Octavia Blake
I don't want to survive. I want to live.
Octavia had been staring out into the woods, trying to process everything that had happen recently. Behind her, Bellamy was giving orders to someone, and she looked away to watch him for a moment. Her name was ironic now. Sister to the emperor. Little did they know how 'dead on' that would be 17 years later. Her thoughts were slightly bitter, if not still loving toward her brother. She loved him but she didn't like him right now.
She had never seen him so violent and unwilling to hear her as when he had Lincoln hostage. As when he hurt him. Stabbed his hand. Beat him with a---Octavia looked down to the fire, cutting off her thoughts, and bit her lip to keep from snapping at Bellamy again. Soon enough he would crawl into his tent with one or more of his girls and . . . . do whatever it was that he did with a few girls all night long--things she didn't want to think about.
Octavia had just looked up to where she had been looking and that was when she saw it. The flower. That had not been there a moment ago! Her heart skipped a beat, while she fought a smile and she tired to act casual as she stood up and stretched. Casual. Be causal! Moving toward her tent, she looked back at her brother who thankfully was talking to Clarke and wasn't looking . . . so she skipped her tent and moved toward the door.
She didn't have to wait long until the guard wasn't looking and she could slip out. Once free, she ran. Grabbing the flower she followed the long trail of flowers until she to where he was leading her, and HE came into sight. His back was too her, so she slowed her steps. She tired to sneak up behind him on slight toes, making sure to step on no sticks, or leaves to give her away! Each step seemed to echo in her hears, as she got closer. When she was within reaching distance, she had to fight to not laugh, giddy with the idea that she might be getting close to sneaking up on his this time! Pulling out her blade, she moved closer still, and moved in to attack!

Lincoln knew better than to walk into the sky people's camp to find Octavia. Her brother was still hostile, as were most of her people. It didn't matter though, because the only one he cared about was her. He was quick as he slipped the lily into their spot, and even quicker to retreat to an area safest for them to meet... He missed her. I hadn't been that long since they had been together, but Octavia was someone he needed by his side. Strange to think of it that way, but minutes dragged by when she was locked up in that camp, but his little vix managed to slip away.
He didn’t hear her approach until she was within arm’s reach. Her steps blended into the sounds of the forest—from the buzzing insects to the wind whistling through the trees. Lincoln stood with his back to her and a lily between his fingers. When she was only inches behind him, Lincoln turned around and laced one arm around the small of her back tightly. With a rare smile, he spun them just enough so that he could rest her against a large oak tree.
His forehead rested against hers. “Very close, but I could hear the excitement in your breath.” He said softly as he took the lily in his hand and slowly brushed Octavia’s hair back behind her ear. He nestled the flower there before drawing his arm away to cup her face in his two hands. “I missed you,” he said softly; his thumbs traced along her cheek bones before he leaned in to kiss her softly. “We’ll have to work on your stalking... You’ll make a fine scout someday.” His smile was genuine as he looked at her, just appreciating having her here—away from prying eyes and harsh opinions.

