Marcus picked up something and moved it somewhere else. He had done this a few times and couldn't even remember what he had in his head right now. Three days ago, his old lover had come to him and told him that she'd given birth to his son, and then kept the news from him. This would have been shocking, but add in the fact that this happened 20 years ago, and it had left Marcus in a tail spin.

He had a son. An adult son. And he was coming here to meet him in any moment. Marcus stopped and straightened his coat, before running his fingers in his hair. Again. That was when the knock came. He was here. Bellamy Blake. Walking over to the door, Marcus paused before opening it wide to allow his . . . to allow his son to enter. Waiting until he was in and the door was shut, Marcus finally spoke. "Thank you for coming." To meet him here, rather then Marcus going to him. He wasn't ready to face Aurora again. Not after a 20 year lie. He looked over him, taking in the very sight of him. He looked so much like himself. How had he never thought this was his son?

Seeming to realize he was staring, Marcus looked away and tried to pull in his emotions. When he looked back at Bellamy, he nodded his head. "I should uh . . . I should apologize for not being there." And it made him both devistingly depressed, and uncontrollable enraged that she had taken this from him. His son!

Marcus stood near the gate and watched for a sign that Bellamy Blake was coming back. This was taking too long. They had agreed that he would go and speak to them, because he had built a connection that could prove useful in letting them hear the offer. As the hour turned longer, Marcus begun to wonder if they had just killed him rather then hear him--but then he finally saw a figure walking their way. "Hold your fire." He ordered, waiting for them to get closer.

Once he knew it was Bellamy, and he was alone, Marcus gave the order to open the gate and to lower weapons. He even walked out to greet him. "Did they take the deal?" He asked, hoping that it was a quick answer of a yes rather than a no. He might even take a complicated yes, as long as they were not asking them to kill someone like they had with Finn. If they did then the Ark was looking at a war to keep Clarke, unless they could pull another miracle. And Marcus didn't know how many more miracles he could expect.

She joked about it being alright, and even about it being a good thing her husband didn't know where to find her. Marcus wondered about the man whom he had never met. Especially when she 'returned the favor' but telling him, "Your lack of a wife surely isn't due to disinterest on the woman's side," He laughed hesitantly, and looked down at his table to make sure he didn't do something childish and blush or something. He had slept with a small group of women over the years but most of it was very non-commential. They lacked the attachment, and because of that he had never gone back to any of them.

"What is it that makes a woman worthy to hold the position of Marcus Kane's wife?" Be her. He thought for a moment, but didn't say it a loud. Maybe not even her exactly, but someone close to her. Kind, compassionate. "Perhaps that is why there is no wife." He told her, "Because I have yet to figure that out myself." Still he felt he owed her some sort of answer. "Perhaps someone like you," He managed to get it out as a tease, "A woman who is confidant, kind, and intelligent."
