within himself.
It was a rustling of leaves that caused him to pause. Something was nearing him. He immediately pulled the gun and aimed it behind him to where the sound was. He didn't see the source. Something compelled him to find it though, and before he knew it, his feet were cautiously moving in the direction of the sound. Another rustle, another flicker of something out there. He neared the distance, creeping closer, and finally jumped out into view where he saw it. No. He saw her. His gun was aimed at her, and if there were others nearby, he didn't see them. His gaze was completely fixated on the woman that he blamed for so much. "Son of a bitch," he blunted stated out in a low voice. How easy it would be to shoot her, and maybe it wasn't easy at all. What he did know, was the surprise of seeing her was what prevented him from making any attempt at her, and instead just stood there, staring.

Run. It was the only word driving her forward. She had been pulled off the ground by one of her guards. Her horse had been killed and she had been thrown by her—by Pauna. They were a small group headed to Polis when her scouts were killed... They could only the screams. When they went to see what had happened the beast was in full swing—tearing, biting, throwing. Lexa would have been dead had she landed on the stones and not on the softer ground. Only two of her guards survived and they were running. Lexa had only her sword and her armor, while one of the guards had his bow. In a moment they thought that maybe the best had given up, and they slowed. One of her guards stayed close while the other was a ways away with his bow drawn, ready to strike but they knew that did nothing.
She was breathing raggedly—her ribs fractured from the throw. It could have been worse... but she could barely run anymore. Then she saw Bellamy. At first she thought it was a hallucination from the pain as she held onto one of her guards for support. Her eyes narrowed with confusion and her guard stepped between her and the gun. “Bellamy—RUN.” She snarled hoarsely. “I do care” she played it over in her head, she was not lying. She cared about the sky people and the sacrifices they made, but when weighed against her own people she made a choice. There was no us and them here—and as Pauna growled and the trees shook that fact was more evident. Her guard did not know where to move—between Heda and the gun or Heda and Pauna... Soon it didn’t matter.
The body of her archer—the severed torso, arms and head landed between them. Lexa’s expression was twisted with fear, pain and confusion like a wild animal backed into a corner. The pain had to cease—and she started to run once again, not afraid of Bellamy shooting her. It was the least of their worries. “HURRY!” she screamed the order and her guard followed, but even in her injured state she was faster than the man, and when the massive gorilla broke through the trees and roared, her guard stood back with his sword drawn to protect her. To give her a chance. “Bellamy NOW!”

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy didn't want to shoot the guard. The temptation lay in shooting Lexa . . . but that was more the vengeance in him. He wasn't even entirely certain he could go through with it. Her words immediately distracted him, telling him to run. Run? What the hell from? "What now you care what happens?" He rhetorically stated, anger and bitterness strong in his steel tone of voice. She would leave them all for dead and now she acted like she cared about his well being by warning him? Bull shit. The growl was what pulled him from his channeled anger, distracted by the unfamiliar sound. His eyes shot to the trees where there was rustling, his gun aimed at the general direction.
What the hell was that?! He hadn't heard a creature make a sound like that . . . nor move through the trees like that, the elevated hide indicating that it was pretty damn big. And it was moving fast. Bellamy's eyes shot to the severed limbs tossed between them, his eyes slightly widening from the shock of seeing them. He wanted to ask what it was, but words escaped him. Right now, they didn't even seem relevant. When the creature emerged, the expression intensified on Bellamy's features as he eyed it. This looked like damn king kong -- something he had read about on the Ark. A giant gorilla type beast. Bellamy attempted to fire his gun at the animal but it was unaffected by the bullets. Which left his weapon useless. Lexa's commanding voice suddenly became very logical.
Run. Bellamy noticed the guard still standing there, ready to defend her. To do anything for his commander. Bellamy knew that saying anything to the guy wouldn't make a difference. He could only give him a bit of a shove forward to indicate to him to run. Now whether he wanted to play hero and get killed protecting Lexa, was up to him. Bellamy caught up with Lexa, starting to make a mad dash for it and yet he froze when the beast reached for the guard. Inwardly cursing, Bellamy fired a few more shots at the animal to distract him. He may not be a fan of the Grounders or Lexa, but that didn't mean he would watch them die like this. Whatever protective instinct he had, was coming into play. "GO!" He yelled at him, and even Lexa as he fired a couple more shots, waiting for either of them to get a move on so that he could run behind them.

“Nou ste Jacom! Ron we—“ Lexa yelled at him, eyes wide when she realized what he was doing. There was nothing she could do to stop him. His duty was to protect her and that was what he was going to die doing. She had to run. Bellamy’s shots hit the beast’s thick hide but she knew that it would not help. “Save your bullets!” she growled through labored breaths as she ran with him, fighting the urge to keel over in pain. Every move was painful but there was so much adrenaline. The beast was tearing Jacom apart and she could hear it... Flesh ripping, screams, all of it. They would be next.
Lexa looked behind her, scared to death that Bellamy would do something like shoot her in the leg to slow her down. She had no guards it was only Bellamy and she didn’t know who was a bigger threat to her life right now... Her injuries, Pauna or Bellamy. She held her side as she ran, knowing there was a bunker not too far. “Bellamy, here—“ she started to pull foalige apart, searching for the entrance to the thing. It was fortified. They would be safe, but she was so close to them... it would smell them... “Help,” she said quietly as she found the entrance. It was tightly shut but one of the many places she used to hide when she was younger and living in TonDC. “Get it open I

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Lexa told him to save his bullets, and while there was logic in that statement . . . Bellamy almost wanted to purposely fire more just to defy her. But he didn't. Instead he just focused on running, only a little behind her. The sound of screams pierced the air as he reflexively turned his head behind him, just in time to see the guard being ripped apart. Bellamy inwardly cringed before facing forward again, hearing Lexa call him over. He complied, as she instructed him to help and get it open. Right now, he didn't even give a damn that she was telling him what to do. It was a life or death situation and with that beast right behind them, there wasn't a moment to waste. He used every ounce of strength within him to push it open. It seemed to be sealed pretty tight.
Strapping his gun over his arm, he put all his upper body strength into it, his knees a little to better brace himself against the ground. It started to budge. First a little, and then more and more. The growling of the beast was nearing, prompting Bellamy to push harder until there was enough space to get through. He took a small step back, pushing Lexa inside and quickly following before he turned around and this time used his back to seal it shut. Just in the nick of time it seemed too for the massive stomps of the beast seemed to pass them. He had no idea if they would be safe here but for the time being, it was shelter.
Bellamy kept his back leaned against the door, catching his breath with a few slow deep inhalations and exhalations. More in relief than any sort of tiredness. Closing his eyes for a brief moment while doing so. But the reality of the situation came crashing back down. He had escaped one threat, only to be in the company of another. He eyed the woman before him, the one he held so much anger and disdain towards. "Are you hurt?" He question was bluntly asked, without a softness to it . . . yet there was still genuine concern there, however much he tried to mask it with the bitterness he felt toward her.