Octavia Blake
I don't want to survive. I want to live.
She was there! So close! She could almost touch him, and then she would have gotten the drop on a grounder! O took another step forward, and then!---Found herself being spun around to have her back to a tree, and the surprise made her drop the weapon. Not that she minded, she liked being this close to him. He lowered his head and for a moment she thought he would kiss her, but instead he rested his forehead against her's. As if he just wanted to be close to her as well. No one had ever made her feel this way, or proven to have felt this way about her. Atom had come close, but Bellamy had scared him, and he backed off quick enough. Clearly she had not been worth the fight. However, Lincoln had been chained, and beaten, and he had still fought for her. She loved his strength, and how he still managed to be gentle and kind through it.
With Bellamy it was, O your not strong enough, and O you don't understand, and O stay back and just be safe because I have you mentally under the floor. With Lincoln she was alive, and bold and she loved it! He protected her, but not from everything! He trusted her to come here alone rather then walk her here. He was training her, and teaching her; not keeping her tucked away somewhere. With his people, no one tucked you away, and they expected you to be strong. She wanted to be in that world! His world! But she knew they would never accept her.
“Very close, but I could hear the excitement in your breath.” UGH! She had given herself away! She had tried so hard to be quite, but she knew she had more training yet to come! She needed to work harder! He brushed her hair back, and she found herself smiling despite her failure to attack him. A flower was left there, and then his large hand cupped her face. “I missed you,” "I missed you too," She breathed out as he kissed her. It made her feel butterlies in belly and warm. When he broke the kiss to speak, ans used her tounge to touch her lips and taste him once again. “We’ll have to work on your stalking ... You’ll make a fine scout someday.” Pride from his words made her chin come up! She knew he would not just give her false praise. "I want to!" But she knew his people, and her people were at war. They could never join each other's lives. Only steal moments. Her hands, which were on his ribs, moved up to his chest were she could rest one over his heart and feel it. "I want to go back to your village and be one of your people." And be with him.

Lincoln wasn’t smiling, but you could see the swell of joy in his eyes as he rested his hand on Octavia’s over his chest. He heard her... In a perfect world he could take her back to his village and start a life with her there. He could train her, turn her into the deadly warrior she deep within her soul. He could show her freedom like none other—running through the forest unseen, and travelling to all parts of the globe... But he wasn’t smiling because of things that couldn’t happen, but instead that she said she wanted to be one of his people... His hand rested on the small of her back once again as he looked at her, choosing his words carefully. “Okteivia kom Skaikru, you are my people... You should know that...” He let out a soft chuckle and stroked her hair back still. “You and I are more than our clans. Here, we are our own people.” He knew it wasn’t what she meant or exactly what she wanted but it was still truth.
He lowered his hands to take hers in them with his thumbs tracing them softly. His smile was damn near invisible, but she brought it out of him... She was special in that way. “I have somewhere I want to take you... If you can slip away for a few hours...” his hands tightened around hers, as if they were going to be separated by circumstance at any moment. “It isn’t far... but I think you’ll like it.” The tide pools and cliffs only a mile away were beautiful, especially this time of year as the sun fell.

Octavia Blake
I don't want to survive. I want to live.
“Okteivia kom Skaikru, you are my people . . . You should know that . . . ” She was his people, and she knew he was her people as well. She had never belonged with the Ark, and only half fit in with the kids who were cast out from it with herself. She just wanted to belong somewhere, and she wanted it so badly she couldn't think about anything else sometimes. To really fit in somewhere. The only place she ever felt like she could be herself right now, was with him. Even with Bellamy she was pretending. Pretending to be a good girl so he would think her tucked away somewhere. Rather then think of her out here, training to be a scout and learning to stand strong on her feet.
His words never failed to give her comfort. “You and I are more than our clans. Here, we are our own people.” His hand moved down to take in her own, and her fingers mimicked his, tracing over the backs of his palms until she felt the scar there. The one her brother had given him when he had beat him. When he had pushed a small mental rod through his hand. When he had let Raven shock him. She felt sick for a moment, and her shoulders tensed, until his words pulled her from the memory, and in to the pleasure of being in his arms once again. Strong arms, that even after that hell didn't buckle or break from fear of her brother. “I have somewhere I want to take you... If you can slip away for a few hours...” She'd follow him him anywhere! Her smile lift up, at the idea of going somewhere!
She was enthralled byt he Earth's beauty, when all her people saw was the death it held. “It isn’t far . . . but I think you’ll like it.” And he wanted to show her more of it! "I'd follow you anywhere," She told him, "I don't care how far." If he asked her today to leave with him, she would. She was so tried of going back and missing him. Bellamy was always disappointed in her with everything she did. Leaving would make it easier for him to lead without having to fight with her about it. O's hand tightened over his. "Where are we going?!" Because she would risk everything for a moment with him!

