i am feeling so small i'm still learning to love Maya couldn't imagine how he felt right now. He was like Atlas, carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders, doomed to hold up the sky. Without him the forty-seven would surely die... but it was a lot of responsibility to put on one persons shoulders. Maya admired Bellamy for his bravery and his courage, but she felt sorry for him as well. No one person should bear that much responsibility alone but he did, without hesitation, without complaint. He had blood on his hands... but he was still fighting to save his friends.
Right now was a rare moment of peace and quiet for him. Maya had bought him to her home, much to her fathers disapproval, so that he could rest for a moment. He needed his strength, needed to be well rested, if he intended to keep eluding the security team. Maya was standing in the door frame, leaning against it, watching him, biting her thumb nervously. It was dangerous for her to help him, a betrayal, but she had to. What her people were doing to his was wrong.
With a soft sigh she pushed off the frame and stepped into the room. She said nothing as she fetched a blanket and draping it over him before sitting on the edge of the bed at his side. "You need to rest, Bellamy." She said with a gentle smile. But she knew that even if he could sleep, he wasn't likely to. She hadn't known him for long but felt like she knew him well. He wouldn't be able to rest while his friends were in trouble. But there was nothing he could do for them right now...

i am feeling so small i'm still learning to love Maya couldn't help but smile at his words. It was kind of him to offer comfort and the hope that the sight above was an endless sea of possibilities. But the pain was too fresh, too raw, for her to be able to believe him. Maya was still grieving and in that moment the future was bleak, filled with rain clouds, with no signs of a brighter tomorrow. But even so she listened to his story about how some believed that the soul ascended to the heavens, that they looked up at the night sky when they were feeling missing someone.
She wished it were true. She wished that her mother and father were up there, together again and happy, the everyone in Mount Weather was up there, safe and sound and non the wiser to the horrible fate they had been dealt. But... she doubted it was true. Life wasn't kind. It wasn't fair. Life had brief moments of happiness in a world that was gushing blood day and night. "The stars are beautiful, more so then I ever imagined they would be." she said, smiling faintly and almost bitterly. "But they are also burning and dying." Like everything else in this world.
Maya turned to face him then, turned her attention away from the glistening specks above. If she continued to look at them, to hope for the impossible, to dwell of the pain of what had happened, she might cry again. And she'd shed enough tears to fill the ocean so she focused on him. She had seen him around the camp but hadn't spoken to him in great detail. She wasn't even sure she remembered his name but she remembered that he was kind.
And he was one of the few people that had come to check on her. Many didn't know how to approach her. Most others didn't know how to approach her or what to think of her being in their camp. They saw her as one of the Mountain Men that had tried to kill their people... or with pity because she had lost everyone she'd ever known. It was nice to speak with someone other then Abby or Jasper. "I know I'm not great company at the moment but... thank you."

i am feeling so small i'm still learning to love No matter how hard she tried to look away from that gate, she couldn't. No matter how hard she willed herself to move away, she couldn't. It was like she was a tree rooted at that spot, unable to move, unable to do anything but spend an eternity staring at something that was never going to change. She wished it would change; she wished that she could close her eyes then open them and be inside the mountain, before the forty-eight arrived, before the desperation of a few men would lead to the extinction of an entire civilization. But it didn't matter how many times she blinked, or how tightly she closed her eyes, or how how many times she opened them, she was still staring at that damnable gate.
Maya didn't move when he approached. She only spared him a glance and a brief, sad smile as she took the offered jacket. Shrugging into it she turned her attention back to the gate and the mountain looming in the distance. His question cause a pang of pain to stab at her heart. Was it what she imagined it would be? Yes and no... staring at the sky, the stars, the shifting clouds, stirred emotions in her she hadn't thought she would feel again. Awe at the sparkling stars that were so far away, heartbreak that she had to take it in without them. The emotions came together like a firestorm; intense and fierce, threatening to engulf her. Maya shivered but not from the cold.
"It's beautiful," her voice was soft, thick with emotion and unshed tears. "But it's an empty promise." It didn't seem fair that she would be the only one of their people to stand out in the open air, the only one to take in the sights, and the sounds, and the smells. There were that had deserved this moment. Good people. Innocent people. But their lives have snuffed out like candles in the wind.

i am feeling so small i'm still learning to love Moving into Mount Weather couldn't have been an easy decision to make, not after everything the had happened to them. The trepidation, the torture, the death; no, returning had to be taking its toll of them all. But not all of the mountain folk were to blame for what had happened. Their were innocent men, women, and children, inside the mountain that had had no part of the horror, that hadn't even known it was transpiring. But that wasn't much of a comfort to the teenage delinquents or their families.
Maya knew that each of them were still suffering. The scars were not only physical but mental, and they wouldn't fade over night. It would take days and weeks before the wounds closed. There wasn't much that she could do to help them but she could be there for them during this difficult time. So Maya was there to welcome them back, to be a familiar face in a society that had almost been the death of them. She was a face that had treated them with kindness and would do so again. She was someone that could e trusted.
She approached one of the delinquents, Nathan Miller, whom she recognized and was glad to see had survived the torture. "Nathan," She said his name softly, as not to startle him. "How are you, are you feeling alright?" It seemed a foolish question to ask but it was one she was sure to ask the delinquents regularly. They had suffered the longest, the worst, and they would need the most comforting while assimilating to life in the mountain as free citizens and not prisoners.

i am feeling so small i'm still learning to love Monty took hold of her hand and even though the gesture was a comfort, it didn't stop the tears that spilled from her eyes. Maya held onto him tightly, until her knuckles blanched white and didn't look away from him. She needed to see him, to touch him, needed him to keep her grounded when the world was threatening to swallow her whole. We're safe. That as what he said, and he was right, they were safe... but at what cost? Innocent lives had to be sacrificed for their safety. When was the price to high to pay? Why was it someone else that had to pay?
His next words had her expression twisting with heartache, it made fresh tears cascade down her cheeks. A moment passed and then she was practically falling into his lap. Her hand was still clutching his, the other one balling around his shirt as she buried her face against his chest. At any other time she probably wouldn't have clung to him like she was but her grief was overwhelming.
She was alone now... they were all dead...
She cried hard. Painful sobs rocked her body as the tears flowed like a river. "Their... they're all dead..." It was a statement more than a question. Maya knew in her heart it was true... Monty didn't need to confirm it. She wouldn't ever be able to forget seeing her friends and loved ones, the innocent children, the elderly, dead and dying on the floor. The imagine had been seared unto her memory.

i am feeling so small i'm still learning to love Confusion. That was the first thing Maya felt when she wake. At first she didn't understand, it shouldn't have been possible for her to be alive but as her mind came back to her she knew... she knew. Cage had given her the transplant, that was how she was alive. He had forced it on her like some sort of sick punishment for helping the forty-seven. At first pain overtook her senses... and then disgust that her own people would force this on her... and then heartache as she remembered what had happened on level five.
They were dead... all of them... she was... she was...
A sob bubbled past her lips, her hands covering her face. Maya hadn't even noticed that she wasn't in the Mount Weather Medical Facility... she was somewhere that she didn't recognized, in a room with people she didn't know. All she knew was what everyone she knew was dead and she was alive... everyone. The people that had helped her and her father, who had helped the forty-seven, the innocent children, the people who didn't know the truth about what was happening. They had all been killed.
Maya remembered walking into the room and seeing those she cared on the floor, covered in sores, struggling to breath, dying. Her heart had shattered in that moment. The shock of seeing them must had been too much for her because she had lost consciousness. She must had hit her head when she fell because it was throbbing right now... or maybe it was throbbing because she was crying so hard.
She was still sobbing uncontrollably as she sat up and looked around the room. It looked like a medical room. Her hazel eyes became glued on the first person she saw, and thankfully it was some she knew. "Monty?" Her voice was hoarse, full of tears. "Where are we? What happened?"

| ~ • ~ | Character Basics | ~ • ~ |
.:Name:. Maya Vie .:Nick Name:. May .:Affiliation:. Mountain Men. Delinquents. .:Age:. Eighteen
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Maya is a young woman of average height and build. She has shoulder length, wavy hair that is dark brown, almost black really. Her eyes are a pretty hazel colour and are very expressive; she isn't very good at keeping her emotions concealed because of this. Maya has an olive complexion and has been said to look more like her mother than her father.
.:Height:. 5'6 .:Portrayed by:. Eve Harlow
| ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ |
.:Personality:. Maya can best be described as a gentle soul. Kindhearted, caring, and generous, these are the core fundamentals to her character. She hates to see others suffering and will help, often without concern to herself. She will avoid conflicts whenever possible and tries to defuse them should they arise. The path of non-violence is the one she tries to follow.
But she is emotional, and her eyes are hardwired into her emotions. Maya cries easily, particularly when scared or frightened. She has the same revolutionary spark inside of her that her mother had, that her father has. This went unnoticed until meeting Jasper Jordan and the delinquents.
She tries hard to help them and keep them safe, but also tries to keep her own people safe from the delinquents. Her loyalties are divided, her head and heart pulling her in different directions. But Maya has a determined personality and isn't easily swayed when her mind is set on something.
.:Special Skills:. Medical Knowledge (simple procedures). Decontamination protocol
| ~ • ~ | History | ~ • ~ |
.:Birthplace:. Earth, Mount Weather .:Family:. Vincent Vie, Unnamed Mother (deceased) .:Occupation:. Medical Assistant .:History:. Maya was born on Earth, inside the Mount Weather bunker, where she has lived since her birth. She lived here with her mother and father, Vincent Vie, who were both part of a resistance movement that took place within Mount Weather. Several of the mountains inhabitants refused the blood treatments from the Grounders, which resulted in her mothers death while she was still young.
Vincent continued to accept the treatments after this, as Maya was much too young to be left alone. For some years life carried on as normal. Maya found work as a medical assistance and aiding in the decontamination process that kept the mountain men save. She and her father would not speak about the nature of her mothers death until years later, when the delinquents were bought into the mountain.