Her excitement made a smile play at the edges of his lips, even as her fingers traced the still ravaged scar on his hand. He had been through far worse, but he knew that being trapped in that camp weighed heavily on Octavia's conscience. She was so enthralled with the idea of being with him that he couldn't help feeling the same. He couldn't help wanting to take her and run away to some secluded place away from politics and war, where they could just be... them. He took her hand more firmly in his and smiled playfully as he began to walk.
"It isn't too far-- or I would carry you." he was kidding of course. He wondered how she felt about that idea... "Be patient," he said in a soft voice as he pulled her closer and slung an arm over her shoulders. "It'll be worth the wait." He led the way, walking down the steep hill and holding her carefully so that she wouldn't lose her balance. The soil turned to rocks and the trees grew more sparse as they came down to the river. Instead of crossing, he walked with her along the length of the stream, following the water. "It must feel... constricting; having to stay in that camp." He said lightly with a soft frown as his thumb brushed over the skin of her shoulder.

Octavia Blake
I don't want to survive. I want to live.
"It isn't too far-- or I would carry you." He told her, and O smiled up at him in a soft laugh. She had never been carried (other then Bellamy's rides around their place) until Lincoln had carried her when she was injured. She hadn't known he spoke English yet, and she had been in too much pain to enjoy being held so close to him. She thought she would like it, but she was also the type of girl who would push herself harder and faster. "I can keep up!" She told him boldly, knowing she would do her damnest to keep up, and wouldn't complain unless she was really going to die.
She didn't want him to think her weak. His people seemed to value strength, and she loved that about them. She wanted to have that. She wanted to be that! "Be patient," She smiled again, knowing that she had a very urgent personality. Since escaping her box, she had wanted to see everything, and do everything and she wanted to do it NOW! There wasn't a wait for her. He pulled her closer and wrapped his arm over her shoulders. He was strong, physically. He had proved that when he carried her, and when he didn't break under her brother's beating, or Raven's shocking. She could feel it around her now, and she loved it. Someone that would not be bowed or broken under her brother's rule. Someone who wasn't afraid. Yet she also felt his gentleness. He never hurt her. "It'll be worth the wait." He promised, and she felt herself leaning into him, "I trust you," She told him, but while the words were light, almost a tease, she meant them on a deeper level. Trust wasn't something Blakes did with ease.
They left he woods and began following the stream. O was looking around so much that his words caught her off guard. "It must feel... constricting; having to stay in that camp." It might seem that way, but for her constricting meant something different. His fingers were touching her, so she tried not to let herself react to that, and instead opened up to him more about her life before Earth--before him. "It's not as bad as it was on the Ark." Here she was free. "Families there are only allowed one child. I was my mother's second, so she hid me under the floor. I could come out and play, but any time there was a risk of someone coming by I had to hide again. I spent 16 years inside a windowless room, that was smaller then your cave . . . When I got caught, they executed her, and arrested me. I spent the next year in a cell half the size, and then sent to Earth."

They continued to walk and Lincoln let his hand drop to hold hers as she spoke of her life in the sky—away from earth. He couldn’t understand how anyone could survive being locked away like that… Mentally, it had to be devastating to be imprisoned by something she couldn’t control. He remembered when she yelled at him after he locked her in his cave so that she wouldn’t escape and fall into the hands of his brothers… She screamed that it was nothing—that she spent her life locked away, but he didn’t know the details. His hand tightened instinctively around hers as he took careful steps from stone to stone, knowing she could keep up with his quick pace.
After she spoke he fell silent for a long moment, thinking about it—how terrible it had to be; never seeing the outside world. He felt that way about the ship they spoke of—but to be confined to a room; hidden under the floorboards. Her very existence was a secret her mother died trying to protect. “You are free now,” he said gently after a long moment of silent contemplation. “No one will ever imprison you again. I wouldn’t let them.” He was serious and it showed in his tone and the soft glance he spared her. He looked up at the sky lightly before looking back at her with a soft expression. “We can go anywhere you want.” There were so many times he had considered leaving with her for Luna’s clan… She would be welcomed… they would be happy; but leaving their people was difficult.
As they walked down the length of the stream, the sound of a small oceanic pool could be heard in the distance. The true shore was a ways away, but the pools that formed as the salt water met the river were beautiful and filled with all sorts of creatures. Some glowed blue and green in the water as small fish hit the moss… There were small creatures; frogs and small eel like creatures that swam in the shallow pools. The glowing moss and fish were what made it beautiful.

Octavia Blake
I don't want to survive. I want to live.
After she opened up to him she waited for his pity, or even anger at people for doing this. Instead his answer was unexpected, and she found she liked this reaction better then any other one she could have imagined. “You are free now,” There was no questioning anyone's motives making her have to defend the people she was angry with. There was no pity that would enrage her. He had been silent while thinking and then told her she was free now. “No one will ever imprison you again. I wouldn’t let them.” Her hand tightened over his that now held her hand, and she felt grateful for his words. He wouldn't let them. She smiled, while she didn't think she could ever smile while talking about this. When she spoke, it was NOT a dismissal of his words, because they were the best ones anyone could have ever of said to her. "I wont them them," she told him, because he had showed her the power she held. She would not let anyone lock her away, now that Lincoln was showing her how to be free.
Her thoughts were on Bellamy, and how he tried to keep her 'protected' and safe behind a wall. How he seemed to think her too naive to be would in the world without him. This was the hardest cage to escape. “We can go anywhere you want.” He told her, and Octavia wondered where there was to go! She wanted to see the world! She wanted to master it's challenges! Yet she also thought of Bellamy, because going somewhere meant leaving him. He was the only reason she was still here. She owed nothing to the others. Bellamy would hunt them down. He would never let her just disappear. "If you could go anywhere, where would you . . . . . gggoooo . . . " Her voice trailed off from her question as the view of the pool came into view and her eyes widened. It was beautiful! He had taken her to the most beautiful place her mind could have dreamed up! It was so much better then the butterfly fields! There was life, and sounds everywhere! She looked back up at him with wonder and excitement, and . . . and love. Because he understood her like no one had ever. He never held her back out of fear she'd be hurt, unless it was something he'd hold anyone back on. He made the world safe, and let her explore it, and be wild in it. "This is beautiful!" She told him, knowing that his understanding of her was why she had fallen for him.

When she said she wouldn’t let them, a smile of pride crossed Lincoln’s features. He loved this woman… Everything about her; from her beauty to her resilience and ability to survive. She was perfect—it was a wonder that she hadn’t been born Trikru. Such a spirit didn’t belong in a cage in the sky. It belonged here where she could run and breathe in the air and sights around her. She had a Trikru heart, no matter where she was born or what her blood said. Perhaps it was why Lincoln had fallen for her so easily. His people saw it as a betrayal, but they couldn’t be more wrong. If only they knew her the way he did. They would see what he saw; and that was much more than a sky girl.
Then she saw the pools… The way she was lost in the beauty of them made him smile and follow her to them slowly. The sands that surrounded the multiple tide pools were bright with life and as the sun fell behind the horizon they would laminate the silver sand. In the sunset, the sands took on a soft orange glow… “If I could go anywhere…” he thought for a moment as he followed Octavia to the pools. He leaned down and ran his fingers through the water, making the moss and particles glow more brilliantly. “I have never thought of it. I have lived here for so long… Travelled so far…” he drew in a soft breath before looking up at her. “I love the sea. Floukru had beautiful villages… they took to the open seas often.”

Octavia Blake
I don't want to survive. I want to live.
O was falling in love with this place, and she loved Lincoln for showing it too her! It would be the place this thought of when she was in her tent at night and missing him! A part of her wanted to swim, but the other part knew of the dangers of driving right in! The last time she had she had nearly become something's meal! Still, fear would not rule her! When Lincoln touched the water, and it seemed to come alive from his touch she did the same, drawing patterns from where she was, over closer to where he was. “If I could go anywhere . . . ” Octavia waited to hear the answer. He had seen so much more then her! Where was some place he thought worth going?
“I have never thought of it. I have lived here for so long . . . Traveled so far . . . ” She had done nothing but think on it! From her room, from her cell, from the camp. She thought about it! She wanted to see the world--but she wanted to see it with Lincoln! When she first landed she had just wanted to get out! Do something wild and crazy! She had even left her brother back at camp to go on her first adventure because she wanted to do something on her own and bold! . . . . She didn't want to do it on her own any longer. She wanted his quite strength there to give her strength. His knowledge to help make her smarter. His presence to make her feel everything that it made her feel! Safe, warm, loved, important, strong, bold, and beautiful!
So when he finally spoke of a place, she was in rapture while listening too it. “I love the sea. Floukru had beautiful villages . . . they took to the open seas often.” The sea! "I've never seen the sea." She told him, looking at his face. O wanted nothing more then to ask him to take her there. She wanted to see it with him, but that meant leaving Bellamy. She wasn't sure she could leave her brother. Even if he seemed not mind her not being around as much. O even opened her lips to ask him to take her, before she knew she couldn't. Not with things being so tense between their people, and not with Bellamy in the middle. "Maybe one day we can see it?" When things were different. While she spoke the words, her fingers lifted to drop drops of colorful water on his exposed skin of his arm, and she watched it fall over his darken skin. Then she used her thumb to wipe it away--an excuse to touch him. She loved touching him.

“If we visit them, you will see many things that you probably haven’t seen before.” He watched as she dripped the bright blue, shimmering water on his skin and wiped it away—mesmerized by her movements for a long moment. “Trikru... the land around our villages is so restrictive. There is much more to see out there past the trees.” He dipped his fingers into the water and trailed them along the skin of Octavia’s forearm, watching the blue and purple glimmers against her soft skin. With his dry hand, he reached up to cup her jaw; the tips of his fingers nestled in her hair. “I will show you... all of it; the deserts, the tropics... the beach and the ocean. As soon as we are able.”
There was nothing he wanted more than that; to take her with him to every edge of their territories. He could show her the rugged lifestyle of the Sankru and the ruins they sacked for oddities from the old world. He could even bring her to meet the humble lake people. If only they were not tied to their people. He could do all this now—take a few horses and they could be half way to Tacoma by nightfall. Lincoln knew that he couldn’t... that it was a fantasy, which made his content expression twist slightly into one of disappointment.
"You would love it there,” he said as he leaned in to kiss her slowly. His fingers curled into her hair as his tongue lightly moved across her lip. He wanted to plan. He wanted to keep talking but the more he did the more he realized what an impossible future it was.

I don't want to survive. I want to live.
“If we visit them, you will see many things that you probably haven’t seen before.” Probably? More like things she had only ever dreamed about! Bellamy used to ride her around on his back and take her through jungles and woods, but being here was something she had never imagined! It was so much better--and it was mostly because she had someone to share it with. Someone to be help her explore this world that Bellamy wanted to keep her from! He described the places he would take her too one day, and O watched his fingers drop the water over her skin until he cupped her face. “As soon as we are able.” Maybe someday.
His face took on an expression that she wasn't sure what it meant. O lifted her hand to touch his face like he held her's with her fingers trailing over his lips instead. She lowered her hand as he spoke once more, "You would love it there,” and she parted her lips for his kiss. His tongue tasted her lip, and in return she opened them to softly bit at his own, her hand going to his shoulder as she moved to be closer to him. As the kiss broke, she whispered her words softly, "I love it here." With him. Moving once more to kiss him, her arms wrapped around his neck, and she held him to her. Octavia tasted his mouth, and loved the warm heat of him. When she had first seem him half naked, and bound up she had felt something deep in her belly. Something she had never felt before. There had been fear, but something else. While cleaning him, she had been fascinated by the drawings on his skin, and the strength he had, yet his gentleness. Now, he was no longer bound, and her touch was one meant to explore, rather then comfort.

Lincoln’s smile was only interrupted by the deepening kiss, which was possibly the best way to interrupt such a burning feeling... She loved it here, and he felt that it was more than just being on the ground... Truthfully, he wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. Even though his people saw him as a traitor for his relationship with the sky girl, he would never leave. “Ai hod yu in,” he murmured as he kissed along her jaw and pushed her hair back. She wouldn’t understand him... but he was building the courage to say the words to her...
Silly how a warrior like Lincoln could be intimidated by stating his devotion to the woman he loved. His hand trailed along her side as his free hand cupped her face while their lips moved against one another’s before slowly he pulled away to look Octavia in the eye.
“I love you,” he murmured gently in a soft voice. He meant it... he’d loved her for far too long but putting the sentiment into words seemed like a step. “I’ll love anywhere we go as long as we’re together.” He let out a soft chuckle and pushed her hair back before both his hands moved to cup her face. Softly, he kissed her forehead and rested his against hers. “I need you to know that.”

Octavia Blake
I don't want to survive. I want to live.
“Ai hod yu in,” He said the unknown words to her and grinned to herself as he kissed along her jaw and pushed her hair back to give him more room to follow the path. She might not know the meaning, but she loved hearing he speak his language. She loved the way he sounded, and how his voice was slightly different when speaking it. She wanted to learn it! Though it was hot not knowing what he was saying to her sometimes. He could have said anything in this moment, but she trusted him enough that she didn't feel the desperation of needing to know what he said--though she wanted to know very much. "Aye hod yoo en," She said the words back to him, trying them out, and not managing to quite get it right.
For a moment as his hand trailed along her side and he cupped her face, Octavia thought it would go further, but insides he pulled back and looked at her. Her brown eyes looked up at him in wonder as he explained the words he just said to her. “I love you,” The breath escaped her body for a moment, as the impact of them settled into her bone. He loved her! No one, other then her brother and mother, had ever said the words to her. No one had ever gotten to know her and said them. She wanted to say so much to him in that moment, how the only thing she could do was stare at him in wonder. “I’ll love anywhere we go as long as we’re together.” He continued, before kissing her forehead and touching his against hers. O closed her eyes for a moment, but when he spoke again she forced them to look into his. “I need you to know that.”
He meant so much to her. He had shown her how to stand tall on her own. He had never tried to hold her back, and instead helped her explore the Earth that she found so exciting! She wasn't afraid because she knew he wouldn't let her get hurt. Where he brother had spent his whole like protecting her, and keeping her hidden; and not couldn't stop doing it--Lincoln wanted the world too see her! It was everything she needed, and he had given it too her without her needing to ask for it! He should be dangerous, but instead he was a man of peace! He had the training and ability to kill, but instead he protected.
"I love you," she whispered the words, emotion holding back her voice but the second time she said them they were strong, clear and sure. "I love you!" If it were not for her brother, she'd leave with him today! She owed nothing to the people of the Ark! But Bellamy had come down to protect her, and she couldn't leave him without knowing he was alright. He was her brother, and the only other person besides Lincoln, who she had any love or loyalty too. Even if they were at odds right now, she could not leave her brother. Which made her heart hurt, because Bellamy would never accept the man she had fallen for. The only one she had ever fallen for. "If it was not for Bellamy, I would leave with you today!" She promised him, hoping he would believe her, "I cannot leave my brother." Though she wished she could! She was tried of fighting for her right to live! She wanted to LIVE! She wanted to explore! She wanted to LOVE!
